    Quality for young?

      Fantastic feature, isn't it?

Copied their text. Relying on OzB crowd to do their own Google research.

This phone simply kills the Moto G 2015 at this price. However be aware that neither supports NFC.

Does this work for Optus/Telstra 3G and 4G?
    Any experience on quality:
    - voice quality
    - software stability

      • Thanks for the link.

I just found out from that link: http://www.gearbest.com/cell-phones/pp_197994.html
It's slightly more expensive (US $159.89) but better shipping time 5-11 business time, free shipping.

        This http://en.jd.com/product/Meizu-M2-Note-Mobile-Phone-Android-…
        (Payment only accept USD)

shipping time: 45 days free shipping, or 3-30 days EMS for $7.80

Any experience of shipping time from both of these shops?

        • Don't fall for the GB shipping trap. See other OzB posts. I have ordered from both and shipping time frames were similar. With last JD order for the K3 Note, they claimed 60 day shippping but was delivered in 30.

        • @spy:

JD website has lots of different sellers. They all have different shipping times

        • +1

GB is junk. They may use 11 business day shipping but they take their sweet a$$ time processing. They wont notify you of delays nor will they tell you if the item is in stock or not.

The code '4GPHONES' takes $20 off, plus cash rewards - www.cashrewards.com.au/gearbest

        • @Arcinspire:

For starters, they've jacked up the prices and moreover its not taking $20 off. Not sure what you're on about.
In fact the code jacks up the price….

        • @spy:
Ah fair enough, thanks. I only checked the code was working by putting a random item in the cart and applying the code.

I was going to buy this until I realised it's deceiving plastic not aluminium

My K3 took about 5 days to ship from jd and arrived within 30 days, even though they said 60 days. But the deal at the time was US$126.97. I have not rooted it yet and only ran it for a few hours on optus but it said it was connecting at 4G in the top icons.

I would get another K3 for my wife, as her TCL S3 was recalled, if the price was similar. However looking around the prices have gone up across the board. This does seem the best price at the moment.

I paid $160 (not from JD), and would gladly do so again, it's a great phone. Someone who uses an older iPhone told me they were impressed and would consider one when they upgraded

      • Yes I think I was just really lucky with that price and really unlucky with the TCL. Did you root your K3? If so do you have a link?

        • +1
        • I usually root just to get rid of ads, but I haven't seen any resounding success stories, so I just use Firefox with the adblock add-on and I'm pretty happy

        • +1

          @JBOT:

Once you've installed ROW and your 2 OTA updates are done, go into Apps and uninstall all the "Downloaded" apps like Facebook, Asphalt etc. Done and no more random ads or odd behaviour. Clean and stable ROM.

        • @spy: Thanks, it worked out easily. Runs well.

  • Considering buying a Chinese phone and the Lenovo mentioned here looks good but posts like http://blog.teamleadnet.com/2015/06/removing-malware-and-blo… scare me. Should I be scared?

    • +2

Old article. Lenovo's factory Rest of World ROM has no such issues.

  • Ordered a K3 Note from JD last time they were on sale for $126 USD and 15 or so days after ordering I had to cancel and get a refund as they still hadn't processed or shipped my order due to a problem with a third party supplier.

You can get a K3 Note off eBay from a Sydney seller for $255 AUD or from Vickmall in China who apparently process and deliver in under 2 weeks for $165 USD with free tempered glass and silicon case.

    • It took me about a month to get my Lenovo from JD, It was around $168 AU.

    • I ordered mine for $126 too and they shipped within 10 days I had it in 30, just doing the ROW thing now.

    Life saver!
bought one for a friend thanks man!

  • Just a noob question here - it says dual sim and that the second sim slot is "Sim/TF (up to 128GB)" -> is TF just a normal SD or microSD card? i.e. is the memory expandable?

    • MicroSD

  • Next G, LTE 5 & 28 (850, 700) AREN'T SUPPORTED
What good is it ?? (1800 solely isn't good)

5 network types across 13 frequencies, dual-SIM with dual standby and dual 4G

  • The price of the Lenovo K3 Note is incorrect.

Price is $164.99 USD (with coupon you get $10 USD Discount)

    • It has gone up since.

    • +1

Ok Lenovo K3 deal is back on, but only for the lemon variety.

Just purchased one of these with the coupon, ended up being $200.46AUD on a 28degrees credit card.

  • My Note 2 just arrived today.

The tracking info didn't update during it's time in Australia, just said departed Singapore and no further tracking info. Hope this helps anyone waiting on GearBest products.

    It SHOULD come (eventually).

    • Any good? What's the camera like?

      • +1

Wasn't 'turn on and go', since it came with partial Chinese software and FlyMe OS. But once you install google play (very easy, go 'app center' and install 'google installer' and 'google play'. From there you can then proceed to set it up very close to an stock android phone.

Camera is very capable. I haven't had any current flagship phone to compare to, but it's fast, sharp. No complaints.

  • Did anyone buy the Lenovo K3 Note from this deal and have you received it yet? I bought one but still waiting for it… Still no tracking number on JD website for it.

Also I didn't realise this version of the K3 Note doesn't have the 850MHz frequency for 3G. Hope it still works fine with the network over here though…

    • Ok. followed up after 3 weeks and they only just sent it out after my reminder :( Looks like an EVEN longer wait for me
