50 Series Launch Day! Always an exciting time with a new generation, new tech inside, higher performance, kicked off by the RTX 5080. We have done our very best to bring you the best deal on launch day by working with AMD and Palit to get you a 5080 series PC for little more than the price of the GPU and CPU, especially with the Australian Dollar falling from 72 cents down to 62 cents! Please note if the AUD falls to the predicted levels a build like this at 55 cents would be hundreds of dollars more. Now I have been inundated with messages about can we supply some standalone 5080 because of the disappointment of many people missing out, so we have made some available to you on launch.

We have our hands on Australia's first Palit GameRock and GamingPro cards, and they look great and perform incredibly well. Palit as you may well know are one of the largest GPU manufacturers in the world and manufacture for many other brands as well as their own cards. The GameRock this time around is less "crystalline bling" and more "psychadelic swirl" in its design.

All cards come with support stands as they are chonkariffic, and all PCs are securely packaged internally. We can ship GPUs separately too to remove risk of transit damage altogether - tick checkbox at checkout.

King tier CPUs from both AMD and Intel has been the OzBargain community's preference with high-tier 40 series cards and we've continued it here, so we're pleased to present both Ryzen 7 9800X3D and Core i9-14900KF options.

Each 5080 build has two batches of GPUs for both cards. Once the GPUs that are on hand now have sold out, that line will disappear, leaving the longer lead time cards (expected end of Feb into early March) available for pre-order.

Our build queue is completely cleared after some longer than anticipated timeframes to complete our Boxing Day orders which were extremely high in number, but I anticipate quick shipping for these closer to the front end estimate mark of the business days we are listing on the website.

All TechFast PCs are:

  • Unmatched in terms of value, $ per frame, bang for buck - you name it, it does not get cheaper
  • Fully professionally built, stress tested
  • Provided by the most active and committed OzB PC builder for 6+ years - we are here to stay while many others have come and gone, leaving Ozbargainers in the lurch
  • Plug and play with all drivers installed, no matter which OS you select
  • Fully supported by a local team via email and here on Ozbargain
  • Fully insured for transit at no extra cost
  • Fully warranted with transit covered both ways in the event of warrantable faults

coupon is not working! im trying to check out and click update discount does not work. does nothing!

    • @luketechfast If I order a 9800X3D 5080 build does other parts like CPU Cooler, Memory, Storage, Power Supply and Case will be of same brand and model as listed above?

  • +28

Why in gods name would anyone buy Core i9-14900KF for more money vs a 9800X3D in a gaming machine…

    • +18

some people blindly go for a particular brand

    • +16

Could be using for things other than gaming.

      • Yeh…. I know but even then I dunno about paying More for it… Considering the issues it's had which I know they say they've 'fixed'… You won't know until way later if those problems rear their ugly head again….

      • Yup, I am running AMD on both my laptop and desktop but if things don't change I will be switching to Intel on my next build for 4:2:2 10 bit video support.

        • +4

How does it help for that? Genuine question. What would AMD need to improve?

          • +5

@bunnybash: I've been told that the new NVIDIA 50XX cards support it now so not a problem for my next PC anymore but basically for people with cameras AMD CPUs had trouble handling specific video files (to the point where they basically can't even play back the file) and you had to go with 11th+ gen Intel or Apple M1+ which had support for hardware decoding for those files.

Can go see comments on threads like this for people in the same boat: https://www.reddit.com/r/FX3/s/h8SHRQwJVB

Just to clarify it is 10 bit 4:2:2 on H265 specifically.

        • +5

You probably know this already, but in case somebody else doesn't, the RTX 5xxx cards have 10 bit 4:2:2 support so you could keep your AMD and upgrade your card instead

          • @CODY-19: I actually didn't know that! Haven't been keeping up with news there because I wasn't even going to bother trying to get anything near launch. Thanks for letting me know!

    • +9

Some people will never let go of "intel good amd bad"

    • +8

14900kf has 24 cores… you can do a lot other things with it for just $200 more.

      • +7

        Mine sweepers in 4k 500fps

      • Wow, 9800X3d = 40,000 passmark.
        14900kf = 59,145 passmark.

