I wonder if hes with dodo?

        • Fairly sure HTTP 500 errors aren't client side. Just tried again, error has changed but it's still not happy.

Everyone who is a customer will have got this email already..
But I didn't know they did ADSL2+ and it's dirt cheap!

    They're reselling iPrimus/AAPT DSLAMs

  • wow their mobile pre paid deals are pretty good too. glad i found this as woolworths mobile is discontinued a few days ago…

gonna try sign up for their pre paid and then get this adsl for the $50

im with vaya mobile… so things to look out for,

      1. Customer service is Horrendous at best! (You get what you pay for)
      2. Sometimes for no apparent reason i will stop being able to send SMS the last time this happened it took more than a day for it to come back … i logged a support call but they got back to me the day after it was ok loll… and said turn off and on your phone (which i had already said i had done in the original request)..yes i know they are an optus re-seller but i smell a conspiracy.. loll

I went from TPG to them because of 4G and tgp as bad as they are were way way better in customer service and this "sms" gremlin never used to happen before… oh also when porting your number have the lowest amount of expectation possible because it took 2 days AFTER my number was ported for everything to work… i.e. to receive calls and text or be able to make calls or send text… and this was after my number was ported from… tpg optus to vaya optus. cant imagine what its like from another carrier ..hehehe

i'm tempted to try their adsl but im not in the mood for the pain this might bring into my life.. hehehe

      • Customer service is certainly horrendous. I've been trying to change to the $18 4G plan since September and they just don't seem capable of it. I called up 5 times. Sent 3 emails and complained on their FB.

I've given up and just stayed on the $17 3G plan.

good god!… you would have thought that stuff can be done online without any need to talk to them… talking to them would surely end up with me breaking my phone! hehe

i honestly dont know what their margins are or if they are a company that is purely there to run at a loss … but i seriously think they block services every now and again specially on the 4g plans… just speculation and assuming they get charged in bulk by optus so they over subscribe the amount they are paying for and when they are about to go over that bam they have an "issue" hehehehe

i forgot to mention once i was apparently going over my data limit (i was nowhere near it) and they blocked my data for i think nearly 3 days.. i couldn't be bothered calling them based on previous issues.. hehehe

          i love conspiracies!

Imagine how good their adsl would be…. YIKES!

        • I'm with LiveConnected (owned by Vaya) and just checked my usage. Apparently I used 9mb of data at 7:45am on the southside of Brisbane. Pretty sure I was asleep, at home, connected to wifi, in the CBD area at that time.

        • I'm with LC (coming up to 2 years) and can't say I've ever had a problem…
But Adelaide seems to have pretty decent Optus coverage unlike Melb/Sydney where people complain of slow network and blackspots

        • thanks for the info guys, ill probably go with the telechoice kogan plans then

  • Prices just undercuts TPG's prices

Some things I found in my research of Vaya ADSL2..

    1. Going by the Whirpool forums, they seems to throttle at least Usenet at certain times. So much for "Unlimited".
    2. Even if uncontracted, there is a $75 exit fee if you ever want to leave them.
    3. You connect to Telstra's DSLAM, but you are using the AAPT/Primus network. Pennytel used AAPT/Primus also, and performance of their network was poor in my experience.
    4. If you are in a regional area there is a $25 surcharge, + $100 join fee.
    • You sure on #3?
Reads to me that you have to have a Telstra Landline, but you connect to AAPT/iPrimus DLSAMs.
If I'm wrong, then it's even more of a bargain than I originally thought, cause resold Telstra DSLAM's are normally very expensive (with the exception of Exetel).

      • Not 100% sure, but the coverage checker says I am eligible. Yet I am on a RIM so I cannot connect to anything but a Telstra "sub-exchange". Also, when I try my mother's number, she is eligible, and connects directly to an exchange, and there's certainly no other providers except Telstra on it. Thirdly, the fact that they charge a surcharge for regional matches Telstra ADSL Zoning surcharges (although the surcharges Vaya is charging is very high!)

Is this available as Naked DSL or do you have to have an active phone line?

    • you need a phone line and as you can see the homephone deals are NOT a bargain… 39 for 18mnth plan or 45 for month by month… there's a bundle this with adsl2+ banner but i doubt there is any further discount so you could be up for $90 pm… hehehe

  • +6

I am paying $60 for my unlimited internet and phone with Tpg… Vaya $45 for unlimited and cheapest Telstra phone plan of $22 will make it total $67 per month…. So no deal…

Does anyone know if Tpg also uses the same network as Vaya?

    • +1

      TPG has its own network.

  • I wonder what kind of speeds one can expect.

  • +2

Once you start bundling with home phone line rental costs, it's not cheap anymore

  • +2

Line Rental not included - WTF!?
    Think I'll stick with Exetel.

I don't get how companies can get away with claiming "unlimited 24/7" data, as these jokers do in their flyer, yet have a "reasonable use" clause. It's either unlimited, that is to say, there is no limit, or there is, and in this case, there clearly is.

    • -5

or you could just learn to distinguish between unlimited and unrestricted like intelligent people do….

      • +3

        I'm fairly intelligent, but…

        unrestricted
        adjective
        1. unlimited, open, free, absolute, free-for-all (informal), unregulated

        unlimited
        adjective
        1. infinite, endless, countless, great, vast, extensive, immense, stellar (informal), limitless, boundless, incalculable, immeasurable, unbounded, illimitable
        2. total, full, complete, absolute, unconditional, unqualified, unfettered, unrestricted, all-encompassing, unconstrained

        Synonyms for unrestricted
        adj free
        unlimited, unregulated, unconditional…

        • -4

I'm fairly intelligent, but clueless and I know it* fixed it for you :)

        • +1

or you could just learn to distinguish between unlimited and unrestricted like only the illiterate would do, because they mean the same thing! …and then call people who point that out "clueless" because, well, what else can you do in the face of being completely wrong? *fixed yours in return :)

        • -3

Completely wrong? Look in the mirror for the person that's completely wrong. Just because you delude yourself into thinking your not special isn't my problem, I guess you will never solve this problem then

I don't get how companies can get away with claiming "unlimited 24/7" data

Do you want me to tell you how? Because I knew how when I first read that comment ;)

        • Just because you delude yourself into thinking you're not special isn't my problem…

*Corrected your illiteracy again, but nice to know you think I'm special :)

I don't get how companies can get away with claiming "unlimited 24/7" data

Do you want me to tell you how?

No. I wasn't the one who asked that question. I just want to know the difference between the words "unlimited" and "unrestricted".
