  • unless you don't meet the income requirements, or you plan on making payments late (which would be silly in itself), there doesn't appear to be any reason to get this card instead of the fee-free-for-life platinum/signature card:

    • 0% BT for 12 Months?

      • yeah, i was editing my post when you replied! :)

i was going to say, i guess if you want the extra 6 months of balance transfer (the platinum/signature deal gives 6 months), then this might be worth it. but the platinum/signature card is the better card otherwise (has travel insurance and rewards points).

oh, and turns out income requirements for platinum and simplicity are the same anyway!

        • Only thing is i dont think you can get the platinum card for free anymore
Only the signature card for free .. which is 75k income

        • @SmiTTy:

looks like you're right…ok, go back to my original comment: "unless you don't meet the income requirements". :)

      • if you are lucky you will get this with the platinum card anyway..

I got the 6mths free when the card the promo first started, paid it off (transferred to ANZ platinum for another 12mths interest free) and last week Citi called and asked if I wanted another 6mth interest free 'cheque to self'..

so if you want a short term interest free loan, its quite handy ;)

If you have a balance on another card paying 20% interest, then getting this card will save you paying that interest for a whole year.

      You don't say.

        Haha. I'm just highlighting it.

        • remember that is a waste of time if you're not going to actually pay it off. figure out how much you need to save out of each pay to have enough in 12 months, and automatically hide it from yourself each pay.

        • @sidesh0w: even if you're not going to pay it off you will save a lot on interest until the 12 months is over. of course you would be stupid to not pay it off tho

  • No late fees? How late can you be? Can you like, never pay it back?

    • I think you won't get charged any fees if you don't pay up at the end of the billing cycle, but you'll still be burnt with the interest charged for unsettled transactions.
