    Wow…so much greed :(

    • +7

they are also ruining our chances of other companies doing similar promotions

      • +10

I agree, some people on here disgust me! This is why I will miss out on a block, because some idiot buys 19.

The leeches of humanity. Some people just are all take and no give.

      • +1

I hope the companies can make it slightly harder to redeem multiples (different barcode, more details needed to redeem etc.)

I don't know if I can be bothered going to my nearest woolies at this time..might try tomorrow morning unless someone here announces they can't process the barcode.

  • Yet to venture out for this..I think will pass it for someone who want to try this cheese.

    • There is not going to be much 'passing' for certain people tomorrow xD
      (Pun intended)

  • +2

    Got my block! Thanks!

  • +1

Scored one at 8:20 @Greystanes, there were 2 left in the fridge for anyone in the area
edit: not many customers in the store, so your chances should be good if you get there now

  • +1

I guess no cheese for me then :)

    • +1

      oh no!!

  • Out of stock @ Burwood store at 6pm.

  • None left @ Woolworths QV, Melbourne CBD. Maybe restocked in the morning if 10k weren't snapped up today already…

  • +2

Hi all, I just tested this tonight at my local - it works great, I scanned the 250g tasty cheese block then applied the barcode that i got via e-mail (and subsequently pre-activated), it took $5 off the cost of the cheese (making it $0.00). Excellent! Thanks OP - expiry until Apr 18

    • Are the barcodes unique?

      • +1

        No

    • +1

      good for you

  • +1

None left at Kogarah woolies :'(

  • -4

Mainland is donating $0.01 to charity from these promo cheese sales. A whooping $100.00 donation. Don't feel sorry ever for this company.

    • +12

To be fair, they're also donating 10k blocks of cheese to OzBargainers…

    • +1

Yeah, such assholes for giving everyone a free block of cheese and donating money to charity… Have you personally donated more than $100 to charity so far this year? Or are you just a hypocrite?

$100 is pretty mediocre sure, but jeez put down the flaming torch

  • +1

None left @ Woolies Liverpool or Casula…unless they fill at night…

  • once when I redeemed my free coke no sugar, I asked the staff and they pulled a can from out the back. not sure if that was intentional but woolworths maybe you could apply the same strategy here?

  • +4

thanks for sharing OP, it's just such a shame that people are so extremely greedy.

  • +3

Still a few hiding at Balwyn Woolworths, Vic. Just picked one up. 9;45pm. Barcode didn't scan but self checkout lady typed it in for me. She asked what it was for. Maybe not a lot of OzBargainers around here. I said it was "A code for a free cheese". :D

    • +1

awesome story, going to have sweat dreams.

      • +18

Sweet dreams are made of cheese. Who am I to dis a brie

        • -4

Who am I to dis a brie

Who am I to diss a brie

          I'm just correcting a typo. :)

        • -1

          I travel the world
          And the seven seas,
          Everybody's looking for some cheese.

    • +15

That's not a bargain, as those people who got so much cheese are breaching the T&Cs of this promotion. Promotions are here to let more people try their products. You indirectly "steal" the cheese due to breach of T&Cs

    • +1

You are so lost, you don't even have the beginning of a clue.

    • +7

That isn't called a bargain. That's called pure, selfish greed. Difference!

    • +1

      Bargain != greed…

    • @Cirrus123

I completely agree. Spot on. We can go too far with greed, selfishness, disregard for others, but in general what you said is 100%.

    • -4

Bargain = acquire more for me while giving the rest of the world less = greed.

Nothing wrong with greed, but don't act like you're not greedy. You're beyond pathetic if you vilify someone else for being greedier. I applaud bargain seekers that hoard as much as they can; that's our mutual purpose here.

You want 10 blocks of cheese? Get ten blocks of cheese. I don't get any as a result? Damn, you beat me to it. Good for you and your family.

      • Your so much more placid then me, I'd be pulling his fingernails off one by one…

    • +10

Your opening sentence is straw clasping at its finest. Try as you might, bargain and greed are not synonyms. Few things:

Theres a difference between accepting a good deal and common theft, and others have made the logical distinction between taking what you need and taking the piss. Crazy I know, but contrary to what you think it was possible to take advantage of this freebie deal without completely shitting on everyone else.

