50 Series Launch Day! Always an exciting time with a new generation, new tech inside, higher performance, kicked off by the RTX 5080. We have done our very best to bring you the best deal on launch day by working with AMD and Palit to get you a 5080 series PC for little more than the price of the GPU and CPU, especially with the Australian Dollar falling from 72 cents down to 62 cents! Please note if the AUD falls to the predicted levels a build like this at 55 cents would be hundreds of dollars more. Now I have been inundated with messages about can we supply some standalone 5080 because of the disappointment of many people missing out, so we have made some available to you on launch.

We have our hands on Australia's first Palit GameRock and GamingPro cards, and they look great and perform incredibly well. Palit as you may well know are one of the largest GPU manufacturers in the world and manufacture for many other brands as well as their own cards. The GameRock this time around is less "crystalline bling" and more "psychadelic swirl" in its design.

All cards come with support stands as they are chonkariffic, and all PCs are securely packaged internally. We can ship GPUs separately too to remove risk of transit damage altogether - tick checkbox at checkout.

King tier CPUs from both AMD and Intel has been the OzBargain community's preference with high-tier 40 series cards and we've continued it here, so we're pleased to present both Ryzen 7 9800X3D and Core i9-14900KF options.

Each 5080 build has two batches of GPUs for both cards. Once the GPUs that are on hand now have sold out, that line will disappear, leaving the longer lead time cards (expected end of Feb into early March) available for pre-order.

Our build queue is completely cleared after some longer than anticipated timeframes to complete our Boxing Day orders which were extremely high in number, but I anticipate quick shipping for these closer to the front end estimate mark of the business days we are listing on the website.

All TechFast PCs are:

  • Unmatched in terms of value, $ per frame, bang for buck - you name it, it does not get cheaper
  • Fully professionally built, stress tested
  • Provided by the most active and committed OzB PC builder for 6+ years - we are here to stay while many others have come and gone, leaving Ozbargainers in the lurch
  • Plug and play with all drivers installed, no matter which OS you select
  • Fully supported by a local team via email and here on Ozbargain
  • Fully insured for transit at no extra cost
  • Fully warranted with transit covered both ways in the event of warrantable faults

            • @roccohu: Look on the bright side: You're giving nVidia time to get the 50 series idiosyncrasies sorted in their drivers before we have to deal with them. ;-)

Just be patient. I'm sure Luke and his team are working as hard as they can. I'm pretty certain they'd also prefer not to have a stock room full of gear they haven't had time to build and ship yet. It'll happen.

I'm actually a little grateful because it gave me some time to assess, and switch my chassis from the Antec CX500M to the C3. I was in too much of a rush to get check-out complete when the deal was listed.

              • +1

@Spun: Hey man thanks for the reply. Yeh the drivers are definitely not quite there yet. If I haven’t sold my current Pc to fund this one I wouldn’t be rushing this much at al lol I think I’m not the only one in the situation, these new ones are expensive.
Anyhow you are right it also gave me time to think about the parts too, I also did upgrade the case from Cx500m to C3 and gone with a 360mm AIO, it would looks and works much better I suppose. A 9800x3d and 5080 with 240mm aio would be a bit too understated. Cheers.

                • @roccohu: Ah dammit. I've stayed with the 240, but now you're making me second guess myself. It will look a bit small in the top of the C3. I'll see how it looks when I get it, and if it bothers me I'll buy a 360 and relegate the 240 to my work PC.

For me, the fan kit alone was enough to justify the price increase of the C3 over the CX500m. I've got an additional set of ARGB fans ready to go. One reverse fan for the base of the case where the drive tray is, and 3 exhaust fans for the top of the case to turn the rad into push-pull (overkill, I know), and fill the extra 120 fan gap next to my poor little 240 rad :-).

                  • @Spun: Think alike! I’m adding a reverse fan at the bottom too.
I don’t think you lose out a lot by going with the 240mm aio first, I’ve asked they said it’s a in house brand both 240 and 360. So depending on the performance I might need to swap them out too!

        • This sort of comment is quite common on the Techfast deals. ;)

          • @Naigrabzo: as in chasing for delivery? :)

            • @roccohu: yep. Lack of comms, delayed delivery etc. Most seem to be happy with their pcs eventually. Occasionally salty after service stories etc….

    • +10

Mate, it’s barely been 6 business days since the deal was posted. Tagging the rep and bugging support to try and jump the queue is poor form.

      Have a little patience.

      • -1

        THIS!

      • Jesus, I mean I felt kind of bad asking for a quick update on the GPUs on day 5 since it was advertised as a 2-5 day turnaround, they went out on day 6 but hey shit happens, I know this release slammed them.

