I went through the process twice, each time it crashed as it was finalising 'Growing a beard, tuning a guitar'.
However I received one confirmation email, unfortunately for the later one. SO who knows we might get a hundred entries
I've called them now. She said that the people who got the PS4 will be contacted via SMS in the next 24-48 hours.
If I do not wish to start the contract I should decline the delivery and don't open the phone package. The first charge would only happen from the moment the phone is activated. Got the attendant name.
She also said that due to the credit check they are not able to confirm it straight away, which is fair enough, but it kind of lets them "choose" who to give it to.
Still not 100% confident, though.

So i suppose if you only really wanted it if you had the PS4, then dont accept package, get them to take it back to warehouse and they will cancel your order..

So, the 'SA' and 'E' in the order number does seem like random (could be new customer or upgrade indicator as mentioned earlier) and not an indication whether you are the first 100 or not.

Well I got the confirmation at 11.13 Am and the order number starts from "U". I am upgrading my plan.
Reality check time.
There are order numbers in here that are 2000 less than the order numbers I saw from two people who got through about 11:40 and 11:50 (their order numbers differed by 360).
Nobody who had to go through the address verification (ie, nobody starting a new account and not upgrading) is likely to have been anywhere close to the 100 because it took ages to do so.
E is obviously existing customer, SA is new account. The order number appears to be sequential (ie, the order numbers, aside from the prefix looked to be sequential). Has nothing to do with if you're getting a PS4. They are not going to change their order numbers just for a 100 PS4s, there is no information to be learned from order number other than your sequential placing.
You have to also consider that the SA and E are also used for other sales over the phone and in store for all phones (e.g. iPhones etc) & contracts (BYO, Internet dongle).

I am just curious guys… Are you guys gonna keep the phone if you are not the first 100 customer or you guys just cancel the pre order by refuse the delivery ?
refuse because I'd rather be off contract and buy the device separately. Also because I am more interested on the compact version.

This is Austrlian Telco Billing and Order systems and platforms for you. All Telstra/Vodafone/Optus/Virgin systems and website cant handle millions of orders that gets placed. They were designed for 1000 orders a day max !
So you are saying the series or the order number is not limited to Virgin?

Hopefully the rules are straight forward and its the first 100 pre orders - the offer went live at around 11:06 am and orders up to 11:41am seem to mention they were told that they were under 100.

Just called Virgin, they told me that they are currently "re-evaluating" the orders, because some customers tried to upgrade and preorder the Z3 for the PS4 bonus, but still are ineligible for the upgrade (like say, still some months into their contract).
They told me that the back office is now currently sifting thru the ineligible ugrades, and will be pushing forward preorders which are eligible. Definitely the email confirmation will be sent today.
Good news for some I suppose, especially new customers.
Also, I was told that I was the 10th customer handled by the service consultant. Must be a lot of people after their PS4s.
On the other hand, phone delivery is still inconclusive if it will be released this week. :( I was told of a one week turnaround.
Do you known if this applies to the people who are allowed to upgrade early? If so that is unfortunate for me and wish the best of luck to everyone else.

The guy I was talking to was really inconclusive on the info that they have, so until I receive the actual email saying I got the PS4, I wont believe anything that they say atm. Hehe..

If referring to the Sony Xperia Z3 confirmation mine was received at 11:24 am. Therefore, if* the rep was correct everyone with a valid confirmation before that time should win a ps4.
+Please take what the rep said about the ps4 with grain of salt until the SMS confirmation.
I just called Virgin mobile helpline and this is what they said.
1) My order is confirmed and will be dispatched in 7 days (I ordered at 12:17am on 3rd of oct as upgrade)
2) They said all the customer which are still under the contract of existing contract, will not be eligible for PS4 or Z3
3) The top 100 PS4 winners are in a process of short-listing (as some of the orders are yet to be cancelled) and the winners of PS4 will deal will be informed VIA email (shortly, maybe tomorrow)

This is the question, normally they allow you to upgrade 3 months before your contract supposed to end. Are these eligible for PS4, if they are eligible for Z3?

I checked midnight, then from 8ish all the way to 11ish refreshed every few mins. Finally saw the prepaid button available and selected the plan to order, then site had issue loaded… i got my confirmation at 11.45am

how deliberate was that? 11:32 and you didn't get it, but they only informed it was gone by 11:48 AM, so they could accumulate dozens of orders and people might "mmkay" and remain client.
I guess its good in a way, people can cancel now before the phone is shipped. Saves them some money on shipping fees.

Cancelling my order
Im a new customer (Order confirmation 11:28) and spoke to them that arvo and completed my credit check and got immediate confirmation of successful order (Oral confirmation). Operator advised that i was in the top 100. Took it with a pinch of Salt as she could only give oral confirmation.

I did the same, im a new customer, once i got the email confirmation saying my order was being reviewed, i called to confirm the security check.
However no one told me im one of the first hundred.
If it's any consolation, my order was at 11:28, and I still missed out.
Probably should not cancel yet, there is no guarantee they finish sending the SMS.
Would be a bummer if you cancel then receive the sms…
From what's said earlier, you can still refuse the delivery and the order will be cancelled (?) so perhaps this is the better option?

Looks like everyone with an M order who later got a SAXXXX order email are out of luck. Another friend got an M order which is M30451X and he also did not get any SMS.
This is called a luck. it was timed out around 11.27 in my third attempt,so close. my 4th attempt was successful on 11.46 which is turn out to be not enough.
No SMS for me :(. Does any know when the SMS will stop being sent?
