No retails would price match online deals. You should know this for many years

      • Officeworks does, though they usually include postage as part of the price (which makes sense).

      • Bunnings' price guarantee applies to any cheaper price found on an online store or in a physical store in Australia. It applies where the other store's final price, inclusive of delivery, taxes, fees and charges, is lower than our price.

        • +1

Yeah I get you on paper it says this, but when you try it doesn't work they will make all sorts of excuse eg. Coupon, voucnher code, Promotional item, stock levels, not including delivery, below cost margins etc.

          Can't expect much.

      • I have price matched MSY at officeworks before. they make you take into account shipping cost, then beat the total by 5%.

    • It sucks, but a lot of places don't match if there is an offer code involved.

    • +1

Refer to this link. It says ONLINE STORE. http://www.bunnings.com.au/price-guarantee

Bunnings' price guarantee applies to any cheaper price found on an online store or in a physical store in Australia. It applies where the other store's final price, inclusive of delivery, taxes, fees and charges, is lower than our price.

      • eBay isn't really a store

    • Stores will not generally price match ebay.

      • officeworks will if they are an Australian seller on ebay, with identical product.

    • I should have mentioned that I was going to buy an item from thegoodguys ebay STORE. Since ebay sees TGG as a RETAILER / STORE (they have a link called VISIT STORE) I thought TGG's ebay store can be categorized an ONLINE STORE.

    Got a 40" Ultra HD LG for $787 - 20% = $629.60 - 2% cash rewards = $617 with free delivery thanks to Appliances Online.

Anyone know if this has been the biggest deal ever on OzBargain? 630 likes and still going =)

    • +4

The better deal was eBay everything 20% not just big retailers

    • +1

    • Can I ask why you are seeking such high res on such a small screen?

  • Thinking of getting some HT speakers. Is there any point getting any if the rear speakers are litterly right up against the lounge your sitting on? Can you adjust it so that's taken into consideration with the balance? I know the pioneer one mentioned earlier is probably better but these are free standing so less hassle to set up.

    • +1

I'd probably get a decent receiver and some 2nd hand monitors instead of a pack.. Unless you don't really care to upgrade in the future and just want the convenience

  • +1

Anyone else had dramas with The Good Guys? I was on my way to pick up my purchase when they called to say they didn't have it and they were trying to source it from another store.

    • +2

Yes I had, after that they called me that they had no stock and cancelled my order. I purchased a samsung tab 10.1 last deal.

      • Saying they have no stock and cancelling orders could be bait advertising. Did they give you a chance to wait until there was more stock?

        • +1

Yes, they asked me to wait 1 month to deliver the item when they called me, but I refused because I couldn't wait for such a long time. Then, we agreed to cancel the order and the money was refunded to my PayPal account.

        • @tlam:

Got mine, took a few days but glad TGG honoured the deal. I hope they punish those sales people who sell stock that's already been sold, wouldn't be hard for TGG to work out who's giving their business a bad reputation.

    • +3

There was another poster who said they were having troubles with stock levels, as ebay wasnt updating properly..

    • +4

Yeah i ordered a HDD from them, was going to collect it but the nearest few stores had no stock supposedly so chose the $5 delivery option.
The email they sent me now says it will be fulfilled by my local store which supposedly has no stock…
Wait and see what happens i guess…

    • +2

They called me and told me one item was fine, no probs.
The other item - a TV - they only had the display model.
I told them to find out how long it would take to get a new one in and let me know. Waiting to hear.

    • +1

Yes, I got told to wait 2 weeks for my gopro.

    • They rang on Monday to said they had stock at another store and asked if I could pick it up from the other store or have it couriered to me. I asked them to courier to the original store so I could collect it when convenient. Still to reply from TGG to say it's ready to collect.

      • It would be in their interest to find stock ..

        Bait advertising

2.27 ‘Bait advertising’ usually happens when a business advertises goods at a certain price but does not have a reasonable supply for customers to buy.

        2.28 For example:

An electronics retailer runs a major national campaign advertising 50-inch televisions at a low price of $799 for a week-long sale. The retailer usually sells about 30 televisions of this type every week. The retailer only stocks two televisions at the advertised price and refuses to take customer orders. When customers attempt to buy the television at the advertised price, they are told it is out of stock and offered a more expensive unit for $999. This is likely to be bait advertising as the retailer does not have a reasonable supply of the advertised television.

