      to answer my own question I got the toshiba one. Segate one has the HDD soldered to the USB board so higher chance of total data loss if it fails

        No seagate doesn't have it soldered to the usb board. The only one that I know does that is Western Digital.

      I have only ever bought 1 Kindle book. My thousands of others are freebies. Mostly because I won't spend money on something that can be yanked out from under me.

      Calibre will convert any eBook into kindle format (Mobi) and you can email the books to your kindle and the kindle will download them automatically.
      "myemail"@kindle.com or on some computers drag and drop books in, it will convert some formats on the fly from the email.

      No need to buy books from amazon…

    Is anyone else surprised how thick the disk is? It's twice as thick than in the promo pics or in the packaging. It looks there as it was slightly thicker tham the usb port it has. It's a brick IRL.

    This is a one surprising scam from Toshiba.

    Seagate is extremely sneaky their device actually does not include 3 years warranty on the drive itself. If you check the data sheet on seagates website it will confirm this. Shame on you seagate.
