    US $220.78 (~AU $221)

OMG thats a good exchange rate. Have I woken up in 2013?

    • Thanks edited haha

  • Is this brand any good, cause I never heard of them before

    • Zotac? Yes they are good. Provides one of the better 1080's on the market. I am not too familiar with their warranty, but the build quality and performance from their cards is very good.

Word of warning - These AMP cards are friggen heavy @1.5Kg, be sure to use re-enforced PCIE slots or a brace to keep them from damagaing your mobo.

    • Or have them vertically mounted (put your PC on it's side for most people).

    • +2

Wow, a lot heavier than the chromebook!

        Damn you're right. Impressive

  • op edited.

  • this CB is not the same as https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/222252, right?

Keyword "IPS". Same apart from the improved display.

      • i thought so. thx.
too bad ssd and ram are soldered, otherwise will buy just for fun

        • Have you used a Chromebook? I upgraded one from 2GB, as I had spare RAM, but it did not make any noticeable difference.

        • @manic:extra ram won't improve performance. I allow for multitasking. Like more apps or tabs on browser.

        • @dadeadman: thanks. yes i like to have many tabs when browsing and lazy to close them unless necessary.

  • Zotac card is sold out again.

Sigh… the demand for these is still crazy.

  • n2840 is basically an atom chip in power. Doubt it can play 1080p video without hiccups fwiw, but i guess the screen is only 768p..

    • It plays 1080p youtube and netflix without any hiccups. 1080p60 it has a few hiccups. This is ChromeOS, it runs very light. Best OS ive ever used IMO, loving my cb3-131!

I've got a toshiba chromebook 2 - 2015 edition. I looove it. Amazing full HD screen. under $400 delivered last year :)

        • i always wanted that one but now its too late and toshiba is quitting the laptop industry, i might just wait for whatever asus full hd 13 inch comes out….

    • +1

It fails hard at X265 playback, so don't get it if you want that. I consider it to be pretty important. Otherwise it's alright.

  • Anyone have any comment on the hisense c11 at $129 USD?

Edit: I already have a cb3-111 that I really happy with, but need another. Would this hisense be as good as the 111?

It uses Rockchip RK3288 SoC, similar to ASUS C201 and C100 Flip. They are fanless, have good battery life, but not fast (although probably comparable to N2840 here).

      • +1

Thanks. Reading through reviews lots of people mention the screen isn't great. Acer is only $20 USD more, so is probably the better deal. Also super happy with my cb3-111 so know I will like the improved model.

        • +1

gof or it bro, the screen on the cb3-131 is very impressive for a budget laptop

It does not ship to AU

      • Yep you're right. I thought I checked, but clearly got it wrong. Thanks.

        • +1

Hisense does ship to australia, make sure to select Amazon as your seller

This Chromebook is not currently supporting Android apps yet

  • $229 AUD :( Bought it anyways XD

  • Is the chromebook suitable to stream and watch movies?

    Can anyone confirm?

    • Yes. Can play most movies off the internal storage, or usb/sd.

    • yes it does that fine. 1080p no issues. Netflix, youtube, other sites

      • 768p :-)

        • netflix actually plays in full 1080p. But yeah the screen downscales it to 768p. It is a great screen however, probably better than a Macbook Air which uses a TN panel

    • +1

      Yes, but no X265.

Just bought the Acer Chromebook. Thanks for heads up. Was missing the fast startup and portability of the little SSD machines ever since my Sony Vaio died, although I understand that the Chromebook will not have the revs that the ultrabook has.

  • Purchased chromebook. Thanks.
