I thought this deal was cheap at US$99.34 and now it's back even cheaper making it excellent value for price and a good option for those still on the AM4 platform. While this doesn't stack with TCB/CR/SB cashback you can stack it with the AliExpress cashback promotion for more savings.

It has 8 cores, 16 threads, base clock of 3.4GHz, boost clock of 4.6GHz with a default TDP of 65W. Perfectly fine for multi-core tasks and gaming.

This product is marked as Big Save which means you're eligible for free returns in 90 days and easy refunds if the package is lost, damaged or no delivery in 30 business days.

For those paying in USD this is how you get the correct exchange rate in PayPal:

Setting overseas websites to AUD or letting PayPal do the currency conversion results in an inflated rate. To get the correct rate you need a card without international fees and do the following:

  • Set the website currency to USD
  • Checkout with PayPal
  • Select your card with no international fees
  • Click "See currency options"
  • Select USD to bill the card in USD instead of AUD
  • Proceed with checkout

Now you'll get the correct MasterCard or VISA exchange rate depending on the card.

Keep waiting for that extra number and letter on the end.

    • +4

Yeah im hoping for x3d as well.

My CPU is ooold, and is due for a new one.

Though my mobo will be limiting it then, but ehhhh.

    • +2

My heart skipped a beat when I saw the headline

    • +6

At more like $400 now they just don't make sense unless you have an expensive Am4 mobo already.

      • +5

Yep…when a AM5 7500F gets you similar gaming performance but with a future upgrade path there is no need to get a 5700X3D :) in 2025 onwards

After cashback i paid $165 delivered for my AM5 7500F from AliExpress

        • I think if you're getting a 5700x3d as an upgrade now you're probably holding off until AM6 for your next upgrade so the upgrade path argument doesn't hold too much weight

          • @filmer: AM6 with DDR6 will be 2028-2029 or later i really don't think people would wait that long when Zen6 would be a nice upgrade from whats out at the moment.

            • @vid_ghost: I suppose it does depend on your resolution and current chip. If you play on 3440x1440 or 4k the gpu will be the limiting factor. If you are still using a 2xxx or 1xxx I think the 5700x3d without having to upgrade the rest of your platform is more cost efficient also and will hold out until AM6.

        • What GPU are you using?

        • How've you done that

      • Yeah, what on earth happened there? I got a 5700X3D in June for $240.

        • Simple, stocks ran down since they're not being made any more.

          • @Merlict: Yeah, clearly supply vs demand, but I'm still surprised they almost doubled in 9 months.

            • @Erwark: Yeah same thing happened with GPUs.. you could actually make a decent profit if you bought a RTX 4000 earlier. Weird times.

Been waiting for the 5700X3D to come down in price. i think imma just go with the 5700x. still a massive upgrade from the 3600 i have now. lol

    • Same boat!

      • +1

Pulled the pin, upgrading from a 2600x…

    • Same, but waiting to upgrade 1700

  • Worth upgrading from 3700x? I'm using B550M at the moment.

    • Personally wouldn't, unless you can be bothered Ebaying the old cpu.

    • Pulled the trigger. Price is too good to miss. Follow the method above but somehow ended up with $146. Still ok I guess.

    • +3

If you're gaming and want better efficiency, then it's worth it. Zen 3 provides a great gaming boost and the 5700X is incredibly efficient cramming 8 cores into a 65W TDP.

      • Actually, i just cancelled my order. Checked the specs and realised that my bottleneck is at my GPU since I still use the pre historical RX 480. Been HODLing since COVID time.

  • +2

is it time for my 3700x?

  • Would this be a good upgrade from my ryzen 5 1600 paired with a 3070 that I just installed in there.

    • +2

      Do birds have wings?

    • +1

      Hell yeah

      • Won't be overkill? I know the 3070 is probably 30% bottlenecked by the ryzen 5

        • +1

For $140 it's pretty cheap. And if your motherboard has TPM2.0 installed, with this newer CPU you can upgrade to windows 11 before Microsoft ends support for win10 later in the year. I have a ryzen 5 5600x with 6700xt and in games I am getting 100% GPU usage and 85%-100cpu usage. I game at 1080p.

Is this not working anymore? getting errors of "This coupon code can't be used in combination with other discounts"

    • Same error here

      • Try the code AUAS13 to get $8 off. I am seeing USD82.96+1.58shipping before the code, and USD87.68 after the code.

        • I saw USD 96.62+ 1.58 before the code…

          • @ricol: I bought it at this price and it did not let me apply the code. As soon as I bought it the price dropped to the discounted price and let me apply the coupon when it didn’t let me before

            • @ltaylor99: I added it to the cart. After about 10 ~ 20 minutes, I refreshed the page. It suddenly showed a bigger discount (maybe I had collected one of the coupons earlier); however, I could not see the coupon exactly. Pulled the trigger immediately. Have no idea what happened.

  • Any recommendations on a reasonably priced CPU fan to go with this Ryzen 7 5700X?

    • +2

Plenty of options at $50, Thermalright's budget stuff is good.

    • The 5700X isn't a high power CPU and easy to cool. A $30 Thermalright Assassin X120 would be perfectly fine if you're on a budget.

  • God, do I upgrade from a 3600 to this or hold out for a x3d? Feel like I don't have much life left in my 5 year cpu
