Was chatting to the agent and they gave me this code to try help me out when the $50 didn't work on one of the hotels. This code did work with the hotel. Code seems generic.

webjet charge 50 dollars 'booking fee' nothing ever is a bargain on there. use it to search and book direct or book elsewhere. beware
Where was that? I haven't purchased yet, but I sure as hell am not paying a $50 booking fee!! Didn't see that on the hotel though, but saw some crappy price guarantee fee or something on the flight booking that made it more expensive then booking on the airlines own site! In addition to the booking fee. That was stupid. Totally agree with you.

And I was happy to finally find a hotel, then the damn $50 discount doesn't work with the hotel … and 5% is only like $16 off :( But better then nothing I guess.

Just checked flights I was interested in.
$1072 cost include $60 in fees.
5% off is $53.6 ($1018)
so now im effectively paying $6.4 in fees.
other sites dont charge fees. and seem to be slightly cheaper too ($988)if they offered 10% off it would be worth it but 5% is nothing.
They charge a price guarantee fee!
Yeah, for flights … it's totally retarded! And there is no explanation on their site as to what that even is.

This means the price you have selected, provided you complete your booking within 30 minutes, will not change. Even if your fare sells out during this time, resulting in a more expensive seat being booked, this cost is covered by Webjet’s Booking Price Guarantee!
This small fee is automatically included in your booking payment summary.
Important Information
Webjet reserves the right to limit liability to $1000 per booking."It's the BS fee to supposedly "HOLD" your flight booking for 30 minutes while you complete your web payment. All other travel websites do it for free. This is a $30 charge in addition to the $50 booking fee. Stay away for booking flights !
TIP for booking hotels - email the hotel you are interested in directly, you'll find in many cases, especially Asia, they will give you a much better price than online as they don't need to pay website advertising commissions

No idea … I only tested it on a hotel. I'm guessing hotels only, but worth trying I guess?
only use them for hotel bookings. with discount codes and cashback, they are often the cheapest when bookings are in the $300-450 vicinity.
Regarding refund, I cancelled a hotel last week and was refunded within a couple of days.
