ATL I suppose? used to be around 1150 mark so a whopping 20 save for BF. 🌞

    • +2

yea not good enough to bite yet imo

      • Will it hit ~$900 in Jan or am I dreaming

        • +9

          The latter

HODL ! 50xx is in couple of months.

    • 50xx series aren't even much of an upgrade as they all get a whopping….. checks notes on spec leaks 16gb of vram! Which is the same as the 4080s! The 5090 is the only card that up specs to 32gb vram.

      • the 5090's are expected to retail between $1899 & 1999 USD according to Gamermeld on youtube. Given the AUD is always garbage Vs the USD I expect that'll mean $3000 AUD. Which is what a good gaming, overclocking PC should cost.

        • Then you are looking at a high end motherboard to pair with it, and a high end CPU. This is not taking into consideration how MSRP will be ignored in favour of profiteering.

  • +3

I'd feel like an idiot if i bought now, the new cards are 2 months away. The current cards will lose their value within a few months, people will also start selling off their cards to upgrade. I can see the 4080 being $1000 second hand in 2-3 months. The 4080 is priced horribly still

    • +3

      4080 is horrible

4070tis is $400 cheaper and 4080 gives you extra 10-15 fps, not noticeable at all

      • +1

hrrmm i beg to differ, the difference at 4k is noticable. its not a very good 4k card imo, they've gimped it too much. the 4080 is an ok 4k card but not worth it for the price. none of these cards are worth buying unless you play at 1440p or less then in that case the 4070 super is decent for the price

        • +2

          lol
          how is it noticeable?
          cyberpunk 60 vs 52
          spiderman - 120 vs 107
          gow 106 vs 90

can you actually see 13 fps difference?

          dont be silly

the gap at 1440p is bigger
but we are talking 161 fps vs 140 - at those high fps its a non issue

          • @botchie: yes…to answer your question it is noticeable, especially on the lower end under 60fps where a lot of newer games are struggling even with the 4080 at 4k to maintain 60fps. 60fps is the absolute bare minimum. also some games have bigger differences than what you've shown and they're some of the games i play lol.
i just dont think its a very well balanced card and the price isn't low enough imo for that level of performance. i'd pay that for a 4080 though. 70ti super needs to be under $1,000 to be even remotely tempting lol its not enough of an uprade from my 3080, its around a 25% uplift on average where as the 4080 is closer to 50%, thats actually worth upgrading too lol. the 70 ti could and should have been better while costing less, nvidia is getting worse and worse

            • @S1nn3r86: Yeah nah, who would buy a 4080 to play 4k, that's a waste , and at 1440p you go with 70ti s, it's pretty clear
Unless you don't care about your cash, then you might as well go with 4090 as I said before

              • @botchie: a 4090 costs near $3,000. no chance im paying that, a 4080 is fine for 4k. 4k is a must for me i play on a 75" tv. anything less than a 4080 is a waste of time. they're all poor choices with current pricing to be honest. their value will drop within two months, it would be ridiculous to buy now lol a 4080 will be down to around $1,000 once they flood the market. thats a reasonable price for a 4080. a 4090 wont lose as much value and will still likely cost over $2,000 for quite a while

        • -1

If you play in 4k don't buy 4080, you need 4090.

          • @Anubizz: 4080 is fine, just dont max out the settings like a moron lol i have no problem optimising settings to achieve a higher frame rate and DLSS on balance looks good enough. hardly worth spending almost double for 30% more performance lol. a 4080 will drop down to around $1,000 second hand when the new cards are announced…the 4090 will hold its value, i dont see it dropping below $2,000. double the price for 30% more, that doesnt sound like a good buy lol

    • +5

Unless the 50 series equivalents turn out to be more expensive but not a lot better than the 40 series cards, in which case everyone will be buying the 40 series cards (possible price increases).

Saw this happen recently with AMD CPUs after the 9000 series chips were underwhelming. Prices for the 7000 series increased.

      • +1

rumours are that pricing will stay the same with new cards - meaning 5070 will cost what 4080 isnow - priced at $ per frame
there is no reason for Nvidia to offer discount, AMD is not even competing with GPU

I would just get 9800x3d and 4070ti, then in few years you can upgrade the GPU if you want/need
unless your playing at 4k and want the best

      • If one goes by the leaks, all except the 5090 are crap. Underwhelming upgrades.

        • Why would NVIDIA produce a gap? Last time they did that was from 20 to 30, and that was only because amds 6800 and 6900 series were cheaper and they undercut them on pricing .
AMD is not releasing anything top end now so cashvidia is free to produce cash unfortunately

          • @botchie:

Why would NVIDIA produce a gap?

I do not know I am not NVIDIA. What I do know is that they seem to only care about the top end consumer and if AMD were producing a GPU on par with the x3d CPUs, they would be much more competitive with NVIDIA.

            • @TeamSAXON: i fear Nvidia has now become too big for itself, it will stop innovating in GPUs and keep pricing up, until we get some competition it will sadly be this way

              • @botchie: This is exactly what happened with them. AMD sadly has not caught up.

    • +1

Surely 4080 super production will stop soon if it hasn't already like the 4090 - dunno if I can be assed waiting more months if something decent comes along on BF…

Also 5090 is going to have an MSRP of $300 USD more than the 4090 so not holding out much hope for decent prices on 5070 or 5080…

    • +1

That's what I thought about the 4000 series, and yet 3000 series hasn't budged.

    • yes

    • Literally just google the difference between the Ti and non-Ti card.

feels so good to use crypto to finally upgrade my pc, it's like free parts!

  • Anyone knows where to buy asecond hand GPU?
Facebook marketplace is quite bad, found dozens of 4X series reselling from temu purchases.
Nothing wrong with that, but they're using fake profiles, etc.
If they were just saying, bought from temu, can demo, etc. Would be much better. That being said they might be just scammers and all you get is a knife when you meet them.

    • +1

people buy gpu from temu…? maybe you mean aliexpress?

      anyways try gumtree

  • @zyc it's decision time… how are you feeling? 😛

    • +2

SOOOOOOOOOOO tempted rn, my hand is itching to place the order

  • $150 cheaper and ill get

  • +1

Ebay have to offer more than 2% extra off for a paying subscriber, unless you get the $10p/a deal. Starting to become a joke.

  • Any concerns with smarthomestoreau as a seller?

    • No, same guys as Shopping Express I believe. I've bought stuff from them before with no issue.

  • 4080 was 1350 two months ago. This ain't it.

    • 4080 or 4080 super?

    • A normal 4080?

MSI GeForce RTX 4070Ti SUPER VENTUS 3X OC 16GB GDDR6X Gaming Graphics Video Card

    AU $1,191.20 with coupon code

  • Just sold my Asus TUF 12GB RTX4070TI for $900, buying a MSI RTX4080 16GB Slim for $1579

I need the extra VRAM, memory bus and extra power for my new 32 4K 144hz Dell G3223Q.
Also Davinci Resolve Video Editing should be a little better.

Is it worth the $679 for 15fps more, probably not but I also have a 2nd 27” monitor 2560x1440 and like to do a lot of graphics intensive tasks. I would have gone 4090 at $2500, $3300 is a bit too high

The 5000’s series will be overpriced and in low supply. I don’t play AAA games or need anything more than a 4080. Honestly the 4070TI was fine just would have prefered a super with 16GB of VRAM instead of 12GB. My only grip was the fans would spin up and gpu was working at 100% during 4K editing.
