  • I use glister by amway. I'm pretty happy with it. But should I give it a go? What do you think op?

    • I see that glister has fluoride.
My post had non-flouride options, if you wanted to try that. My wife likes a 'natural' brand she can get from coles as it froths more. Due to the unnatural Sodium Lauryl Sulfate being a foaming agent.

If you had other things to buy at iherb, throwing it in the cart is a pretty good deal to try it out. I buy alot of now food supp's like spirulina tabs.

    • Just remember that the more natural toothpastes tend to not foam as much. And I tend to use less of the natural paste. But the best oral health trick is to swish virgin coconut oil for 15mins - 20mins in mouth then spit it out. Called oilpulling. Amazing how it works for your gums.

  • OP I think there might have been a mistake.

I tried to checkout >60USD and on the checkout page it tells me "Shipping method (Aus post) not available: Carrier's weight limit has been exceeded." and adds ~$45 shipping from the next courier.

    Or is that just me?

    • Sometimes you need to be tactical with your orders due to weight restriction and the free postage offer.
Sometimes I split orders to get the free postage because of weight, or be strategic in the orders. Such as buying something light and cheap like dental floss, or something light but expensive to go with heavier items across multiple shipments - to get free shipping on all I order.

      • So you were able to get free shipping? If so, how much did your cart weigh?

  • Natural = good.

    Unnatural = bad.

No such thing as unnatural. Everything we have came from nature. It is how you use it that matters.

  • Looks like a good toothpaste.

I normally get the Spry one. Too many natural toothpastes have other nasties like parabens, SLS, or something else that you would not want in toothpaste.

EDIT: oops, was referring to the PerioBrite toothpaste the Original link has SLS.

There has been some talk about ingredients in reg toothpaste not being good

Tested ingredients at doses that have been proven to be safe and effective are good.

Ayurvedic practices have absolutely no supporting evidence whatsoever.

Natural ≠ good. Natural and untested is bad.

this is worrying. from wikipedia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ayurveda :

Close to 21% of Ayurveda U.S. and Indian-manufactured patent medicines sold through the Internet were found to contain toxic levels of heavy metals, specifically lead, mercury, and arsenic.[15]

      • May god have mercy on us all.

as long as it's natural arsenic, I'm sure it's fine, right?

so you don't like fluoride in toothpaste, but you will happily consume the fluoride in tea????