    • +1

same boring old comment under every pc deal, just like 'why would you buy a apple over samsung'.

      • People negging this are the problem commenters.

    • DeepSeek meme

    • +3

Because some of the things you do with your PC may need faster single-core speed (Intel is about 10% faster). Prime example for me is Zwift, the massively multiplayer cycling game.

      • -1

No offense mate but single thread performance on new AMD chips are up there with the Intel's. Without the 400w power draw and the risk of voltage causing degradation. I think some are missing my point here, on a gaming PC why would you pay more for a cpu that is 1. Older and not as perfomant in games and 2. A risk in terms of degradation as it's an unknown if these fixes will actually help years down the track.

I'm not at all saying this is a bad CPU for gaming, it is well known it's a rival for the 7800x3d in gaming with the option to do some productivity work.

Still if I'm buying a gaming PC no way I'd pay more for an worse cpu… (FOR GAMING). The 5090 in situations can't even bottleneck the 9800x3d….

        • +1

I have no skin in the game because I'm not buying a PC at this level, but I did go Intel (12400F I think it is) for my Zwift machine because Intel single-thread was faster. So I googled a comparison website between the two processors you mentioned here and got 9% single-thread difference (I'm totally reliant on the comparison website though). I'm sure that wouldn't be noticeable with processors at this level, but it did matter to me at the lower level.

    • +2

Only reason is they also do productivity stuff that specifically runs better on intel or something

  • +2

Never heard of Palit - any comments?

    • +16

It's fine. Been around for a long time. Lot's of deals on here for their GPUs, just do a search on Palit

    • +5

      Very big in SEA

    • +1

same company as Galax / Galaxy / Gainward branded GPUs

  • +3

Part list in the description for the Intel build has the AMD processor listed

    • +1

      Fixed thank you

  • +2

not too bad but what happened to RRP 5080 is same as 4080s? $999 USD - why are we getting shafted

    • +5

the quoted USD RRP only applies to first party Nvidia Founder edition cards, US sales tax not included.

Founder cards can't be purchased in Oz.

      • +2

There were other MSRP cards, and I would assume the basic Palit model is one such card, or at least very close.

@luketechfast while we can all understand relative cost of shipping (largely fixed), retail operation, and just general living are some of the highest in the world, the markup here seems to have stretched further than ever before.

Have NVIDIA ANZ and wholesalers in general offered any justification for these pricepoints?

I get that AIBs have been demanding bigger margins for doing decent work, but this feels more like a consequence of keeping ordering volumes extremely low at launch, along with entrenched wholesale partners clipping the ticket.

Thank you for posting a great value build though, new PC buyers are probably breathing a sigh of relief.

        • +20

No word on the "why" for the pricing. It is, unfortunately, what it is. And "it" is definitely not on our end, I can guarantee that.

          • @luketechfast: Long ago, in a galaxy far, far away, I worked in retail.

I would constantly be bombarded with griefing about prices or performance, etc.

I would simply say, "They didn't ask me".

I commiserated and defused in one comment.

Techfast has continuously offered fantastic builds for the money, and it's appreciated. Thank you.

          • @luketechfast: Thanks again for the response! With a host of Chinese companies and Chinese-manufactured products being issuing pricing updates over the last few days, how is the next batch of GPUs looking?

    • +3

They charge whatever they want and people pay. So why would the be inclined to stop putting so much fat in there?

You'll hear other excuses like shipping costs, consumer protections, etc. but NVidia operates with a 75% gross margin. That's likely more from the enterprise than consumer market but without more information your guess is as good as mine.

And if NVidia gets away with it, the AIB surely want to as well

Apple is reasonable with USD+GST, so if you want to argue you're getting screwed, least you're getting equally as screwed as the Americans

    • -1

That's already $1766 AUD with GST even at Forex rates. Given logistics costs and AIB partners having to mark things up to make any profit or even not lose money it's really not bad. Blame NVIDIA and the machine learning rush.

    • No criticism here for using a b650m mobo or the same pcpp price on 9800x3d?

