You can preorder the Galaxy Note 4 now with Virgin.

preorders are not bargains. This is Virgin's normal price for this phone…

    • This previous deal was a preorder at the time and also is Virgins normal price
      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/161078
Obviously a lot of people appreciated the post including me, so just letting the ozbaragain community know about this deal :)

      • +3

Alot of people including myself thinks plans are not deals but we just get negged when posting on such posts so most of the time simpy not post on them.

      • +3

and also is Virgins normal price

normal price means the price is not reduced. there is no saving to me made…

All you are doing is advertising Virgin's normal plan. Announcements belong in the forums.

        • +1

Well… not entirely their normal price when there's the 2GB extra deal.
Duplicated deal maybe… but then the post before was for the iPhone.

          @clse945111:

when there's the 2GB extra deal.

that's been available for months now. I got it back in March.

anyway, OP only added that part to the title after my comment…

its a good deal, preorder or not.

57*24 = $1368 and the phone costs $949. So you're essentially paying $419 for the plan or $17.4/month which is pretty good imo.

    • +1

      Its hardly a good deal…

For starters it was on sale at DSE today for $854. Its likely we are going to see another discount somewhere before the release date.

Then you have to assume in 24 months you don't want to use more then $300 of "value" per month and that you never go over these limits.

It says if you don't make text messages or MMS you can make 127 2 minute calls… which is nothing.

I don't think there will be many people who will go with this deal and not end up paying excess usage charges.

      • The 2.3gb of data per month is what makes it a good deal. Normally to get that much data you need to be on the $73 plan at vodafone

        • +2

Normally to get that much data you need to be on the $73 plan at vodafone

          I've got 2GB on a $39 plan with Virgin earlier this year…
They've been offering extra Gb's for about 8-9 months now, every time it expires, they extend it by another month or two…

        • There are other optus 4G resellers that have that much data. Spinitel for example.

        • Yeah nothing special for me either, for me it's about buying outright. I own my phones: recharged $750 Vf - purchased from a supermarket ($30 after -$10/wk off $40+). 2GB, NO chance of excess, includes 3X as many minutes allowance (that I flex into +16GB, conveniently enough …valued customer).

        • +1

A good deal (or a great deal), as @daver points out is something like up to ~14GB Telstra data for $44/mth(+$240 for iPhone5) (or up to 16GB Vodafone data for $30/mth).

      • Is the DSE deal still on? It's showing $949 on their site?

    • The phone RRP is $1050

    250 min pm; o.3gb(2gb +52$gb) . This isn't much chop.

    $300 INCL VALUE
Can people really survive on that? That's very anaemic

    • +2

Na.. that stops me. I was tempted but with that $300 no way.

    • +2

Good for people who don't call… like me.

      • +1

Best plan in the market even if you go from $57 to $63 plan with http://virginmobile.com.au/shop/Note-4-Black.

Besides you get to carry over any un-used call/sms credits the following month.

    • +1

The credit can be rolled over

    • I pay $10/month for $20 calls on Hot for Vodafone - fine for me as I don't make many calls at all. Mainly use data for which I have a separate data pack for. If I could get a plan with lots of data and no free calls then that would suit me fine :)

  • so you DON'T? get the extra 2GB Data if you port over from non-Optus provider????

    wtf?

so it's ONLY aimed at current Telstra or Voda customer?

    • +2

Buy a $2 voda sim and port out first

"or you upgrade with us, and connect to a 24 month Virgin Mobile Postpaid plan"

  • Very poor customer service. I was planning to switch to virgin but they have messed up with my order, spoke with 5 different people all left me stranded without any solutions. Think 1000 times before you switch.

    • +1

1000 times :s After reading about all the telcos, it doesn't look like I should bother going to any of them.

  • intrigued at reading this _meta- tidbit also on their cis-30-Summary ~
virginmobile.com.au/got-a-gripe …like they're aware how bad they are @ supplying data, that they've postulated your future thereof. 8^[ ..wouldn't like to deal with them either.

    • when you go to virginmobile.com.au/got-a-gripe

"The page you were looking for has either moved, is temporarily unavailable, or has a different address to what was entered."

      Ummm…

      • Link is working fine for me.

      • /go-gripe Fwiw. </inconsistent site>

FYI I'm an existing Vodafone customer on Hot for Vodafone and managed to get them to effectively 'price match' Virgin. I've signed up for a $30/month plan + $30/month handset repayments and they're adding on their 2.5gb datapack worth $20/month free and I also get the bonus Samsung headphones and the first 2 months of 'unlimited' data. Pretty happy with the deal. They also waived the rest of my current datapack contract.

    • I'm currently on a $50 BYO plan with Telstra but want to jump ship when my OPO arrives soon for the $30 plan with Virgin (similar allowances). Do you think if I am inform Telstra of this proposed move they would be willing to match the $30 plan? I am a bit of a n00b when it comes to mobile phone contracts and Telcos.

    • Hey Julz, I recently ordered my note 4 for like $68 dollars from vodafone and your deal makes mine feel like it's rubbish :(

Do you mind me asking how you got the price match? I've talked to the manager of the vodafone customer service, but he kept on telling me he cannot add extra internet plan.

If possible, if you can give us a screenshot of the confirmation of the deal or something, I think it will be really helpful for others!

      p.s. I only got 900mb internet data with $68 dollar plan :(

  • Not sure if I should sign up or wait for a better deal? really want this phone but I'm assuming a better will come out on release date :P

Not even sure if 2.3-2.5GB will be enough for me on this 4G network, currently on 3.5G telstra :/