Just picked up a Kitchenaid KSM150 from Appliances Online for $534.20…very happy

  • +1

Missed out on the $297 deal for the 8.4 Tab S, so got it from Dick for $362. Not too bad considering next cheapest is JB at $407.

  • +2

Wanted to buy fridge from Appliance Online but their ebay store charging delivery of $150 while their website gives free delivery to Canberra. I called their customer care but they couldn't help regarding to delivery fees on ebay. damn it.

    • +1

did you put your postcode in?

      • +1

yes I did and it came to $150

        • Yes I'm a bit suspicious on the delivery fee as the Smeg Microwave SA384X NEW from Appliances Online (and looks like all microwaves) has a delivery fee of $150 to my postcode in Newcastle.

  • +3

PS4 Far Cry 4 and Dragon Age Inquisition are both listed for $69.98, after discount it's $55.98. Most of other games listed for $90, so I guess be quick if they jack prices up for those two as well.

  • +4

Got Moto G 4G from Good Guys.

20% off the sale price of 229 plus 5 shipping for total of 189, so I'm pleased with that.

  • +1

Ordered the DC59 last night and received a call from the local TGG store saying they've received the order and will be here by Thursday :)! For about $390 can't argue with that!

  • +1

I got one of these last night:

    http://www8.hp.com/au/en/products/laptops/product-detail.htm…

from TGG for $869 with the discount. It was already on sale for $1069 (cheapest on static ice was $1079)

Pretty happy with that, it's for my 10 year old for Christmas, so he can play Minecraft :)

They emailed me this morning saying it was ready for pickup. I'll go grab it soon.

    • +15

you got that kind of laptop for a 10 year old just to play minecraft? -_-

    • +1

      i am disappoint.

    • +2

should have got him a set of leggo from last deal on eBay instead :|

    • +1

I actually ended up cancelling it, got a Dell with the same specs for almost $200 less.
It's not really a powerful laptop, but should be ok for Minecraft, he likes messing with mods and texture packs.

You guys think it's too much for him?

He's been using a 6 year old Dell and it's dying, keeps overheating and it doesn't perform very well, this is just to replace that. I didn't want to get a super cheap one that ended up performing worse than what he already had. I guess I do spoil him.

  • +4

Did any once else receive an email from TGG's with "Web Order Confirmation"? It was addressed to 13 other purchasers as well (full email addresses displayed) - not impressed by TGG's privacy policy!

  • +3

I love how Target put up the prices of the star wars lego prior to this deal,

    • +10

i don't love this at all

  • +5

    Damn no Bosch dishwashers.

  • +2

anyone seen any bluetooth mouse (for use with a surface pro 2) ?

  • +3

Just picked up a Dyson 59 animal for $438.40! Happy dance

    • +2

Thats pretty good price. Must resist

      • +2

Not as good as what I got from the myer deal :)

        • +2

Ordered the DC59 last night and received a call from the local TGG store saying they've received the order and will be here by Thursday :)! For about $390 can't argue with that!

The guy above commented $390 instead.

        • +2

          @eatwell365:

Tis cheapa as its not ze "animal" version thus lacks the mini motorized head thingy.

        • What was the Myer deal?

    • Me too. Kicking myself for missing the Myer deal, but I doubt that price will ever be repeated.

  • +3

Noted that there are 2 versions of Samsung Galaxy Note 4 on DSE web site, one is $899 and other is $949. The $949 model has a "VF" after it ("Vodafone"). Both are same model so you pay $50 more for the VF.

There is also the new Note 4 Edge at $1249.

The Samsung Galaxy Note Edge's curved, asymmetrical shape and brand-new interface deliver a cutting-edge design that really lives up to its name.

It's wider and much pricier than the Note 4 without dramatically increasing the phone's functionality. You'll have to adapt to navigating from a second screen.

Samsung's swooshing Galaxy Note Edge is a triumph of novel design, but its high price tag and minimal extra usability make for a niche appeal.

    • +2

Can you link me to the VF version.

    • +2

I am after Note Edge Black model. But DSE didn't put that on ebay. only White one is available.

  • +2

Got a Sony soundbar $447 -> $357.60, they gave me a free BluRay player that I'll sell on eBay for ~$85, so about $280. And a free Marvel showbag. :)

    • +2

Got the same thing from The Good Guys. But missed out on the 10 Bluray bonus. All 1500 claims have been exhausted.

