I can't seem to find any info from the manufacturer's website..
    Horrible Info-less website of TDK
But it looks like they could have a writespeed of only 6MB/s D:

Thanks for the info on the sd cards. Was looking for one for my new camera, but at that speed it's practically useless :-(

I wouldn't trust the specs on the OfficeWorks website. If you remember the 5TB Backup Plus HDD deal, OW had the wrong specs, stating USB 2 rather than USB 3.

The AusPost product image is different to TDK's USB 3 product images and also the OW product image, so not sure what model AusPost are selling.

Product: TDK LoR TF30 USB 3.0 USB Device
      Vendor: Imation Corp.
      Size: 57.65 GB
      VID: 718
      PID: 69c
      Read: 31.14 MB/Sec
      Write: 14.36 MB/Sec

      http://usbspeed.nirsoft.net/?pdesc=TDK+LoR+TF30+USB+3.0+USB+…

There are a number of results posted on the web that give over 10MB/s write speeds.

      E.g. TF30 32GB - http://www.hkepc.com/forum/viewthread.php?tid=1911659

      Read: 80 MB/s
      Write: 10.49 MB/s

The speed could be quite variable between sticks, depending on what components TDK/Imation were able to source at the time.

    • I use TDK To Download movies and tv shows onto and they work fine, I have the 16GB One from Auspost

      • Thanks heaps!
Did you get it from AusPost?

        • +1

Yeah, at Auspost in St Kilda, it was the only one of them they had, in 64gb.
They still had one or two 128gb though.

        • @Vairn:
          Thanks!

      • That seems way too good to be true. Most other benchmarks on that website and the nirsoft website show a max write speed of 15MB/S. Don't know whether they are diff models or if it is luck:

        http://usb3speed.nirsoft.net/?pdesc=TDK+LoR+TF30+USB+3.0+USB…

  • For all the USB stick experts out there… How does the 64/128GB TDK sticks compare to the ones recently sold at Aldi?

    • My advice is always, buy a good one and it will last. These babies come with a 5 year warranty. I ordered mine from Amazon. Super fast.

      Patriot Supersonic Magnum: http://www.patriotmemory.com/product/indexp.jsp?source=0&pro…

Have had it for 4.5 years now, just had it replaced for free as the USB connector detached from the flash memory (probably my fault, but I talked them into replacing it under warranty).

  • Thx op! Just got the 16GB TDK tf35 to go with my tv. Was a good price at a retailer. Havent tested the speeds yet though.
On the back at the box it says that it comes with a 2 year limited warranty. Much shorter warranty compared to the sandisk lifetime warranty , or the 10 years from samsung.

life time warranty means the expected life span of the product which might be 5 years not for your life time, I,Ve had this problem with other products when I say 'I'm still alive can I have a replacement' they reply the product is past it,'s expected lifetime which isn't a stated finite number……. very vague and more a discretionary tine limit than a numerical one.

  • I just got the $30 64GB TDK MicroSD card. They don't have them in the display so you have to ask for them at the counter. When I went, I got the last one in stock - looks like staff don't know about the catalog and shops haven't gotten extra stock but they ring up at the right price. Have the catalog open on your phone or write down the product code, saves a lot of the hassle.

Just opened it up, it takes like ~30 minutes to transfer 10gb. Also you get 58.5GB of usable space instead of 64GB. 2 year warranty as well.

  • Got the TDK 64GB SDXC card. Intend to have it in my phone for use with DriveDroid

    Stats:

    http://usbflashspeed.com/118601

Not as good as I'd hoped, but for $30 for 64GB it's not a bad price.

Will still be keeping an eye out for Sandisk Ultras and Samsung Evo + cards.
