0% Interest Rate on Credit Card Balance or Part BalanceTransfers - to EXISTING Cr Accounts @ ANZ

180

ANZ have been following up Email offer with two SMS. The offer is to existing card holders, Zero transfer Fee, Zero Interest , on Funds transferred from any store or other credit card facility. Limitations the amount transferred in and any existing balance should not exceed 90% of the Existing Limit. At end of the 12 months or 18/11/2016 the account and balance will revert to - paraphrased - revert to normal conditions of the particular card account held. *** Existing holders will need to phone for the offer -1800007511 as it is not listed on site. ***edit.

Have posted ANZ site details for new holders but look carefully at fees and also ensure card is the one suitable for your needs. In need to to the reps on phone!

Not bad off and I would guess the offer is designed to close 16/11. I have got in reasonable quick as credit cards are under review and the demiGod of Westpac [the CEO] that there will be changes to these style of transfers [my take - harsher and harder guidelines with former account having to close or limit reduced] Goodluck and do do homework.

  • There is nothing in the link which shows this offer. Maybe this is targeted?

  • This offer would be good if not targeted. Can you please screen shot the email? Cheers

Berek and alibabapria. When I was doing my 'due diligence' on receipt of 2nd sms I could not find reference to this offer on ANZ site as I have linked above. I rang general Credit card phone contact from the ANZ site and not the sms number. The staff were quick to advise that this offer is popular without reference to my account. Maybe I sounded nice on the phone.

If it was targeted my apologies you have only lost a 1800 call free landline or 90cent per min on plan if your phone provider is mean. I I phoned up and found that it was not available I would ask what they would do for me.

At this point in my complex life I do not share my current personal details to any credit agencies or store accounts. Sadly there are only one starts with 'T' and the other the 'W'. [ I am more scared of the latter]

Email shredded in the auto sytem I have but sms wording which is what you are looking for """ Limited time offer for ANZ Card Customers: 0% p.a. for the first 12 months on Balance Transfers to your ANZ Credit card. T&C applies see xxxx or ring xxx

second sms === Limited time offer reminder 0% p.a. for first 12 months … so on….

As it worked for me I should have mentioned they use Biller code of the recipient credit provider as well as the card number.

    Goodluck

time delay = two thumb typing!

    • Appreciate the time spent typing with your thumbs :-)

    • Thanks - full picture

  • Scrolling down on the page reveals the low rate and low fee cards all have 16 month 0% interest on balance transfers.

    • As you say for new account holders but watch out for 2% transfer fee. Existing holders Fee free.
extract of point 1. for the low fee cards.

      1. Offer only available to new and approved credit card applicants who apply for an ANZ First, ANZ Platinum, ANZ Low Rate or ANZ Low Rate Platinum credit card account with the balance transfer. This is a limited time only offer which may be withdrawn or changed at any time without notice. Offer available in respect of balances transferred from non-ANZ credit and store card accounts only. Not available in conjunction with other offers, packages or promotions or in respect of balances transferred from an existing ANZ account. The offer must be requested at the time of applying for the credit card. The Balance Transfer Fee (which is a Specific Fee on the credit card account) is

2% of the balance transferred and will be applied at the time the balance is transferred and form part of the Promotional Plan balance. extract see site for all [lovely gruesome] details.

      • Yeah not great for me, moving nearly $20k…

  • I called and got told 16mths but with 2% fee. :-(

Should I try calling again and get a different people?

    • Talk again and if you are an existing client, not looking a limit increase, then ask why there is fee. Do the sums on the break even point, the interest saved against the cost of transfer. I would ring again and ask again without id-ing your account. Ie 'burning rage calling, I am existing an credit card holder and would like to look at fee free transfer into account within limit (translate to correct grammer, English, ).

You may have a card provided may have other offers conditions that may have user fee as against translation fee.

One other point, do some research with other providers is ing, citi, majors, cu by net and phone call. That will give more to discuss about.

If not concerned about credit approval (remember if closing one to another ensure the commitment limit is not assessed in capacity to pay) and another record on your credit score records( y - if going to shortly apply for large line of credit, housing, investment, business)

      Goodluck

      • Thanks will try again tomorrow. This time I won't enter in CRN and see what luck am I getting.

        • I got it! Thanks OP.

For the benefit of this forum, direct calling to 1800 007 511 seems to make it easier.

    • Oops forgot got to mention the 2% applys for " NEW" accounts.

    Nice! Transfered 24k!

Time to buy a new car

    • Or near new second hand car of a higher standard than new model. In theory there in better model, more toys, some warrentry . And you do not have the 5 to 25 drop in price value

  • Wow requested balance transfer at 4pm the money arrived in the account at 6am or so.

so fast! ANZ! Wish I had a bigger limit!

  • I have been wanting to ask others about this offer, thanks for the thread.

I changed to ANZ doing a 9 month balance transfer from another card. Once that was finished and I was using the card as my everyday card. They sent me a letter saying 14months balance transfer for existing holders, which I took advantage of. In the meantime I am using my 28 degrees which is fine.

I got another letter late September for 12 months balance transfer. I was a bit confused because I had one with still around 6 months to go. I was worried that if I do another balance transfer it will nullify the prior one and I'd be paying full interest on it; I called and checked and you can have multiple balance transfers at the same time! This came at a really good time because I needed to renovate my rental property.

I wonder how often ANZ send out these targeted offers? I prefer this type of offer because there is no effect on your credit score.