      • Seems like it is available again!

        • yes i just noticed as well. My lucky day! only 20 left from what i last saw though.

    • +2

can you post a link? can't seem to find any documentation on the bonus stuff.

  • +1

Hey I'm after a decent soundbar where did u find that

    • +2

The Good Guys - Sony HT-770 or something.

  • +4

    any must buy for ozbargainer?

  • +10

Big praise for DSE, plus I should be struck off the OzB membership list.
In drunken moment last night I ordered Sennheiser Momentum on-ears through the cashrewards link.
Feeling pretty pleased with myself I went to bed only to wake up with cold shivers realising I'd forgotten to apply the 20% discount code when checking out.
Quickly wrote to DSE explaining incompetency and they obliged and cancelled sale.
Have now re-ordered with full discount and egg all over face.

    • +23

      err that's not egg buddy

    • +3

DSE ebay prices for some laptops were $200 more expensive than on website. F Dick Smith. Dick can suck my balls, if you'll excuse the pun.

  • +3

Reasonably happy, bought a fitbit flex from DS for $89.60, much cheaper than I've seen anywhere else apart from random ebay sellers but I'm happy to pay more knowing that I have a real walk in business I can take it back to if there are any problems

    • +2

Nice! Thanks for the heads up. I was considering this or the Charge. However, at this price, can't go wrong! I did note that the dick smith eBay ad says $86.60!! A true OzBargainer would demand the extra $3 back!

    • +2

Pardon my ignorance, but what is the big deal about the fitbit flex? I got a Pebble watch cheaper than that from a previous deal.

  • +3

Bought a 164L F&P freezer from Appliances Online. Total comes to $340 including delivered

Now I can finally have a selection of ice-cream as needed :D

    • +3

Yeah, I've been eyeing off chest freezers for awhile.
I would have pulled the trigger last time around they had the ebay deal but they wouldn't let me collect from store - they insisted on charging some ridiculous delivery instead.
This time they had the pick-up in store option - so I jumped on it.
      Got the F&P 216L for about $400.
      Pretty happy with that.

  • +2

Picked up the Kitchenaid MSK150 in White for $535 delivered… MRS will be very happy come Christmas time, as will I when she produces the baked goods !

    • +2

Now just spend another 300 on accessories on Amazon….

  • +2

Any better external hard drives available locally for the same price ?

    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-Western-Digital-2TB-My-Passpo…

  • +3

Thanks OP. Bought a Kindle Paperwhite 4GB from Dick Smith for $143.20. Not the cheapest it's been but still decent.

  • +2

TGG only has the 16gb G3. $480 after discount is still pricey..

    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/LG-2681832-G3-Metallic-Black-Unlo…

Any of them have the 32gb?

    • +2

good deal. was gone yesterday, they should be new stock came i guess

    • +2

I thought the 32GB G3 isn't sold in Australia, and none of those stores sell grey imports I think.

      • +2

hmm, I think you're right. Why is that?

I was after the G3 32gb because of the 3gb RAM. Is it negligible or noticeable between 2gb and 3gb ram?

        • +3

I've read it makes a difference since the phone is prone to lagging with the 2Gb one. I'm rapt with my 3GB version and don't notice any lag.

        • +2

@JasRulz63: thanks! I'll hold out and wait for a good price on the 32gb

        • +2

Can't say I notice any lag (due to memory anyway) or annoying application closures on my 2GB model. Great phone.

  • +2

I bought the Samsung Tab S 8.4" for $359 from TGG.. got 20% off.

Went thru Ebates ( www.ebates.com ) and got another 5% off (rebated to my paypal)

TGG sent me a receipt for the $359 which means i can claim back the tax at TRS when i go overseas next week =)

    • +2

how is the ebates.com works? same as cashrewards? what's that "gift card bonus" mean?

      • +2

just same as cashrewards i assume. it's just a bonus added to your account.

    • +2

How did you get 5% off from ebates on ebay Australia ? could you link us? cheers.

      • +2

i'm not sure.. i just went thru the ebates link to ebay.

        • +2

ebates only has the US eBay store and they are not running the 20% off big brands. If you changed to the AU store from the ebates link to eBay you won't earn cashback from ebates
