  • The $39 Kmart one goes well with my 1500W inverter + 12V lithium.

    • Isn't it tiny?

      • +1

It's pretty small, but that's why it's good for that use case. All the other microwaves I've seen are too power hungry.

        • Any idea how many watts does it draws on average when you use it? Its rated on the Kmart website as "700-1200W"…

i find the Kmart one glass plate shifts too easy

Fun fact: you can buy 30 microwaves or 1 $5k suit.

These are seriously the weakest pos microwaves on the market. Samsung should stick to phones.

Its because you arent calling it right, its a Micro Warvay

Samsung appliances aren’t great. Wouldn’t really want their quality.

    • Really? Was thinking to get samsung dish and cloth washing machine

      • +1

Don’t do it , buy Bosch

      • +1

Yep they’re known to be terrible, their white goods are terrible.

But a Bosch if you want it to last.

        • +1

yep our current washing machine was bosch bought hmmm… almost 10yo ago, and yes i am kind of wishing it to break so i can get new one hahaha…. it just run and run without any issues
but some new model from samsung are so cool i want it - until now….. thanks will avoid

@CyberMurning: Yep anything Samsung generally lasts about 2 or so years and craps the bed.

Also a major headache to claim warranty on. Unfortunately not worth it!

Panasonic Microwave user for the past 40 years.

Got a 2nd hand one when I moved out of home - was already 15 years old.

Just after buying a house in the mid 2000s (when houses were still actually affordable…

My Ex-Wife and I bought a Panasonic Inverter Microwave NNSD686S 32L - with a Rotary Dial to set the cook time. It was a bit up market at the time, maybe low to mid $300s??, back in 2006.

It’s almost 25 years later and except for the light bulb dying in its first year of life and being covered by warranty, it still runs perfectly today. On the same light globe as was replaced in 2006!

After nearly 25 years this is still going strong and I managed to secure it in the divorce!!

Looking at Panasonic now, I’m not sure whether I’d get another one. Local TGG tells me they sell predominantly LG microwaves, and Panasonic hasn’t been a top choice for more than 10 years.

They also said Sharp, but lots of warranty issues with those, and some buy Samsung but LG would out sell them all by a big factor.

I don’t like the look of the Samsungs and TGG guy said they sell more Panasonics than Samsung. Maybe it’s just that store.

I would buy a Panasonic again, sales guy said they are not the same quality as they once were.

Anyone comment on popular Microwave brands now please?

    • Looks like Panasonic will last the distance (i really want to say it lasted longer the marriage, but decided not to, due to Kama).

Hey i'm using one as well and no sign of breaking down, even i want a new one.

  • A 32l at this price is cheap for sure, but they don’t make Microwaves to last anymore. I don’t think any appliances get the same life as we used to see. The trade off is lack of electrical repair shops as well. Need new people to train up in that game, everyone was doing that for a job are retiring or have retired. Only a few decent places left. (Regional VIC and Melbourne)

  • You can get a price beat on this model with Good Guys for $152 pickup. I just placed an order.