Asking about PC builds advertised as 10-14 day turnarounds on Day 6 or 7 or whatever it is is pretty ridiculous.

        • I think most of it was due to then sending out an automated message statimg its now entering its estimated build time of 10>14 days, when it had already been 5 business days.

So is it 10->14 business days or 15->19 business days? Im still not sure.

          • @Vinodra: My guess is that you will never know for sure.

      • -3

First of all admittedly you are right about they still have time to process the order as per advertised.
On the other hand I also explained why I hoped for better transparency and reading other posts where things could felt off got me nervous.
Lastly you could also interpret the urgency as passionate about getting a brand new PC from someone who truly loves hardware and that is the fact.

But hey if this post turned out to be a ‘bad form’ for some pls ignore me. I said and I quote ‘speed up the build’ not ‘build mine first.

  • -1

A long shot…. But I went for the 5080 deal and on reflection, should have gone for the 5090. If anyone placed an order for the 5090 but would now like to swap and save a few $$$…. PM me please.

    • I think most people who ordered a 5090 GPU only from this deal got their orders cancelled due to no stock. Not sure if anyone got one.

    • -3

      In the same boat here.

I've ordered the 5080 build and would like to swap to 5090.

Will pay the difference and pay a little extra on top for it.

      Please pm

      • +1

        the 5090 is sold out

  • +3

Well my 5080 arrived and it hasn't caught fire yet, so that's a good start

    • Same, arrived yesterday, all is well so far. Even fits in a Coolermaster NR200, but you'll need a 180 degree power adapter too.

    • Nice! I assume you placed your order on the first day, right?

      • Yep probably a couple of hours after it appeared here

  • +7

If anyone has received their prebuilt- What brands did they throw in for the ssd, ram, and cooler?

  • how long before the 12V connector melts? there is already a melted 5090 connector on youtube

    • -1

could be fake AI generated video?

      • Its not, but the person was using an ATX 3.0 third party cable.

        • -1

der8auer tested with a genuine NVIDIA cable and the connector starts getting very hot within minutes during to an imbalance in current between the cable's conductors. it's just a bad design

          • -1

            @c64: Wow.

            Fake Frames; Real Flames.

            I am just quoting youtube.

            What a burn.

  • Anyone else ordered a 5080 build and have an order status showing "Status Order Placed"? I'm assuming the next status update will be "Building" or "Shipped"?

Just want to know what to expect as I've received multiple emails about moving up the queue but order status hasn't changed.

    • mine just got into building give it a few more days.

      • Would you have placed your order in the first couple minutes? Mine was a few hours later just before 4PM when they put up the 5090 system so I imagine im quite far down the queue.

        • I placed the order for the 5080 build at 2pm (Melbourne). It is still showing as "Order Placed".

          • @allenbaha: I ordered 1.30pm and still not even a pick. Luke was saying “ I anticipate quick shipping for these closer to the front end estimate mark of the business days we are listing on the website.”

Which considering the listing said 10-15 business days (if I remember correctly) is still normal.

            But dang so excited, i can’t wait…

    • Order just changed to 'Picked' this morning from 'Ordered Placed'. Next one will be 'In Testing' based on the text they sent.

    • Yep. 5080 build and mine is still in order placed :(

    • Yep also 5080 build with on-hand GPU - ordered in the afternoon on the 31st and status is still "Order Placed"…todays the 11th day so i'm really hoping to see it get to build status soon :|

  • +1

My order updated to "picked" this morning as well. Getting closer!

    • Same, Also the 9800x3d - 5080 is back on sale? it wasnt before i think. Still a good price to buy

  • +3

Looks like the 9800x3d link doesn't work anymore, was working yesterday evening and was about to buy lol.

Hoping it's in error, bought my last build through TechFast a few years back and had a really positive experience so hoping to go through you guys again.

    • +2

Fingers crossed it becomes available again !

    • +2

I think they've raised the price for that build.

  • Has anybody who ordered a 5090 GPU or prebuild have any movement on their order (Good or bad?)

    • No movement since order placed

  • -2

@luke if any cancel their order, please let me know. Happy to take theirs.

  • +2

Is anybody else starting to get concerned? I ordered around an hour after the post, and it’s now at the 10th working day (11th if you count the day I ordered) and it still just says “Order Placed”. So they have 3-4 days max to pick, build, test, pack and ship the PC.

I know it’s within the time frame and what I signed up for, but just wondering how’s everyone else’s orders going?

    • +1

Mine says picked, and support said mine ''should'' Be shipping soon. but no ETA was given when I asked for one. just have to wait.

