    Where's his pipe?

    No vanilla latte sadface

  • Ice coffee is so stupidly easy to make, it's not something you need a special soda mixer for or something. Just mix a tiny bit of instant coffee and maybe sugar in a tiny bit of water, fill up with milk/oat milk/whatever, ice, put it in the fridge, and be patient - it's better the colder it gets.

but this coffee is from Japan - it's extra special

I was in Japan recently and these are only 140yen from a vending machine, ie about Au $1.50. Australia is such a ripoff.

        • +3

More expensive buying in Japan if you factor in the flight costs.

        • Japanese also make under $10 AUD an hour so $2 is definitely not a rip off.

        • The beer and ramen are incredibly cheap as well.

      • Is it from Japan? I always thought Suntory had a canning facility somewhere in Aus. It would explain why you can’t find these exact canned coffees in Japan.

        • Brewed and canned in Japan, they're purely for export to Australia/New Zealand.

Agreed, but I love to keep a stock of these in the fridge for times when I want to take one on the go easily

Nah tastes like dirt that way. Just buy a cheap coffee grinder and pot (e.g. https://www.kmart.com.au/product/coffee-grinder-43149681/ and https://www.kmart.com.au/product/1.5l-hotcold-tea-and-coffee…) and make cold brew.

put it in the fridge, and be patient

It's almost as if products like this Boss Iced Coffee are made for convenience.

      • You have to put those in the fridge as well.

The point is that it's not some complex concoction like say soda or alcohol, you just put 3 or 4 ingredients together and put it in the fridge and save a ton.

Believe it or not, they can be be purchased cold from supermarkets.

Quite the fan of the rainbow blend for a quick drink with 0 prep. The rest taste too watery for my liking.

$1 from Cheaper Buy Miles, with a two month expiry

      • That’s only in Melbourne, any place like that in Adelaide?

    • +1

it's so tiny though and too sweet

    • All Japanese Coffees are rather horrid.
If you want to get actual good stuff buy the Vietnamese brands they actual know good coffee in a can.

    • Enjoy it while it lasts. Suntory rep at work said it's being deleted in a month or two (which makes sense because we've sold exactly 6 since they were released).

      • Yikes. The smaller can size can't have helped

  • Got one of these today but couldn't see the caffeine content on the can. I dont trust the google results and the suntory website is no help. Anyone have a dfinitive answer/link?

    • +1

The cans don't list the caffeine content on them either, but they do state something along the lines that due to seasonal differences, the caffeine content varies but is always within a specific range

  • NQR is selling 12 cans of rainbow blend for $14.

  • Bought a lot of them on sale on a recent interstate trip, because I didn't want to spend $6 a pop for an iced coffee. Did the job.

Would never buy them otherwise though.
