  • I wish I was in the market for an upgrade. That's a fantastic device.

    • Cannot agree more. Especially when you feel how light and thin these units are!

  • Would this play battlefield Star Wars? Not expecting maxing out the graphics of course.

    • No.

    • +1

      Star Wars Battlefront.

And, no, don't even bother using IGPs for games like that.

  • How does this compare with a similarly spec'd Dell XPS 13?

    • +2

For same spec's, dell xps 13 will be much more expensive.
However Dell XPS 13 has more "brand recognition" compared to Asus, so that could mean you might get better resale value for the xps.

      • Good point about the price - I didn't notice that this was a touch model too. Dell's touch equivalent is only available in QHD+ resolution and costs hundreds more. I do like the tiny bezel though.

      • +2

That's news to me. I would have thought that most consumers would perceive Asus being more premium than dell.

        • more expensive = more premium :)

I do agree that ASUS is on of the better names in hardware.

        • Just to join in on the topic, I personally have one of the older series. UX301LA with the i7, 256GB, 8GB and Touch. Purchased it a good 2 years ago for $2000 just to give you a bit of an idea on the update in technology.

        • +1

This. Asus is pretty much as good as computers get. Dell is more corporate-oriented gear. Solid, reliable and thoroughly uninspiring!

        • @douglasb:

I would definitely challenge the 'uninspiring' part. Have you actually seen / used the current XPS 13?

I say this on every one of our posts. If you are scared of the online sales, come in store. If you are worried about our return claims you can ship us and go straight to the manufacturer. The negative reviews are only .01% of our total business and sadly in our industry customers only leave feedback when they have a bad experience and never reward our company when they have a good one.

Megabuy staff have taken issue with these links being posted here in the past but since OzBargain is about sharing deals and information with the community and not just free advertising I would like to share this with you agian.

For anyone who's not aware of megabuy's reputation you can find feedback from their customers in the following links.

I believe the major issues with this retailer are ongoing.

I was away and missed the last couple of megabuys posts here…sorry about that.

I'll link back to my previous personal post.
      Previous Response

      • +2

Why do you have multiple accounts? And you never responded to his reply either.

        • One is my personal account. One for company. Both are linked as a store rep, which is totally legitimate.

        • +1

          @MegaBuy:

          which is totally legitimate.

Might be totally legitimate to hold more that one account but how you're using them is hardly in the spirit of this site. I will resist the urge to start name calling but my opinion of you and your company has dropped even lower than I thought possible.

        • @OzBragain: I appreciate you're feedback and I respect it hasn't come to that level. I understand you have a poor outlook on our company and I wish we could change that. But from the posts I don't believe that will happen, either way happy bargains!

        • @MegaBuy: It is not ok to have two accounts on OzBargain and is against our terms and conditions. See

          https://www.ozbargain.com.au/wiki/help:faq_merchants#store_r…

        • @moocher: I was unaware and would have assume if they were linked by store rep and one was my personal account and the other being a shared account that would be considered okay? You're more than welcome to remove my personal account then if it's any issue

        • @MegaBuy: Feel free to talk to us via TWAM.

      • +1

I'm limited to one account on OzBargain but I'll link back to a response to your previous personal post

I'll even copy it here for anyone who doesn't feel like going through the last lot of banter

Now that we know awesome sauce and megabuy accounts are run by the same person I'm sure there are plenty of people here who would be interested to hear your motivation behind

        1. Commenting on your own deal with two accounts
        2. Misusing the comment voting system by upvoting your own comments from a different account (and possibly downvoting those comments you don't like from multiple accounts)
        • My account is my account. Megabuy is our work account which is shared amongst multiple employees. I don't believe I have ever down voted anyone with my personal. The way you word this makes it sound like I'm going out of my way to misuse the system but I think you have it all backwards. I used my personal account so it would come from my account, of which my personal account has been marked as a rep for Megabuy so all can see I am connected.
I'm not going to continue this 'banter' as isn't going to achieve anything at all. As I've said before all of this is simply childish and you're simply looking to either twist my words or dig for a reaction, of which you are welcome to have a field day on this post as you will simply receive no response.

        • @MegaBuy:

Doesn't really address why you were using two accounts on the one post and voting on your own comments…pretty poor form.

Really Really stay away from Megabuy. They are one of the dodgiest companies along with Kogan that I have dealt with.
Believe the reviews when they say they are bad because they are bad.
I would literally buy from anyone else but not Megabuy and Kogan. Had warranty issues with both, super bad customer service and super bad attitude.
If you buy from them just hope you don't have to deal with them if you have any issue. Read the forums that where you learn the truth and not Megabuys BS.

    • -5

I'll happily jump in on this one. With the way warranties are handled in Australian you don't actually have to talk to us. You can purchase this zen book, and if it dies tomorrow you can ring Asus and they will handle the claim for you. You're always welcome to pop into our store and have a chat to our staff. They are quite friendly and I trained them personally so I can vouch for their customer service.

      • +1

That really confirms what @WiseUp said, thanks.

      • +2

So if they want to put a warranty claim you're saying go to the manufacturer, or they can come to the shop to have a "chat". No wonder his warranty claims have been a nightmare. The same old typical Megabuy attitude is still there.

        • -1

Both of you are simply twisting my words. I'm just stating that you don't have to go through our company if you feel there is something wrong with it.
I'm offering the opportunity to come into store for face to face interaction. If you still want to have warranty claims handled through us you are more than welcome, however the manufacturer will always help out as well. Sorry if my original comment made this slightly unclear…

Placed a order online yesterday for this, price wise it's a good deal going around at the moment.
