Saw that this morning they are both the older 512MB version not the same as the one on their site https://www.target.com.au/p/pro-tab-7-8gb-quad-core-tablet-b…

I am not sure other stores but I have the store name on the title.
Unisurf 7" $20 - use it as a media player in the car with fixed power. sweet.
That's what I was thinking, get two for the kids and mount them to the back of the headrests. Is there good software for remotely controlling tablets from a parents phone?
In a car, you want a decent display. Cheap ones can be hard to see by day, even without direct sun.
Create a sun visor by reusing your boxes from aldi.
OP do you know if the Pro Tab is Quad Core or Dual Core?
The photo is not that clear but I still able to see the $29 one is Quad Core.
But with only 512MB Ram I think it will run very slow.
Yeah I've been looking through the Whirlpool threads on both of these tablets, and the Unisurf appears to be plagued by contact errors, meanwhile the Pro tab is outright slow as
Hence cheap price.
Amazing price but might not come with Google Play? (http://technodelight.com/unisurf-tablet-review/). Review might not be for the same device but could mean some mucking around to install apps…
Ah. No Google Play according to one review here: https://www.target.com.au/p/unisurf-16gb-7-tablet/54991415
Still, if you can be bothered mucking around and are aware of the shortcomings, is a good price.
I bought one of the ProTab 7inch tablets and promptly returned it. Got the next model up running Android 5.1 with 1Gb of RAM and that one runs much better.
The issue is Android 5.0 with 512Mb is just too slow.
Also it seems 5.0 is quite buggy and a number of apps like ABC Kids iView would not play any videos at all. This makes its pretty pointless even for a kids tablet. However, the 1Gb model running Android 5.1 works much better. Only wished the screen was a little better but you don't expect much from a low cost tablet.
No wonder why it's so cheap.
Try the ram expander/ memory manager pro for those less than 1 gig ram.
my old tablet runs pretty good after i use them
Android devices are basicaly a waste of money if it's less than 1GB IMO … sure you can do everything you can on a 1GB. If you don't mind waiting and then waiting and then waiting and then waiting and then even waiting.
Well, depends what you want to use it for. If you expect to be able to do everything on it then yes. Absolutely. In my case I have a specific dedicated task I could use one for (switch for home automation) in which case it would be fine.
Eh well from that POV I guess they're a nice cheap little unit.
I agree. There is something about the way that Android seems to let 500 background processes (none of which the User wants or needs) suck up all the resources, leaving nothing for apps to run in.
You could run a full blown Office PC on 512MB RAM years ago, now days it's not even enough for a cheap mobile phone LOL
Well I hear Windows Phone does fine on 512GB ;)
The 1GB tablets with the Intel SoFIA 3G SoCs perform much better than these cheapies with low powered Allwinner or Rockchip processors.
Popped into Target at Chatswood (NSW) and they didn't have any - just the newer versions at full price. Having said that, I tried the 7 inch tablet and at $69 it was pretty tempting.
Hi OP, 1 GB version has also reduced the price down to $48 from original $69.
Yeah, I saw the deal, this one is better value.
I am not sure whether any further discount for these two models.
For what it's worth, a number of reviews of the older tablet note issues due to a fixed partition preventing loading more than a few apps. The current firmware removes this partition - http://protabelectronics.com.au/downloads/ProTab-instruction…
Specific store clearance only?
