Mentioned by G5 in his awesome deal and just saw a big price drop today so I think I might as well post it separately. EVGA GeForce GTX 960 4GB SSC GAMING ACX 2.0+, Whisper Silent Cooling w/ Free Installed Backplate Graphics Card 04G-P4-3967-KR — was USD$229 yesterday and now USD$179.99 + $11.27 postage to Australia = $191.26 delivered, which is around $266 AUD. Much cheaper than anything on staticICE.

If you have AmEx however you can also get 15% off $100+ purchase. So $179.99 x 0.85 + $11.27 = USD $164.27 (~AUD$228).

  • Have a 570 maybe its time to upgrade to this… Worth while maybe folks? Opinions?

    • I bought one to upgrade my 660, which is pretty much the same as a 570. Go for it, it's a great deal

  • Excellent price for a card that can easily hold its own against recent AAA titles. 4GB VRAM is awesome as well, especially with games such as GTA V and Shadow of Mordor.

Probably not worth the upgrade if you have anything around the 680/770 range, however.

  • Help please, is this a upgrade from an 770 4gb?

    • No. The 770 will still be quicker.

Scotty is a hottie, I'm looking at this bargain on a potty. Slam Poetry!

  • +1

If you want to buy locally and have not yet taken eBay up on their most recent $50/$100 voucher offer, you can buy from here for $382, making the card effectively $282 (~$16 more expensive than this deal) IF you intend on making the most of the voucher.

  • I am really tempted, upgrading from a 7850.

    How will warranty work?

  • is it worth it to get the 970 instead?

  • I was looking at a second hand R9 290X for around this price. Is there a big difference in performance?

    • R9 290X is faster, but consumes more power, generates more heat and fans are typically louder.

  • ffmpeg, etc will also allow h.265 encoding in hardware with this

  • i got one thanks, not into the AMD i feel like they always let down the end user with drivers

got the amex 15% discount too :)

  • I can't decide if it's worth upgrading from a GTX 660 (non Ti).

I'm sure I'd notice a difference if I got the GTX 670, but the total upgrade cost would me more than double after upgrading the PSU as well.

  • This falls right into my budget. Am upgrading from 560 ti but my current card is so old it's hard to find clear comparisons between the two.

Obviously this will blow my current card out of the water but is there somewhere I can see by how much?

Would there be any warranty issues if it's coming from overseas?

    Soooo tempting.

Edit - Does this look an accurate comparison?: http://gpuboss.com/gpus/GeForce-GTX-960-vs-GeForce-GTX-560-T…

  • Does anyone have practical experience with the gtx 950? Thoughts? It's only marginally cheaper than this now.

  • +1

Price changed to $209.99 now, please expire the deal.

  • which monitor will pair up nicely with this graphic card?

    • 1080p or 1920x1200.

    • Any monitor really, should do alright up to 4k (I think Windows doesn't do 5k, but rather 8k, and 8k atm needs multiple GPUs)

  • Has anyone's been shipped yet? Bought mine Friday morning, was initially supposed to ship the 23rd, but says 'Shipping soon' now. Wonder how many orders they got?

    • Mine was shipped this evening (morning US time), stated for Monday 9th Nov arrival, but I hope it gets here before the weekend.

  • Mine still has not shipped yet. Stated to arrive 5-10th but yeah…

    • Damn. Any updates?

      • It shipped on friday afternoon. I messaged amazon beforehand and they upgraded it to express shipping free of charge so it will arrive by this wednesday.

  • Keen to buy one if anyone is looking to let go of their impulse purchase / in excess for their needs.

    Thanks
