I want one so bad, but can't justify the nearly $1k price tag.
Heatsink is $30USD extra.
All time low price according to CCC.
Hopefully one of you folks out there looking for one of these in particular will be quite happy about this deal.

2
2000 copies of CoD2
Thanks to whichever mod is fixing my crappy titles :-)
Once these get to $500 is whe I'll be looking to get one. Too much at nearly 1K. Here is hoping in a couple of years.
Hmmm I might have a new goal - a quick google shows that the PS5 can accept 8tb SSD's (previously thought that 4tb was the maximum) That would be quite a few games that can be installed…………………………
And when the next 10, 12, 16TB drives come out the PS5 will support them too.
Then I'd (eventually) spend the money to upgrade to the bigger capacity ssd. I just purchased 4x of the Kingston 3000 drives that were featured in this deal: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/878665 - nice little side upgrade for my OS and secondary SSD slot in 2 of my current laptops.
Please don’t spend almost $1k to install games you’ll likely never play.
The temptation to do so will always be there, and I've spent money on far worse things (more money than brains at times lol).
Recently learned that a lot of modern motherboards come with M2 heatsinks included. So It's better to go without the WD one and use the MB heatsink.
The motherboard heatsinks are very thin. Not much thermal mass. I prefer a taller profile heatsink, or using one of those NVMe bifurcation cards that have a fan cooler on them.
you'll find that the mobo heatsinks are variably not better or worse.
On my b550i aorus pro ax - I threw the heatsink away and use the heatsinks that come with the NVME drives.
e.g., the nm790 lowers the temp - my mobo heatsink was increasing heat.
It can't increase heat. Just decreasing it less than the one you already have
It can because the same motherboard heatisnk is sometimes the same piece as the one cooling the hotter chipset, or multiple NVMe drives with 1 heatsink plate. So the hotter drives will heat up the cooler ones too.
@Sleepycat3: Hmmmm I see. That should be a pretty huge heatsink. In the end it will still be helpful and slow down increasing further
this was $936 earlier today from Amazon Germany via Amazon AU can use 10% discounted gift cards brings it down to $842
also could use cashback and no messing around with currency conversion
i'd wait keep an eye on Amazon AU, Amazon UK & Germany via AU seem to go up and down in price throughout the past few days i've often seen it between $930-$995
I wouldn't keep mentioning the gift cards as they aren't available anymore (I know for yourself you may have pre purchased some but it's not a real selling point for anyone else)
Its autimatically adding USD 124 of import duties?
When these first came out on the US site, they were available for low 800s.
I was expecting in 2024 to have 100TB SSD's for $200. We are so behind in tech. Storage tech is the same as it was a decade ago.
Does anyone know if a double sided WD Black 8tb with heatsink will fit in a Lenovo P14s Intel laptop?
How many cods can this fit?