      • your kidding - its $700 cheaper all up - LOL - just proves my point

        • Yes it is but your neg in the other comment critcised the 9080x3d for $928 which is also listed here as well as the b650 which is similarly located here. The other parts obviously vary but predominantly cheaper and lower end on pcpp in this build. But both are transparent

          • @maverickjohn: yeah they listed pcpp to justify the high cost overall - they didnt do that here - my comment was for the whole deal
there is nothing better in the other deal then here and the difference is $700

    • +3

The AUD is falling lower against the USD.
There’s also GST and the possibility of Nvidia subsidising US tariffs with increased prices in the rest of the world.

    • +4

      https://www.nvidia.com/en-au/geforce/graphics-cards/50-serie…
On Nvidia Australia site it's already 2,019 AUD for FE (even though they're not going to Aus), so this Palit one basically the cheapest possible right now

      • +6

yep so Nvidia is screwing Aus as usual

    • $2019 is actually bang-on Australian MSRP, US price was approx $1100 USD after sales tax was added, and by the time you add import tax and GST its expected to be 15% higher anyway…

1,100 United States Dollar equals 1,766.78 Australian Dollar
      +15% = 2030.90

      • Not really
5080 has same MSRP as 4080s sooooooo.
        Your wrong

        • +3

          No,

          "You're" wrong.

          ;)

  • +4

Paying more for a 14900k is insanity lmao

    • +2

This has been resolved by using the Credit Card payment option under the PayPal radial. Defintiely a SecurePay issue on regular Credit Card method (for anyone reading)

  • Hey Luke, likely you'll be selling 5070/5070Ti on their own?

    • +4

Too early to say, no info yet.

      • Cheers, will keep an eye on your posts.

      • Hey Luke, any insight yet on selling standalone 5070 TI's?

        • Not doable at this stage with supply. Just posted a system deal.

  • Hey Luke, any deals on 5090?

    • +2

      Looking into it

      • +1

        🙏 Very keen aswell Luke!
Did you guys manage to recieve any 5090s?

        • @luketechfast Hi OZBGang, I have ordered a 5080 System here. Mine is "built". Anyone thats ordered a 5090 Build and wanting to swap? Will send extra money your way. Can change the shipping now to save on that too.

      • Hey, I need to cancel my 5080 order since I will buy this, can you help me with that?

  • +1

    Would love an ITX build..

  • Also interested in a 5090 if you have any up for sale individually.

      • PM me if #2 is available.

  • I'm getting a payment failed error when trying to checkout.

    Anyone else?

Aware of the issue - tech team is on it, looks to be on SecurePay's end. Working for many but not all. We're workign through it.

Please try again now with the Debit Or Credit Card button under the PayPal option - seems definitely a SecurePay thing.

      • Once paypal became available I went with that and purchased. Thanks!

  • just getting payment failed. how to fix this? tried 2 different card and 3 different browsers

Hey Luke! Can we get this shipped unassembled please? Half the fun for me is opening the box and building the pc :)

Also returning happy customer from a 3070 deal :)

    • +8

We are no longer offering unassembled systems sorry. Too many individual issues with the volume we sell when we are setup for assembled system support.

      • +3

        Okay, thanks mate.

Why would someone downvote my question lol.

        • +1

          An upvote for you.

          ;)

      • Hey mate, getting payment failed on Amex …

        • Please try again now with the Debit Or Credit Card button under the PayPal option - seems definitely a SecurePay thing.

Hey Luke, could you please let me know the revision of the motherboard mate?

It seems like rev1.0 has wifi 6E while the rev1.1 has wifi 6 only.

Also, is there a chance we can see how the white build looks with the standard hardware please?

Asking these questions here both for everyone to be able to see and you can also reference/link easily if anyone else asks :)

        Thanks mate!

      • Do you offer fully assembled builds minus video card (as in video card arrives uninstalled)?

        • +2

"All cards come with support stands as they are chonkariffic, and all PCs are securely packaged internally. We can ship GPUs separately too to remove risk of transit damage altogether - tick checkbox at checkout."

  • @luketechfast do you actually have those two models of 5080 in stock for individual sale? Or just like, "conceptually"
