  The WD Blue 8TB is CMR and goes down to 190 from time to time as well. This is still decent deal for non archival/write-heavy use.

    Indeed. The Blue is the better option.

    I still have 2 on the shelf, because I couldn't pass up a wonky Amazon deal that gave me 2 of these drives plus a 128gb Samsung Evo MicroSD card for $320!

    I have a number of the Seagate drives - bought as externals - and they are good for what they are intended, ie write few read many.
