Made a mistake buying a Dell laptop without applying the coupon…

Sent them a message and requested order cancellation.

Then proceed to buy another one but applying the code this time, haha.

Hopefully by the time I wake up tomorrow all would be good on that first purchase.

Otherwise.. I'm pretty sure I can return it by just paying the return postage right?!

I might have scored a $100 store credit as well with the 55inch LG TV I bought from GG. Geelong store was having a cash back promo this weekend. I successfully registered my docket but I'm not sure if they will honour it as the docket was dated today and the promo finished yesterday. I guess technically I did buy the TV yesterday so we'll see.

shame I missed out on the 10 Blu Ray pack

I aim to please. It is starting to look like the Universe will seek equilibrium by giving me an bunch of negative votes to compensate. All is well.

EDIT: unless someone goes and gives everyone elses comments a SECOND +vote. That would be bad. Like crossing the streams… never cross the streams.

Hey guys just a quick question:

I'm after a blender and a toaster. The thing is that I want this ones:

    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Breville-BBL605BS-Kinetix-Blender…

    &

    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-Breville-Bit-More-Toaster-4-s…

Do you reckon using the 20%OFF is the cheapest price I would get? Because my gf is suggesting to and buy them in the Boxing Day… Thanks bargainbros

    • +1

try bbl 605 or bbl605sh which are 199 before 20% off. The one you link to is 219 before 20% off. I think the difference is color only. I brought mine yesterday. Happy with it.

      • I think mine is a glass jug and yours is plastic. Can you check?

Also, I need more info about Boxing Day prices, cheaper than this offer or not? TY!

        • +1

yes, mine is bpa free plastic.
BUT, according to Brecille AU official website, ALL 605/605EL/605BS/605CB/605SH ARE describe as "Tritan jug, (BPA Free)" and they are all at the same rrp $249.95. i think TGG may made some mistake on the "glass jug" description. maybe not.
also, u buy now, u can use it starts tomorrow, and u do not have to get up really early to rush to shops. i think that's worth the extra money if boxing day offers better deal. if not, well ,you win.

Perfect timing for me as needed to buy a fridge, microwave and kettle from appliances online/good guys.
Saved a total of $276.79 on those 3 items and possibly even more if I did the 2% cashback correctly.

Also saved my sister $22.40 on the Fit Bit Flex from DSE.

    Thanks OP!

Anyway, no bargain because logitech sells on ebay for $149 and free postage.

I bought and paid $799.20 for iPhone 6 64gb gold from Dick Smith. Then I received an email suggesting that there are pricing error with the listing, and my purchase is cancelled and will be refunded. I am quite disappointed, if they don't want to have the iPhone to be part of the sale, why are they listing during these few days. Or they are suggesting the correct price for iPhone 6 64 gb is $1200.

    • +2

      It's just dodgy dick.

    • +2

I'd be asking about it on ebay - I mean the whole idea is that ebay are the ones paying the 20% anyway - really seems to only be Dick(head)Smith doing these dodgies…

Worst part is that the real guy is actually a nice chap…

    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/LG-55LB6500-55-139cm-FHD-LED-LCD-…

    Which one and why???

Spoke to Torpedo7 about this one this morning, basically tried to claim that maintaining prices on eBay store was too difficult… Mind you the price was RAISED from 9.99 to 17.49 before the sale.

      That is illegal isn't it?

      • It's not worth it. I checked a handful of items last night and did not find one item that was the same price as online.

DC Shoes on the other hand currently have a sale on their eBay store where prices online are fixed at rrp.

I purchased some snow shoes RRP $279, Reduced by store down to $169.95 and after 20% off I paid $135.96 (Free shipping)!

          http://www.consumerlaw.gov.au/content/the_acl/downloads/sale…

          Page 20

          Multiple pricing
A supplier who displays multiple prices for the same goods must either:
          >
sell the goods for the lowest ‘displayed price’
          >
withdraw the goods from sale until the price is corrected.
A price published in a catalogue or advertisement is a ‘displayed price’.
Mistakes in catalogues and advertisements can be fixed by publishing a retraction
in a publication with a similar circulation to the original advertisement

As all of the companies in question have claimed to be the same as those that are on eBay - I see this as an issue of Multiple pricing and that the eBay store should be made to honour the same pricing as their online store counterparts.

        • +1

          @Nightwolf:
Interesting way to look at it.

        • @Nightwolf: You might see it as a Multiple Pricing issue, as might anyone else sensible, but the trouble is if it ever got tested the high priced Lawyers will find a way around it all. No one ever accused the Law of being sensible.
That assumes that these companies haven't already ensured that they are legally separate entities which i suspect they will have done… or they will have discovered that the fines for any breaches may be so insignificant as to warrant taking the risk that no one will care enough to follow through.
Either way I don't see these companies not having done at least some research on maintaining separate pricing and the risk associated with doing so.

