  • Thanks OP

Can this be used with a Voip connection?

If you have an ATA or a port on your router yes.

      • Thanks I don't have it on my existing router :( do u recommend a good router that has one

There are so many with them it depends on what your feel comfortable setting up. I find it easier to seperate the functions and use Gigaset cordless handsets, along with a separate WiFi unit and use an EdgeRouter lite for my firewall/router. All in One units are often a compromise particularly on the wireless location side.

I think that the Gigaset path is often the easiest way to go, standalone ATAs cost close to $100 and a new router is upwards of that.

        • @Maverick-au: thanks :)

        • Don't use a modem/router with included voip ports. Without fail you will have issues. Channels get noisey, voip calls causing disconnect, all sorts of issues.

Much better off with a separate ATA.

I have Linksys PAP2T's from 10+ years ago. Looks like you can still buy them for $20-$30. $10 on ebay.
The PAP2 has 2xvoip ports for standard telephones.

I also use a Cisco/Linksys SPA3102. This gives you 1 port for a standard modem and also enables you to plug into your normal PSTN socket on the wall, so your landline can be added to a voip system.

PS Looks like the SPA2002 is the replacement for the PAP2.

      • If you have an ATA

So it is actually an analog phone? Bugger!!
Description says digital, which unless it is ISDN means VoIP!

I take that description to mean that it's a retro phone that has a digital keypad etc. If it was VoIP I would expect it to say this and mention things like PoE etc.

    • can't add to cart

      • was also available for $19 on their ebay store (postage is $5.95) - but now seems sold out.

  • No stock anywhere near me & can't buy online.

  • Did you hear about the guy who got tangled up with a cordless phone?

  • It's good deal but RRP is around 50 and can be found cheaper regularly (not as low as $20 though). Impulse buy, I already have a landline handset so even though it looks cool gave it a miss when I saw it earlier this morning.

Must not be a lot of stock of it because it sold out online quickly and can't be found at wide percentage of stores. I doubt they had truckloads of these to offsell and demand at $20 is that crazy.

  • There is a cordless version of this that Catch of the day often sells for $20 -$30 . I have one and love it. Bought before the deals though :(
