      • Not all of them have views. I have been to a location in Sydney area (not going to mention which one) which was just a closed gray box with no view.

        • And that's why I said usually ;-)

Looking at the map of the office location on Regus site usually gives a good indication. If it's in the middle of a flat CBD, you'll likely see other buildings.

Staff at an office usually only know their own office, so asking which has the best view is a difficult & unusual question to answer for an office rental business.

My usual is over looking the river, with views to the horizon. Of course other cities have better views, but it's bloody marvelous on a sunny day.

        • +1

          @brucefromaustralia:

Do you work for Regus? I know you posted the deal but you seem to have also commented/replied to every single post on this deal lol!

        • +3

          @ezza:

I have enjoyed Regus since I got 2 previous OzBargain deals. It's something I know about.

The Regus staff are great, so I hope the influx of new faces doesn't cause the problems I think it may.

So I may not be able to show my face in my usual office for a while after this deal. Well, I owe them an umbrella as well. I'll probably slink off to another office.

          WORK? For Regus?
I am a traveller, sitting things out at the moment. I rarely work for anyone - measured in days per decade! Regus would have to pay me far too much.

Why am I always asked if I work for what I know about ;-) (In the mountains in Tasmania, even rangers thought I worked there, organising a mountain rescue of a young woman I found who would have otherwise died from the cold, or helping in helicopter resupplies - I was just out for a walk for 12 days. I enjoy attempting to understand.)

[As this deal is at a slow point, I thought I would indulge myself with this off-topic monologue.]

(When comments are made, My phone tells me. Hence the response rate on this & my usual posts in Telstra deals. It won't last. This is filling in time until the next journey - something far more meaningful.)

And wonderful tonester posted the deal. I am just the monkey dancing to tonester's organ grinding. Yes, that is a weird visual to leave you with :-)

        • +1

@brucefromaustralia: Which organ of yours is tonester grinding?

        • @eug:
eug, I am but the 'straight man' in this comedy act. I merely set up the poorly written jokes for others ;-)

I'd stick to my day job, but I don't have one.

        • +3

@brucefromaustralia: Thanks for all your posts, they're really interesting to read!

Doesn't work anymore? It keeps saying the page is no longer available

    • You seem surprised ;-)

I think the number of new 'members' exceeded the number of valid DinersClub members in Australia entitled to this deal… days ago.

This page is no longer valid.

Time to mark as expired - reported.

      Pronounced Dead at 17553 clicks.

      • +1

Pity legitimate DinersClub members are now locked out of this included benefit of their paid DC membership.

OzBargaining has its benefits collateral damages

  • +1

After an intermission, we now move into the second act.

The program says this is where Regus is awoken by the hoards demanding entry. Will Regus let them in to pillage the coffee & cubicles, or will Regus throw the interlopers out & bolt the doors…

    The curtain rises…

    Thrilling!
I do like these OzBargain operas :-)

    • +2

I tried liking the OzBargain pantomime, but it really was spoilt by jv shouting out all the time "he's behind you", and "what does it normally sell for".

      • +1

Sleep my friend and let the Angels take you to Valhalla

        • A man of culture - Wagner!
Ah, 'Der Ring des Nibelungen' :-)
I could listen to it for days.

        • +1

@brucefromaustralia: Die Walkure is my favourite. I like to play it from my helicopter

        • @clarky:
Always a good choice with a nice drum of napalm :-)

But for tonight, my job is done and the Rhinemaidens are calling. I know I shouldn't, but… coming Woglinde, Wellgunde, Flosshilde, my sugar dumplings.

Ach, du lieber Gott in Himmel! Don't you just hate putting on Lederhosen on a cold night!

  • Anyone tried getting in with the verification email since this offer came to light? And whilst our cards are in the mail?

    • +3

You mean in the last few hours? OzBargainers overseas may have an answer. Most Regus offices in eastern Australia had just opened when you posted.

Have you tried logging in to your Regus account? See if you can use your membership number there.

Doubt there will be an issue YET, based on last deal. I posted details days ago.

It's when they contact you to ask you to provide your legitimate DinersClub membership number, that things heat up ;-)

(That's Act 3 in my opera analogy. We're only at the start of Act 2, indicated by the ominous signs. Act 1 was usual happiness & light, green +'s were seen everywhere, when everything looked so wonderful and full of promise.)

Enjoy it while it lasts. And it may last a long while.
I have still got nearly 2 years membership remaining from the last deal.

  • I'm at Regus darling park in Sydney at this exact moment and the lounge is occupied by 4 uni students talking about their assignment constantly and loudly, 5 including me but I'm the quiet one. Interesting.