  • The good guys new catalogue starts today :) for those interested in the George Forman mix. & go its now reduced to $32.95 :)

I was looking for 60" Samsung TV and DICKSMITH has priced differently on their website compared to Ebay:

    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Samsung-60-152cm-Full-HD-3D-Smart… ~~ $2,349.00

    http://www.dicksmith.com.au/tvs/samsung-60-152cm-fhd-smart-3… ~~ $2,149

So $200 different matches $200 Ebay maximum discount. Oh well! They have to earn money but this is so dodgy.

    • I had the same issue with a 55" Samsung, and Good Guys were much more competitive.

  • Thanks again OP, (this is the second time)

my 5y old 50" lg plasma tv went dead last night after i plugged in my PS4 to play GTA V (how coincidence)

so bought LG - 55LB6500 - 55" Full HD 3D LED Smart TV
    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/LG-55LB6500-55-139cm-FHD-LED-LCD-…

    there goes my xmas bonus

  • Anyone bought any cooktop from TGG? Any good deal?

I was trying to decide what to get….I guess they have decided for me.

  • Any good 55 inches TV ??

  • +4

This whole sale is a bit like that first click frenzy fiasco. It's targeting people who might purchase at sale but there's not really much ON sale.

Individual deals during the year remain much better.

I don't think we know exactly what the deal is with ebay. You'd think, that if the ebay is really picking up the tab for this 20%, that the store would offer a genuine sale price that was actually worth buying, not jacking up prices so you're lucky if you get $5 off.

I did buy my fridge but only because it was $5 off AO's last sale price and I specifically don't want to buy from them anymore. They are becoming sneakier and snakier as time goes on. They must have a new marketing manager who is mighty slithery.

  • Anyone selling iphone 5's or 6's on this sale? I can't find one :(

    • u won't see iphones on this sale

  • Bought a Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet from TGG last night, was shipped this morning. Now I just have to wait 3 weeks or so to be allowed it.

Price was pretty good, roughly $70 cheaper than anywhere else inc shipping.

    • Got mine for $445 during eBay's first 15% sale. It's a good tablet. Make sure you pick up a smartcase and do NOT upgrade to the newest android version or it'll (profanity) up your smart closing function!

      • lol OK, I have the white official case ordered. Hopefully that isn't blocked by the latest few is it?

        • The whole function is disabled. Now no one knows when they'll release the next update to fix it.

  • Got a Galaxy S5 for $583.44 including 2% CB at TGG. :D

Best laptop deal I could find pretty good price.

  • If only i read the terms and conditions - 3 transactions per account. Had to call up TGG to cancel my order and they've told me his had plenty of people call up to cancel orders as they've also been caught out on the 3 transactions liner. Makes me feel a little better…

    • You can use the same eBay account (the code will work) but you must use a different PayPal account to pay for purchases 4 to 6 or else the price goes up (with a little error message, easily missed) at the PayPal payment screen.

Note, you cannot have the same credit card registered with 2 PayPal accounts - so must use a second credit card or bank account etc for the second PayPal account.

  • Had a look at good guys catalogue they selling sony sound bar for 378 its on ebay store however it comes with bonuses on good guys. If i buy on ebay would i get these bonuses?

  • TGG has dropped the price of the S5 from $778 to $748. I'm upgrading from an S3 should I bite the bullet or hold off for better deals over the next few months eg see where the Z3 price heads)?

Appliances Online want to charge $150 shipping to send one Microwave from Sydney to Newcastle!? Who's bringing it? Katy Perry?

    • I guess AO have free delivery to metro areas only? did u try the postcode calculator?

      • Unfortunately yes. Also went all the way through checkout hoping for a more realistic shipping quote which never came.

In comparison good guys quoted $13.75 to ship a microwave. They don't do Smeg though sadly.

  • Does anyone know the difference between the normal DC59 and the animal version? Can't seem to find much info regarding the difference

    • +1

animal = extra motorised head attachment.

  • I have to neg this deal from my perspective. The discount requires use of PayPal to get the discount. Payment from my debit card was rejected even though I have plenty of money on the account so I used my credit card account which is also linked via PayPal and was rejected for it too. No texts from my bank saying they suspect anything or no funds. This was trying to buy Dyson DC59 from The Good Guys.

Before this, I tried buying the Pebble Steel from Dick Smith and it said you need to enter a quanity of 1 or more however when I enter 1 it says I need to enter a quantity of 0 or less. It said pick-up only and when I selected Albury it showed no stock even though I know sure there is stock (was in store today). In the off chance they sold their remaining stock this afternoon I chose Wangaratta pick-up and eBay showed it was in stock. I was happy until I realised I still couldn't check out with a quantity of 1.

    Feeling sour.

    • I had similar experience and the deal said its on till 12pm AEST… which means it should still be on… but its not

  • Damn, didn't find anything to buy this time around. Perhaps a good thing.

  • Deal ends at 23:59 AEST. Its only 23:12 AEST now and its already expired. shame.

  • Why can't they advertise these right? Was just going to do a last minute purchase of an air con, only to find the code is expired again. It's only 23:19 AEST!! Not happy!
