  • how is that seller profiting from this? are they selling bulk satchels off the back of an auspost truck?

    • He may have owned a post office or knows someone who did and is trying to get rid of them.

These labels look like the older version, so it's probably just leftover stock from a post office or newsagent.

      • I also think some sellers are doing it for the CC rewards. It would be a lot of work for some first class flights but to some it may be worth it.

Stealing it from work. Morally reprehensible behavior, stealing things, and not giving us a bigger discount on them.

are they selling bulk satchels off the back of an auspost truck?

no. ap offer bulk prices for high volume orders.

    • AusPost website (http://auspost.com.au/parcels-mail/prepaid-satchels-envelope…) has 10x 500g prepaid satchels at $74.40 and 10x 5kg prepaid satchels at $154.00.

      • but you dont get $50 ebay voucher

  • Op you got your pricing mixed up

  • +1

You can often get 10 express 500g for closer to $85 http://www.ebay.com.au/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_sacat=0&_nkw=10…

    • -1

the listing that you are referring to does not qualify for the $50 ebay voucher promo

  • +3

    Does it include postage ?

  • +2

ive used $100 voucher (groupon $85 deal) to purchase 10x express post 3Kg prepaid satchels for $100 ($85)

  • this is the sort of deal i used last promo. Plus the prices have gone up since then so i've saved more!

    • That's great, I was just wondering what you bought in the last eBay promotion. Now if I can kindly borrow your time machine…

  • +1

thanks, 20x 500g sounds like a good option.

the 500g express only has a single lot?

  • -1

    nope, no tshirt here

  • +2

If your a frequent eBay seller, then this deal may be beneficial for you.

Frequent eBay sellers would know to use the eBay satchels that only cost $7.15 (500g) and $11.70 (3kg) to post.

    http://auspost.com.au/parcels-mail/ebay-flat-rate-satchels-a…

    • Correct me if I'm wrong but while these might be a better option than the red satchels, they a) cannot be registered b) aren't express post guaranteed - the latter being an important selling point for many eBay buyers.

      • +2

May not be registered as such, but still provides a tracking number, and options to add signature on delivery and extra cover.

    • +2

They've gone up now. It's now $7.40 for 500gram and $12.05 for 3kg. The website looks out of date, welcome to Australia Post.

For me, eBay satchels are better because a) they're easier b) payment is delayed (you can use that money for other purposes the meantime ie. offset debt until the invoice is due) and c) they offer tracking. It's very rare for eBay buyers to opt up to registered but I guess it depends on the value and item.

  • OP: "you're a frequent…" rather than "your a frequent"

    • -2

      srsly dude?

  • Thanks, OP, just grabbed myself some satchels!

  • EC. How can yo tell if the listing qualify for the promo?

    • +2

To be eligible to receive an eBay voucher, you must be signed in to your account on eBay.com.au, make a purchase which meets the minimum spend requirement under clause 3 and select the Click & Collect at Woolworths & BIG W delivery option for all items purchased (up to the minimum spend requirement) during the Offer Period. Go to www.ebay.com.au/rpp/clickandcollect for listings offering the “Click & Collect at Woolworths & BIG W” delivery option.

      • +1

So as long as you can select the Click & Collect at Woolworths & BIG W delivery option then it qualify for the promo? TIA

  • Any 3kg express post with this deal.

  • Anyone else still waiting for their satchels from MTMall?

I messaged the seller over the weekend asking for the tracking details (since eBay hides tracking information for CnC purchases), and didn't get a reply. Messaged again today asking for the info, and the response (along with the tracking number) was that the satchels were posted yesterday, via express (to make up for the delay apparently).

So much for the 1 business day handling time!

    • I received mine yesterday (sent via express post the day before). They claimed to have put on the listing that there would be a delay due to increased demand but I don't recall seeing that and figure I was one of the first to purchase. Anyway, they arrived and all is good. They seem annoyed in their response so have probably been smashed with the promotion. I left positive feedback.

Also, good to see the whole eBay Click and Collect system has improved and sped up dramatically since similar promos in the past. The Woolies I used had an easy to use locker system which is also an improvement.

      • +1

Yes I was also told the listing said 7 day handling time, however when I checked again it definitely said posting in 24 hours. Seller definitely seemed annoyed that I was bothering them with my question - no apology for the delay in posting. Not so sure that my feedback will be as positive as yours…

        • As an eBay seller myself, it would take a lot for me to leave even a neutral. Most people try hard so am willing to give the benefit of the doubt to this seller.

        • +1

          @matrix83:

Likewise I do a lot of selling on eBay as well…which means I know how easy it is to keep a purchaser in the loop. A quick, short message goes a long way to preventing a small problem becoming a larger one. Ignoring a customer's enquiry for three days, replying with incorrect information (seemingly to multiple buyers), and not even apologising for a substantial delay in handling time, doesn't really seem worthy of a positive rating to me.

I've traded on eBay for 14 years and can count on one hand the neutral or negative ratings I've left for others (mostly for sellers reneging on a sale) - I'll normally just not leave feedback for an average experience .

  • I bought 3 kg express post and chose click and collect but it was actually delivered to my house address

    • You should still get the eBay voucher

    • How did they get your residential address? It wouldn't come up in the Order page.

  • order ready to collect, Perth.

    • woolies didn't know how to process it, spent about 15mins waiting while he was on the phone to ebay.

edit: and also see that the $50 ebay voucher is automatically added to my account.
