I opened the OzBargain email the minute it arrived. And immediately clicked on the Dick Smith link for discount gift cards. But it was already expired. Was it already expired when posted?
Yup guys, too good to be true but that's what dicky will do if they found any error to their liking and essentially pointed out to their T&Cs to cover themselves. Move along I guess.

Nothing to say its cancelled even though I got the email - kinda bizarre!
They never do. Dick Smith's online ordering system is craptacular. I have an order from June 2014 that still says awaiting fulfilment after they cancelled it due to no stock and refunded me. I have 2 orders from this year saying ready for pickup, one of which I collected already and one for which I had to get a refund because they didn't have stock when I arrived with their message in hand saying to come and collect it. And now I have this order that says complete but was cancelled and refunded (apparently, hasn't arrived at 28 Degrees yet).
So don't expect anything even resembling clarity from their online ordering system; they're a shining example of how not to do it.
$795.50 was refunded back to my Amex overnight.

Still no cancelled order email, no refund and no reply to my email asking about the status of my order and its been over 2 weeks. There must be some consumer protection about refunding in a reasonable time frame????
Yeah I think a few companies do this through selling items they don't have in stock and profiting off receiving interest on the money before refunding the buyer at a future date.
My logic is if it is too good to be true than it probably is.
