AEST = Aust Eastern Summer Time ie: AEDT

  • +1

@snappy1234 There is nothing called summer time. AEST and AEDT are 2 different things. Australian Eastern Standard Time and Australian Eastern Daylight Time.

If AEST is summer time then what is standard time called?

  • +1

Crikey @ Geez…pretty sure i heard someone on the ABC call it that :(

    Sorry Bud.

  • @ snappy no worries… was wondering if something changed?

needless to say ebay has stuffed up :(

    • Yes, eBay did stuff up since the promotion started at 10am AEDT on Sunday not 10am AEST as advertised. I guess someone at eBay doesn't know the difference between AEST and AEDT :(

      • To be expected.

  • oh damn it's over.. though looks like I didn't really miss much. apart from some TGG deals early on.

  • Pays to check expiry date lol
Planned on getting some big savings today. At least I'm still cashed up for the next Ozbargain.

  • so, did 827 people actually get good deals? didn't look it from the comments.

    • I for one did. $430 for a dishwasher from Good Guys that ranges in price from $630 (current Good Guys price) to $735 online.

Got a Z2 tablet for at least $70 cheaper than elsewhere. In fact worked out cheaper than what I could have gotten it from the US even before shipping.

        Make that 828, I forgot to + vote ;)

        • My tablet arrived today, very impressed with TGG.

  • have anyone received a notification from TGG ready to pick up? im still waiting for their email, ebay ETA saying it will be yesterday. do i have to call the stores??

    • I got a call within 50 minutes upon purchasing.

    • Definitely call the store.

I ordered on Sunday and as of this morning hadn't received any update.

I called today only to be told that TV that I ordered is out of stock until next week.

    • I bought 4 things from Good Guys - got emails within ~3 hours to say they were ready to collect, except for my Moto360 watch which they ordered in from another store and I got yesterday.
Overall - very happy with the service.

  • No deals for me, the few items I wanted had been artificially increased to compensate any discount. Out of sheer boredom today I emailed both eBay and paypal with details and links about the said practice…no response yet.

If anyone purchased Breville products check out the Breville Promotions page as they have quite a few running on different products..

I applied for a free barista course after purchasing a coffee machine.

  • It would be a good idea if these retailers actually tell their staff that they HAVE an Ebay store! I ordered a couple of things from DIck Smith, pretty happy with the discounted price and opted for free pickup from a large DSE store I pass on the way home from work. Ordered Monday night, received a text from DSE on Tuesday to say the order was ready to pick up. Printed out the pickup email etc, and dropped into the store on my way home, only to get a blank look from the guy behind the counter when I said I was there to pick up an Ebay store order. His response was then pretty much "Ebay???? So how is that anything to do with Dick Smith???" Er, because DSE have an Ebay store …. I showed him the paperwork with the pickup numbers etc and he tapped away on his computer for a while, asked to see my mobile and the texts I'd received about the order, went out the back, came back, onto the computer again, went out the back … finally came back and said "oh, it hasn't been put aside for you, I'll have to go and get it". Then when he comes back with the items "so have you paid for it?". Seriously? Surely their system showed that I'd already paid for the order!!! Just as well I had all the paperwork with me. What a rigmarole … mind you, despite all the "you must show at least two forms of matching ID, one of them photo ID" etc on their emails, he never at any point asked me for any ID!

i don't have this issue at my closes DSE store.
they didn't even check for any form of ID, just asked for my name and what i ordered.
the item was behind the counter with my name, in and out of the store less then 3mins

  • Hey anyone managed to see any CashRewards credit on their accounts? I've made 3 transactions now with CR with different vendors and nothing ever comes up!!! I'm wondering if it's because I've used a coupon as well at the other end.

    • I have. I didn't purchase during this eBay event but have before and it works.

This particular coupon was included, so that won't be the issue. Sometimes it takes a few days or more to show up. You will also get a tracking email from cash rewards.

Did you definitely log in and click through the cash rewards site and then onto the relevant website to make your purchase?

Sometimes coupons do negate the Cash back..

    • Yes. Received email from cr and credit.

  • Anyone else still waiting for their order from TGG?

    • Yep. The only two things i ordered were from TGG and both i havent received or heard anything

      • I did call them, and they said they were delayed alot of orders and was told to wait a few days.

        • Call them yesterday and picked up this afternoon. No issues.

  • Bought the 55 lg tv but still haven't heard from them since the availability.

  • Good old Good guys send me a second hand DVD player, box opened with wear…

    • 2 weeks later and no response from Good guys regarding refund/replacement. eBay dispute pending. Very poor service.

      • December 29th. eBay refunded the full amount after I sent the DVD player back. No response from Good Guys.
        Very disappointing.

  • I got a 32" LG TV from TGG. Email received the next day and picked up the following morning. No issues.

  • Picked up the next day. No issue.

    Week later, still waiting..

  • For a post purchase pricematch from TGG or Masters, does anyone know if they use the discounted price after paypal or the invoiced amount? It would be pretty awesome if they use the pre-paypal invoiced amount…

    • TGG receipt showed prediscount price

      • Yes I know. I was wondering whether they use that price for price matching.

  • Got the Yamaha system, Appliance Online! Thanks to your Melbourne driver for calling up and arranging a suitable time today.

  • finally after a week pushing the store for stock availability, i got the 55 LG tv pickup yesterday. they refund the delivery fee. very very happy with this TV so far

  • Well my ordeal is finally over, ended up getting a refund after being told the tv i ordered was magically discounted, atleast i get my money back(maybe before chrismas, i dont know), but i certainly lost my time having to chase them up 4 times this past week.

Bright side, i get to look forward to the sales(not from tgg, ever) during christmas.

      discounted = discontinued

      • Damn, just when I thought they did a good deed for once, your correction turned it all around!

  • So I've been waiting a week and a half for a star track delivery of a TV from Dick Smith. (from Sydney depot to my home in Sydney). Apparently there's an 8.5 tonne backlog of deliveries - chased them up multiple times and it's on board with driver today finally. Hopefully it actually arrives.

  • Finally received my gopro, thanks OP!

  • Really good deal from DS on the HTC M8, it even arrived fully unlocked, no Vodafone branding or apps at all. $454.50 shipped, bargain !
