    These things are so handy!

2.1A split over 4 x ports I am thinking. However, if its 2.1A per port - then a good pickup.

  • +4

I would avoid this as it is almost certainly 2.1A split over four ports:

Input connections: AUS/NZ, EU, UK, USA/Japan Input Voltage: AC 100-240V, 50/60Hz Output Voltage: 5.0V +/- 0.25V Output Current: 2.1A (Max) Overpower protection: 12.5W @ 220V AC Short Protection: Auto recovery

Much better to buy a multi-port charger which supports Qualcomm's Quick Charge 2.0 technology. For example one like this expired deal: Tronsmart QC2 5-Port USB Charger.

    • I tend to only charge two devices overnight when I travel. So this is good for those I guess. Not sure the neg is valid? Presumably 4 things would be fully charged after 7 or so hours?

      • The product is of low quality and many devices especially tablets now consume more than 0.5A when idle.

There are better options out there at a similar price point. You could even order the Tronsmart with the power cable for your destination.

    • I have this product. Also, I confirmed with Korjo directly who said it is 2.1A total output. So what you said is definitely true.

To grasstown, It's fine for charging overnight - we charged 3 smartphones overnight with no issue (iPhone 5 and two Nexus 5 phones)

It's even OK for charging while you're waiting at the airport (up to two mobile phones at the same time, or one tablet).

I think the Tronsmart multi-port charger you quote is a good deal. You've just got to factor in the cost of getting another travel adaptor to go with it. The Korjo comes with all the international heads already.

DONT CLICK AND COLLECT WHAT EVER YOU DO!!!!!

I feel it's almost a crime having click and collect available.

I clicked and collected on some Eneloops last thursday. Didn't get notification so went in a complained on Sunday. They hadn't even picked them

      The staff DGAF anymore

        Who can blame them?

        • They are still getting paid to do a job though.

One review on their webpage, and it suggests this thing has longevity issues. It may live longer than Dick Smith though. And nothing to worry about, given Dick Smith's pledge to uphold warranties :)

Bunnings have the same product, just go there and get it for -10%…
But as per previous comment, if it's 2.1 split 4 ways, forget it…

  • Don't buy this if you intend using it in a bedroom or hotel room. The light is VERY bright!

  • This item looks awfully like the one I got from CoTD last year, of which after 6 months they issued a recall for - citing potential fire hazard.

    Just be careful i guess……

  • Temporarily out of stock

    • Thats an known DS mobile error, go on desktop site and it shows still in stock

I bought this few months ago. Broke down aftee 1 month used.. Full refund issued

Just a heads up it has been cheaper before ~ $9 at Dick smith ebay last year
$10 On DS website last year
Also apparently $12 according to this comment a month later

Had two of these after taking first one back to Korjo, underpowered and tend to overheat, then die. Not worth $1.

Come on Clear, do us another deal on a Tronsmart one!

My trip to JP is in 32 days, hope I can get one in time.

  • I have one I very much doubt it, every device I own takes ages to charge on it even with 20awg cables

  • I've tried a lot of these style, and I reckon there are better choices. The output of this kind is generally just plain nasty (noisy, poor voltage regulation).

For grunt, get a Blitzwolf 4 or 5 port. It's not a plugpack but it's got inbuilt power supply so it just needs the standard Figure-8 IEC plug (easy to get different leads for any country).

However my favourite travel charger is an Orico 5 port 12V powered unit. You plug in a separate 3A mains adaptor for use in hotels etc (it uses a Figure-8 IEC as well). But the best thing is when in the car, as it plugs into the lighter socket and gives 3 x 1A plus 2 x 2.1A outlets. Best thing ever

  • b careful with this one, i have this and once inadvertantly plugged ipad to charge in less power socket. I literally couldnt hold it as it was veryX3 hot, since then have been careful in connection

  • Imagine how long it would take to charge 4 ipads….

Don't get this. I bought 2 last time. Didn't open it til we went overseas - working fine for a few days then it broke. Save your cash. Good thing it was only a few months old so we got it refunded.
