All time low, been waiting for the anniversary sale to apply to these CPUs. I'm stacking with the in-app cashback.

8 cores, 16 threads, inbuild GPU. Modern enough, cheap enough.

FWIW I bought a Maxsun B650 ITX motherboard and Metalfish T60 case during this sale because why not, Aliexpress build..

Worth mentioning Computer Quality Global Store had it for US$134. I went for this one because it ended up being cheaper with the bigger coupon coming online at US$139. If you're buying other stuff thats a good option too.

I'm stacking with Cashrewards 16% off ($25 cap) and the in-app cashback.

    Unaffiliated, so no CR cashback.

      Thanks! Edited.

TBH I feared I messed up my checkout so thanks for letting me know.

    • +2

Do you think https://www.topcashback.com.au/aliexpress/ 19% would work?

      • +1

        Same reason. SB too.

      • +2

I think if you can find the other listing that could work as an affiliated product. Reminder you can check the listing link by pasting in here (which I should have done….):

        https://portals.aliexpress.com/linkchecker.htm

      • Yes, it should work!

  • +5

Respect, the 7700 + Maxsun B650 + T60 will be a crazy value build at these prices. I’m tempted to buy just for the sake of it lol..

    • +1

Why not. Here's what I roughly went with:

      TinyExpress:
      (pre-tax, pre-coupons)

Metalfish T60 with PCIe 3.0 showing A$56 (albeit longer waiting time)
      https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005007413075933.html

Maxsun B650 ITX showed A$185 before (I got it for A$205)
      https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005008094670711.html

With coupons and GST they're like 5% cheaper. Cashrewards tracked for another $25 off. Got coins (idk how they work but used them on the 7700). Will get 5%+ from the in-app cashback.

      • +1

Haha i already have a 7500F + 4080 Super mATX build otherwise i would get this in a heartbeat. I’ve always had ITX FOMO but cant fit my 4080 Super in almost any ITX case so its too late…

      • +1

That would fit a powercolor reaper 9070 xt.

        The temptation is so strong…

      • Any recommendation for the graphic card? Will this combination work (maxsun b650 and metalfish t60) with nvidia 5070?

      • This is tempted, at that rate my 9800x3d I have sitting on my shelf will stay there forever until I commit. Have been considering going full AliExpress myself given I won't be upgrading my gfx right now.

      • Would you know of a good case that will fit a 6800xt red devil? Im looking at doing a budget build but having a hard time finding a good case on AliExpress that's small and fits a 140mm PSU.. also have some 140mm fans laying around but dunno if they'll fit in a small case

      • Why the PCIe 3.0 extender? I'm new to PC building and curious why it's needed

        • Price and few downsides. For whatever reason the listing was cheaper with the case and 3.0 compared to the case with the 4.0 or even the case on its own. 3.0 risers in general seem to have little downside (but do your research for your use case). Either way I saved $$$ for a 4.0 riser if the need arises.

    • Do you guys trust non mainstream aliexpress motherboards? CPUs sure very few go wrong but the mobo has always been the part most likely to fail IME and the one component apart from storage I try not to cheap out on.

      • Don't have experience with them, but wouldn't the PSU be another thing you wouldn't wanna cheap out on?

      • I have a maxsum board, have been using it for over a year with 0 issues.

Honestly, they're likely better than cheap brands here. Mines a maxsun challenger H610i, has more VRM and better heatsinks than most other mid range boards at less than half the price.

Think its time we rethink the west is best mentality.

      • Maxsun and Biostar are generally fine, other companies like Jginyue, ONDA and Erying I would avoid unless really cheap (e.g. Jginyue B650i was ~$150 when the next cheapest ITX board was around 250)

      • They're non-mainstream, but I wouldn't call them an aliexpress brand- Plenty of local retailers sell them: https://staticice.com.au/cgi-bin/search.cgi?q=maxsun+b650&sp…

  • Tempted to upgrade one of my two Gaming only systems with a 7600 and 7500F :) but maybe would be better off waiting for Zen6 to make it a worthwhile upgrade

    • +2

Don't expect Zen 6 to be cheap though. The more advanced Fabs are getting very expensive due to AI demand

      • i would be buying the base model zen6 "7600" equivalent cant be much more then $300-$400
This 7700 CPU would only give me around a 5% gaming performance jump

        • +1

The 7600 launched at 269 USD, $428 AUD, which is $470 with GST.

Then add a price rise, and an Australia tax. Could be a $500 cpu quite easily

    • +4

Yeah, two cores aren’t going to make much of a difference, if you’re gaming I’d wait for 7800x3d to drop in price.

Like always though, Zen6 is 18+ months away and Zen7 is meant to be soon behind it with DDR6 and a new socket. Smart thing to do is ignore the upgrade bug and just buy when you notice your system is slow.

  • "Unable to apply promo code. The total after discount (excl. shipping) doesn't meet the minimum purchase amount."

    • Yeah thats a glitch with Ali express i get that sometimes… to fix it you can try another web browser. log off and log back in.. or try using Aussie dollars its a bit fiddly.

  • Need some GPU deals if such a thing exists

  • +3

Same CPU from another certified store.
    https://vi.aliexpress.com/item/1005007916479312.html?gateway….
This same link was posted on the 11/03 and it works with the TopCashBack 19% as it is an affiliated product

    • Wouldn't the total price be the same though?

    • Can we also apply OZAU40 coupon? As taxes would be around $20.

    • +3

Update: purchased for $223.39 with code OZAU20, with Topcashback (first time using it), it comes to 193.39.

@KrugerOz the cutoff for OZAU40 was $139 USD, which is just over this listing.

    • +1

      Received mine today, looks genuine.

    • I bought one from this store with a maxsun 650m terminator mobo. Arrived today and built it. No dramas at all. All signs point to authentic 7700..
      I particularly recommend the motherboard…

  • +1

damn the buyers remorse from ordering the one last week…im never going to financially recover from this :)

    • +2

      Same here…

    • +2

I bought it at 265, i might have to resign from ozb

    • +2

Yep, mine arrived yesterday but still happy when I look at some stores charging close to $500 for it :)

    • +5

So everyone should jump into the new and super expensive GPUs instead of buying last gen?…

    • +4

These CPU's are new, tray units direct from china. Old?.. its 1 generation old but performance is very similar to the new Zen5 9700X so its still a great CPU and a good buy for people who need it.

      $479 at Aussie retailers.
      https://www.centrecom.com.au/amd-ryzen-7-7700-53-ghz-8-core-…

      $238 from China is a good deal ( AUD + Paypal Fee's )

      • +4

I just had my R7 7700 delivered from the last deal posted. It's building happily now and identifying as a 7700, onboard GPU works

The guys at centrecom were giving me shit saying it wouldn't work, I'd be back to buy a cpu from them. Guess not, saved $220

  • Anyone having issues applying the promo code? It's saying 'This coupon code can't be used in combination with other discounts' when I try to enter it but there's not other visible coupon codes applied in my cart.
