Brain.fm Lifetime Subscription USD $39 (~AUD $51) @ Digg Store

Update

Thanks pbjabba for the comment:
Available for $29 when using the HN promo link: http://brain.fm/HN

Original Post

It's generated music which is supposed to help you focus, relax or sleep.
I've been cycling through free trials for months at work, struggling to justify the original price, then I saw this link in a comment on hackernews.
I find that if I use the 'focus' music, I'm "in the zone" within minutes.

I got prompted to get a further 10% off by registering an email address with the digg store, making it USD$35.

If you want to try it out, you can sign up with anything formatted like an email address (they don't verify) at http://brain.fm and try the 7 free sessions

US$39 Lifetime subscription
US$29 3 year subscriptioon
US$19 1 year subscription

P.S. This is my first post here.

  • Might be useful to place in there that it's meditation/relaxation/productivity music. I had no idea what this service was.

      Thanks for the feedback, updated.

Whose lifetime? Such offers usually indicate a company in trouble.

    • I hope not. Maybe I should start recording these sessions.

    Internet Required

That seems a little unnecessary for such an app.

      LOL - WOT?

How else can it stream the music to you?

Send out a European Swallow carrying a pianola roll?

      • Generate the music on the phone itself? Being generative music?

        • WOT?

It is not robotic or random.

It is generated as in synthesized or as in "not played by real people on conventional instruments like flutes, violins, etc".

        • So it could just download MIDI (or simliar files) then and not require internet connectivity.

        • @Lukian:

Yes, well you could save the MP3 file onto the phone, and use music player.

However this is a Streaming service. Same as Netflix, Youtube, etc.

      • You had me at Swallow.

    • Damn, wish I knew about that.
I've added it to the main post

  • Placebo effect? Probably…
Nonetheless, I do tend to concentrate more while listening to it over other music or no music at all.
I missed the last $25 lifetime deal hey had so glad I caught this one.
Plus it's been around for a while, so you will probably get your money's worth out of the sub if you use it.

      • Unfortunately it was posted after i bought the $39 one… Considering what i was paying though, i'm not even annoyed about the extra $10.

      • Damn… I bought the $39 one from Stacksocial - https://stacksocial.com/sales/brain-fm-lifetime-subscription
Missed out on the original $25 deal too. But the app has been amazing to use so far!