No we are not here to get something for nothing - it's ozbargain not oztheft or ozbroden or ozfreebie

If youre so confident these Brodens ha

You'll have to explain to me how being thoughtful instead of a selfish theif is hypocrisy… Because from where im sitting you're just one of the many who Broden'ed their local store… And is now seeking some kind of validation for doing it.

Nope, sorry. Choke on your cheese loser

      • +2

        +1 :)

        • +1

Haha thanks for persevering with my inane "eyes just open" reply!

      • +3

Agreed with you. +1. The argument was so flawed. We are witnessing pure greed to the extreme. Where is the ozbargain's spirit of sharing? This post would not have published if OP adopts the same greedy attitude. If everyone adopts the same attitude, there won't be any real bargains posted. Some people just don't get it and would never find the joy and fulfillment of sharing and giving in life. Sad and pathetic to the core!!

      • -3

Nothing you've said is qualified - you're just categorizing someone greedier than you as a thief. Using the word "thief" because you're a sore loser doesn't make it true. Anyone else who finds out this website exists may very well consider you a thief for trying to get cheese for free and helping others get it for free instead of promoting it in a more legitimate consumer based manner.

Obviously the target audience here on OZB is not the target audience of the cheese manufacturer; people here are looking for deals and freebies and therefore every block of cheese derived for free here is, theoretically, "theft", since you are screwing the company over.

This is why you have no right to complain about this, as no one does here on OZB. You're here to get something for nothing (or as little as possible). You're a greedy little worm, and so am I - don't pretend like you're not, and certainly don't be a baby about someone who does it better than you.

        • Oh god more straw clasping, just stop! Go and protect your pile of cheese.

        • @jackary: Just don't be a sore loser, kid. Grow up and accept thine nature.

        • @Cirrus123: sigh

Once again dude i'm really sorry that you are demonstrably wrong and that the entire community seems to agree with me. Have a nice day

    • +2

Go dumpster diving instead of summing. I'd rather the deal not make ozb and 10000 people get a sample cheese then only 9000 because 1-200 ozb got tons of cheese…

  • +2

    888 votes…. haha

Some flogs here must have so many fake emails, I mean, how do you walk out with 10-15 cheese blocks and leave none for your fellow ozbargainers? BLOODY FLOGS!!

    • +3

This is why we can't have nice things!

    • +6

Thanks to having private hosting, I have an infinite number of fake email addresses and I can create new ones as needed in less than 5 seconds.

I only took 1 block of cheese though because I'm not greedy.

    • I hope they develop a lactose intolerant the second they eat the cheese

  • +2

Oh wow thanks, nice deal! :)

    GOT ONE "TASTY"….must be TASTY!

  • Plenty of cheese at Chatswood EXCEPT 250g tasty. Will be in city later but expect Town Hall to be already cleaned out by Ozbargainers.

    • What time will you be there? I'll bring some crackers and we can have an Ozbargain meet up.

      • Not going in now - a colleague has assured me that Town Hall are completely out with an out of stock sign where the 250g tasty cheese should be.

  • +2

Thanks OP- just got cheesed up at Erina Fair Woolworths, lots still available.

I just redeemed mine at Coorparoo and I was charged 1 cent. The receipt says, "Coupon Mainland Tasty 250G Block Free, Qty 1 @ $0.01 ea.

Has this happened to anyone else?

In any case, there were about 3 blocks left.

    • +3

Yeah it rounds down to 0 when you hit pay now

      • -1

The discount is $5.01. So technically u should get 1c back…

  • none left in Hawthorn & Blackburn South VIC.

    • None at Blackburn North at the moment.

Also thanks for saving me checking Blackburn South.

      • +1

Damn, thanks for saving me from checking blackburn north

  • Still a bunch in the Sunshine Plaza QLD shop, picked up 1 this morning on the way to work, so I guess the 10,000 amount hasn't been reached as of yet.

Can never get these self checkout things to scan promotional/custom barcodes properly though, had it both on my phone and even printed out as a backup, no dice for either. Tried a few of the options too like E-gift card or just the generic card thing, doesn't seem to be a way to directly input barcodes at my shop's self checkouts though, had to sheepishly get one of the attendants to login and enter it for me. Glad I wasn't greedily trying to stock up on multiple of these considering ;)
