I called virgin yesterday to get a clue about when the sale might start. The guy on the phone wasn't particularly helpful and just said "tomorrow". I also asked if I don't get the ps4 will it be okay to cancel my order, he said no once you order you sign a contract and that's it. Doesn't sound right. That said, going on that customer service experience I'd be happy to stick with optus.

Well the way they run their promo is pretty shite just like their reception. Doesn't even tell people when it starts.
Just got of the phone to virgin. They received an email stating it would open at the start of business hours and such telling people who called to check at 8am. They are trying to get further instruction but it seems most people working there don't even know now!
Also confirmed it was for 100 successful applications, which means successful credit check also rather then just being the first 100 to register.
I think they are just saying stuff that they dont really know for sure..
Anyone having any luck with the website? It just says "Pre-Order opens 3 Oct" for me.

Lol, I just got a page not found error. I think it's safe to say that there are more than 100 other people trying if the site is so screwy. So I'm not taking a chance with the contract as it's probably a waste of time now, and most likely will not get the PS4 :(

Spent 20 minutes refreshing the pages using virgin mobile internet, no go, gave up trying and maybe time to give up their hopeless internet as well.

I'm currently on Vaya. So what i'm planning to do is port to vodafone today then port to virign or alternatively port to Virign prepaid then upgrade.
Both were plausible judging by what virgin customer service has said and both can be done once I received the new phone since the it will be shipped as a new number that has not been activated.
If Virgins web infrastructure is anything to go by I'm very happy I missed out.
Runs on 100% of the Optus network. Since Telstra> Optus > Vodafone, you're only left with Telstra.
Anything is better than Vodafone. I've been quite happy with TPG on Optus network for the last couple of years.

PS4 notification will only be given on 8 Oct? Phone to be shipped 7 Oct?
Timing might be close if your refusing on the basis that you didn't get a PS4.
