  • Works out AU$364 with expedited EMS shipping, it's great price I reckon.

    • you don't get 12% off on shipping so works out about $372

      • Not really, I went through the checkout process and calculated the final amount, came to US$274.09 that converts to AU$364. (plus one can get 4.8% cashback through Cashrewards)

        • how did you do it? I paid $373 with express shipping.

        • @bb_hunter:

Leave the currency in USD and your credit card (assume 28degrees card) will be charged US$274.09, which with today's conversion rate converts to AU$364 as per XE currency conversion .

        • @batrarobin: any overseas transaction fees if buying in us$

        • +1

@kjking: no, not if you have a credit card like 28degrees, Bankwest zero etc.

        • @batrarobin: I see, that's a good idea

    • How long will it take in arriving in Australia?

  • How does this compare to Samsung/iPhone models? Need to upgrade from my note 4.

No IR blaster on Mi5S =( Found it useful on my S5 to change channels in the clinic to watch ABC kids =)

    • That's one of the reasons I chose the Redmi Note 3 over the Nexus 5X. I too change channels in the clinic when no-one is looking. And yes, it's also to ABC kids!

  • I'm tempted but I might wait for a deal on the 4/128GB version.

    • I'm waiting for note 3 Kate below A$200

      • I don't think the Kate is made any more. Not sure how much inventory is in the pipeline though.

  • Q&A section says this phone comes with a 'shoprom', what exactly is it? I know these phones don't usually have google play services installed, What do you have to do to make it google friendly?

  • Any warranty from the seller?

    • Yes, I was wondering the same.

      • U go figure it out and let me know. LOL.

      • I got it. It has one year seller warranty.

  • Great price. I keep umming and ahhing over this and the Mi Max as an upgrade to my RMN3P. The nicer camera on this gives me pause for thought - if it had B28 it'd be a no-brainer I reckon (also the reason I haven't jumped on the other models)

  • I'd be tempted to upgrade my RN3P Kate if the Mi5s Plus was about this price and with B28

    • +1

Redmi Note 4X or whatever its called is launching soon. May have Taiwanese model with B28 if it comes there.

      • +1

yes looks great. but not likely to have a camera anywhere near as good as the Mi5s

  • Any good deals on a cheaper or older model Xiaomi at around 200 AUD?

  • Is anyone here using Android Pay on Xiaomi? Is it working well?

    • I was using it on my Mi5 but the after the latest update it stopped working.

      • What version of miui are you using? Thanks

        • MIUI Global Stable 8.1.4.0

  • Banggood lowered the price to USD $269.99 and disabled the code.

  • Can someone tell me why no band 28 is an issue? I tried looking it up and comparing specs from my phone provider but couldn't figure it out.
