I bought one of these a few weeks ago, and now it has dropped $50 :(

You can't buy these in Australia at all, and Amazon has never had it this cheap, according to CamelCamelCamel

There was an online store specialising in Trailers and such, they had a 20% sale a few weeks ago but they wanted US$108 for shipping…..

The revolutionary Travoy helps you do more on your bike. Providing a safe, hassle-free way to haul and transport almost anything, from a week’s worth of groceries, a change of clothes for the office or up to 60 lb. of cargo.

The Travoy hitches to the seatpost of most bikes and rides at a 45-degree angle, redistributing the load’s weight for easier riding. Upon arrival, easily detach the Travoy and with a twist of the wrist, convert it to a rolling cart to wheel along with you. Keeps your valuables secure, even with errands involving multiple stops.

The Travoy comes complete with a basic cargo bag (also stores the folded Travoy), tie-down straps for bulkier cargo, and the revolutionary hitch assembly. Customize your Travoy with a selection of interchangeable bags to fit your lifestyle.

    Thanks for sharing that.

Something else for people to properly consider when thinking of buying one of these:

It might well suit some peoples' needs the best (if the reason you can't buy them is not because of regulations).

For many though, there are all sorts of bike mounted bags, panniers and packs that would suit most applications better than a trailer. Those extra wheels I expect would restrict what the bike can do safely. It depends so much on the application. Panniers are one of the most practical when there is a lot of cargo. In my case, I found that a rear basket on a rack suited my applications: http://www.topeak.com/products/baskets/TrolleyTote.

For the more price conscious Ozbargainer, there is always the proverbial milk crate: http://www.lifehacker.com.au/2012/11/build-a-bicycle-cargo-c…

    • Gee I have a topeak rack that would fit. That is a pretty cool trolley. I just have this one I use for shopping, but the handle is off it. http://www.topeak.com/products/baskets/MTXBasketRear. I'm not that big a fan of it though -it angles forward so I have to remove by seat pack when I use it.

I ride about 99% of the time, work, shopping etc. So stuff like this is useful.

  • Perfect for environmentally friendly click and collect purchases. Thanks OP.

Since the price of the item has changed within seven days of the Estimated delivery date , I've issued a refund for the price difference in the amount of $55.29.You should see the refund in the next 2-3 business days. We can only honor one price drop per item.

Thank you for taking time to contact Amazon.com. We hope you'll keep us in mind for your future purchases.

seems expensive, flimsy and arkward. you can buy a basic, higher capacity flat trailer for 1/2 that price from kmart or similar (i have one). because of its vertical design, stuff will be prone to falling off without a bag, there are no guard rails to stop cargo rubbing on wheels, and crap wheels

Agreed. I can't see the point. It has only a 60lb capacity - not much. Most people would use rack and panniers for that - front panniers too if needed.
I suppose this is for people who want to pull luggage with their carbon-fibre racers (that never race).

The k-mart type trailers (intended for 2 kids) will hold a lot more, and easier to load, but also a lot heavier . OK for occasional trips to the local shopping centre.
If you want a serious trailer for touring or daily use, the single wheel ones are much better. e.g. BOB, but it ain't cheap.

    • Agree with that, you could get this Made In China for $20 the issue is "how many container loads will you order"

I am going to the Canton Fair next month, well worth a visit, BIGGEST trade show on the planet, will see if they are present….

  • $249 on your supplied link - Only $199.20 if you buy it directly from Amazon….

  • I was thinking of something like this for hiking instead of lugging it about on your back, why not a trailer for a person? Sure it would be a bit limiting in rough stuff, but if it had shoulder straps as well could make hiking easier.

  • Found this good looking, but outrageously expensive looking option for hiking, biking, shopping

813 Euros ($1150) shipped for the basic kit!

Another Dutch 2 wheel type (similar money)

The Aussie version $320-395. Looks a bit more rudimentary, but might be ok.

  • I just want to say, even though I haven't had a chance to use mine as yet, there seem to be some negative opinions regarding this product. People saying that panniers are better, or that Bob one wheels are better. Or that you can buy something like this for $20 in China.

All I can tell you is that before purchasing this product I found every review regarding this, from REI to bloggers, bike product reviewers. pretty much 95% of the people that actually used this product find it to be brilliant for it's purpose.

If you don't already have a rear rack or panniers, this product is great for a commuter, someone who wants to travel around the city, going to work, stopping at the market or supermarket on the way home, etc. You don't have to worry about stuff not fitting into panniers, then carrying said panniers, or worrying that someone will steal them. Also, you can barely feel the load when it is on the trailer, many people write about how they have to head check to see if it is still attached.

It is not expensive, flimsy or awkward. If it was, I wouldn't have purchased it.

I don't plan to purchase the Burley bags. I have some bags here that I can repurpose, along with these smart bungee cords: https://www.masters.com.au/product/900030114/smart-bungee-as…

Some good places to read real opinions of the users.
