  • Consider stacking it with other current DSE deals - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/deals/dicksmith.com.au

Nope; only "YG10606" is excluded, "YG10606TLOU" is not :)

Just got a Chromecast + Chocolat Eneloop + Free delivery for $53.98.

I Never got the chance to grab a Chromecast when they had a deal. Considering Eneloop was on a deal already, Chromecast would be $34, which is great!

    Thanks Op!

Good to see dick smith doing site maintenance in the middle of a work day.

    • It was probably YG10606TLOU - (anecdotal) confirmation below.

  • TLOU not valid argh

  • code not valid ???

    • Which item(s) are you trying to buy?

      • +1

fixed had to do as guest and then link to account at the end 4 packs of rouge aa eneloops for me hope they honor this

  • +2

Time to get an iPod classic :D

  • +1

for those of you having code is not valid message may want to log out and check out as guest or create a new account

    • checked through as a guest, no problems at all.

  • 300 uses probably used up

    • +3

No one believes these are limited, it's likely just a psychological marketing tactic. (or grants them an excuse to cancel orders which they've failed to correctly apply the promo code to, eg. multiple times).

  • +1

Initially it said not valid, then when I check out as guest it was fine. Thanks!

  • +1

Pity it excludes games, whats the cheapest for Destiny PS4?

  • Can confirm code did not work if I was logged in. Used the same email address as guest though. I got a notification at the end "We noticed you have an account but didn't log in. You can still link this order to your account by entering your password." I'm not going to. Will see if they cancel the order put through as guest. Clearly they have the ability to check if you're a member based on your email address (and probably street address too)? So I wonder whether refusing the code to registered users is an unintended quirk of the system or whether it's built in such a way they can only do the check afterwards. How far would they go? If I wanted to be sure I'd get it I could have shipped to a relative I trust that doesn't have an account.

As much as I like the bargains I hate the pressure sales in these bargains by DSE lately. 1 and 2 hours to make up your mind in the middle of a work day isn't good. They're just going to end up building resentment to the brand because people will have buyers remorse over some items and remorse over missing others. I don't understand Australian retail. It's crazy.

(I didn't grab the Canon SX50HS for ~$249 and now after a lot of research and having a play with files other photographers have posted I regret it. If it comes up again I'll grab it).

Edit: I wonder if the problem is that if they block a user based on email address without password (assuming a rule only one redemption per user), they are then divulging that information (that a redemption has happened in the past) to anyone who enters that email address. i.e. They leak private information.

    • Well after calling up multiple times since last Friday they're finally admitting they have no stock of the eneloop rouge and cancelled my order.

Friday morning: Told I would get tracking number by email same day.

Friday late afternoon: Told I would get tracking number by email same day. Told there had been a glitch with their system.

Monday: Told it had been escalated and a supervisor would get back to me. Told they were arranging shipping from a different warehouse. When I complained on the Facebook page, someone got back to me within 2 minutes assuring me someone would look into it but of course that did not happen.

Tuesday(Today): Finally admit no stock after I mentioned the rouge was no longer on their site.

Each time something like half an hour on hold waiting to be answered and another 5-10 minutes calling warehouses. I'm not sure what's more annoying. The hours wasted with them; the fact that they would probably have kept my money indefinitely until I did call in; or the fact that they didn't honour the deal.(Based on other complaints and similar responses on their Facebook page I would guess someone is being paid to force staff to respond quickly knowing there will be no follow up. Such "social media management" only serves to make the company look worse).

After a handful of average experiences and a handful of good experiences this one has woken me up to the fact that every time I deal with them it is a gamble. I won't be bothering wtih them anymore. It's not a bargain if you have to spend hours chasing it up and you get nothing for your trouble. I am not in the habit of giving companies indefinite interest free loans while they park an order they know they won't be able to fulfil.

      • So finally have my money back on my credit card this morning. 2 weeks and about 4 hours on phone/email/facebook after the order was placed.

Really hope they include gaming software next time, want to grab titles for $55 (I would grab like 4 titles in one go, please DSE!!!!)

    • One would think crusading for all those treasures would have left you with quite a bank account, I think Nathan Drake can afford to spend 15 dollars extra per game! Also shouldn't Sony just throw games at you???

LOLOLOLOL. Feel like playing Uncharted again.

  • Just checked brother printer, it actually more expensive than others like TGG, DSE bump up the price to misleading peoples. Please check price before you buy, DSE cannot be trust.

  • I no longer play WOW but you can get two 60 day game cards@$34.98 each and apply the code so the total is only AU$54.96.

Worked for me with a click and collect from the Chadstone (VIC) DSE. I tried Camberwell and Doncaster but they only had one left according to the website.

Probably one of the cheapest cards I've seen in a while.

    PS: Free delivery as well.

  • Thanks. Bought Dad a Huawei G526 4G for $114 delivered.

  • I see delivery for Sanyo Rouge for $0.

Hmm so far my order adds up to $40 for a AAA and AA pack.. Just need to find something that cost $25 or so?

  • Only 1 (one) discount per transaction per customer is permitted.

Ugh! Must've missed this. I guess Dick Smith is going to cancel some of my orders. :/

    • +2

Doesn't that just mean you don't get 2 discounts of $15 on the one transaction? Doesn't mean a customer can't have 2 transactions the way I read that statement?

      • Hmmm, then they could have just said only 1 discount per transaction, but yes, I agree with you. Reading it again there seems to be nothing wrong with using it as often as you want, just not more than once per transaction. Thanks for pointing it out!

  • Hard to choose. Probably chromecast + $30 Telstra starter = $54