  • +2

Pretty annoyed as i wanted to try out their service and see what it was like. Unsure if anyone else had the same experience i just got. I filled out the form while the offer was still valid and submitted it and was approved, i got the confirmation email which told me i would get the card "shortly". After around 10 days i contacted them via email to see if it was still coming just to be sure. They just got back to me and told me the offer is no longer valid, which is confusing as i filled this out the day this was posted on here (15th). I understand their Terms and conditions give them the right to do this and i'm not losing anything as i didn't pay anything but still kind of annoying. I would never have known too had i not contacted them.

Has anyone got their card yet from the thousands which applied?

    • Yep. Got it today.

      • +2

What city? Haven't received a thing by snail mail.

        • I'm in Sydney, but I'd rather be travelling and using this card.

    • I got mine yesterday! Am from Sydeney.

  • Do you have to notify the receptionist when you leave?

  • Have just been able to get a password reset and log in. Previously my email address was unknown, when I have tried. Still have not received a membership card but it may appear in my letterbox any day now. My postcode may have won them over.

  • We got ours. Thanks op.

  • +2

Still haven't received my card yet but have downloaded the app and have used that to gain access to the one in the Citibank building in Sydney - very nice! Coffee's not too shabby and has a nice view looking West over the city (great view of the QVB and can see the Anzac Bridge). Staff are friendly and helpful.

Same. How can they confirm it initially, then decline it?
      Meh.

      edited for spelling

    • Same here…

Just received an email saying the offer is not valid. Bait and switch just to get personal details.

    • Same :(

    • Same

  • +3

    Same. Not a bargain anymore.

    + revoked.

  • +1

Same result here..just got the email saying application for gold membership is declined :-(

  • Declined as well :(

  • Same here :(

    Declined on what basis?

  • +2

Wow this is incredibly deceptive - this is a classic bait and switch and should be reported as such. They even grabbed our personal details as a result of their deception.

And side note, this is incredibly sneaky considering they post this on Friday night (so we can't lodge a complaint till Monday morning).

    • +1

      How did they bait you?

      • +1

Offered a free gold membership in return for your contact details. Then revoke said membership and use the contact details you provided to offer to sell that membership to you instead. It's the very definition of bait.

        • -1

How did they offer it to you?

        • @eug:
On their website where it said "click here and enter code to get free gold membership"? I thought that was kind of obvious.

        • +2

@salem: Did they give you the code? If they didn't, how did they bait any of us?

        • +2

          @salem:
Wrong. DinersClub members were offered free Gold Membership with Regus. If you did not receive the offer directly from DinersClub/Regus, with the code, you were never entitled to it.

      • They offered free membership and we gave them details etc and proceeded

Now they revoke it and offer it to us with a 10% discount.

        • They offered free membership

How did they offer it to you? Did they give you the code to use, or did you find it on this site, which is unaffiliated with them?

        • +4

Regus offered free membership only to valid DinersClub members. The code you entered was given out to DinersClub members.

If I was a DinersClub member, I'd be pissed off that my membership offer to Regus was no longer valid because non-members had grabbed this offer for themselves.

Regus can claim your application for this offer your application was fraudulently obtained.

After all, as a DinersClub member you should have known about the deal & not clicked through from the OzBargain site.

    • +4

"Wow this is incredibly deceptive - this is a classic bait and switch and should be reported as such."

No, applying for a free Regus membership you were never entitled to claim is deceptive. (But we gave it a go!)

"bait and switch", "sneaky" - wrong again. They are totally within their rights to refuse any membership at any time.

The minor discount offered was to soften the blow. There was no need to offer it, or for you to take it up. But you are critical of Regus because of it?

As a prospective member, you have to abide by their t&c to become a member. It's a requirement of membership.

As for "They even grabbed our personal details as a result of their deception.", you provided them willingly. That was despite the application form showing it was a DinersClub promotion - that I assume you aren't a member of.

I warned that the last deal requested DinersClub membership number. Based on problems last deal, this far more popular deal was likely to fail with people upset.

Believe me as a business selling expensive services, they won't be interested in contacting people who can't afford a discounted membership. If you were in business this membership is a normal business deduction. It's a way of weeding out the freeloaders, not a "bait and switch".

You were given 4 weeks free access to free coffee & cubicles. Hope you enjoyed it while it lasted. I warned it may not. But who here heeds warnings or reads t&c.

  • and another company fails to get their t&c's right and then just pulls the rug on the consumer with no retribution.

  • Same here :(

There goes the Ozbargain Christmas party

  • I never received my card. i just got the email also, however my card still shows gold in the App, and when i log on to the website, it still shows i have a gold membership?

I find it funny how they are calling it an "Application" now. Considering i've already got my membership number, and got a confirmation email, and the offer was valid at the time of application.

  • Damn my membership was declined - only offered a Blue level

  • How can our "application" get rejected if it's already been accepted. A membership number was already issued and a confirmation email telling us that we've joined Regus Businessworld and our welcome pack, including our membership card would be mailed out shortly.