    • +1

I'm in the same boat as you. Hopefully an update tomorrow….

      • Still no update :(

    • +1

Same boat here, hoping for some good news soon

  • +1

My 5080 system is now in testing… getting excited!

    • So exciting! What time was your order if you don’t mind me asking?

      • +1

Also in testing, ordered about an hour after the deal went live.

      • +1

Also an hour odd after the deal was posted.

    • +1

      Now received shipping notification

      • Nice. Enjoy!

Mine is still sitting in "Order Placed" (my order was submitted exactly 2 hours after the deal went live).

        • I ordered about an hour and half after the deal was posted. Just changed to picked this morning yours shouldn’t be to far off

          • @Evilgamer: Mine was also around 2.5 hours after the deal was posted and I ordered the 5090 system, I just hope they actually have the 5090

            • @Vinodra: That's my main concern as well. Have yet to hear anyone with a 5090 build actually confirm that they have progressed past Order Placed.

      • Attempted delivery today. Do I really need to work this week?

  • +13

Update on RTX 5080 and 5090 builds: Continuing to make progress through the initial drop of on-hand cards, with finalised PC shipments continuing this week and next - they are long and valuable builds with liquid coolers and extremely high value hardware, so we are taking the necessary time to get them right. And I think everyone would have seen prices have shot up since that deal, while your launch prices are locked in, so your patience is appreciated. We expect to move into the late-Feb / March pre-order card batches straight after, as cards continue to arrive.

    • +1

Thanks for the update Luke, can you confirm if the 5090 builds ordered through the ozbargain link are on hand cards or are they a preorder, im not sure since it wasnt specified originally.

      • This is a mixture - we had on hand cards with which some systems shipped, and are awaiting the next batch. It's likely they'll come with the bulk 5080 delivery and we'll confirm with everyone once we know for certain. A bit of supplier push and shove for allocation across shipments that don't arrive with the amount of cards they were supposed to in the context of a global short supply scenario, as I'm sure you can imagine.

        • I see, does that mean anyone that hasnt had their 5090 system built yet will be waiting for the next batch? Disheartening to hear but I understand.

Hopefully you can prioritise those 31st of January orders when you get the next batch, ill be extremely disappointed if the 10->15 business days only starts when you get the cards.

        • How long after the cards arrive will the 5080 builds be shipped?

  • +4

Well… it's solidly outside of the estimate now. My order was at Fri 31 Jan, 14:37. Has anyone close to that time had their order make progress?

I'm giving up hope that mine will arrive before Monster Hunter Wilds release day. :(

    • +1

Given some of the issues the 5000 series cards are having, I don't think it's a bad thing that they're taking their time with testing the systems before shipping. Orders after their initial stock allocation was exhausted were always going to go beyond the ETA given the global stock issues.

      • +4

Hope part of their testing is checking for ROPs as that now seems to be an issue for 5080s too

      • +10

No complaints from me about thorough testing and careful shipping.

I just think the initial estimate was a bit misleading. My build was part of the “on hand” orders but hasn’t started to be built. Thats obviously a bit disappointing.

    • +3

I ordered around the same time as you and I'm hazarding a guess that despite our builds saying Graphics card - on hand, we might be in the preorder category mentioned here:
"Each 5080 build has two batches of GPUs for both cards. Once the GPUs that are on hand now have sold out, that line will disappear, leaving the longer lead time cards (expected end of Feb into early March) available for pre-order."
Either that or they are legitimately slammed with orders and builds are taking a while to get out the door

      • +1

The way we can know if they lied about the on hand cards is if people who ordered the 5070ti build start to see progress before those "on hand" 5080 deals that have seen zero progress in over 3 weeks….

      • +2

I really hope it’s just the latter, considering the order specified that the 5080 is “on hand”.

Considering it’s the 50 series, maybe all the cards melted in testing and that’s what’s causing delays ¯_(ツ)_/¯

    • haven't you read previous forum topics on techfast. "fast" is a misnomer

  • My pc came with no display. What do i do? I have already tried many things. Resitting the gpu. Checked the cables. Turned it off and on agsin. Tried my tv and monitor nothing works its still no display
    This is just my luck.

    • Do you get anything from the motherboard HDMI port? I swapped GPUs recently and I had to reseat the GPU several times times before it finally worked.

If nothing works, contact Techfast support. Your pc comes with lifetime support.

      • I have but im stressed i want this fixed now. and its the weekend soon they won't reply on weekends. No phone number to call . I sent them an email waiting around for reply adding to stress. I have not tried that does this CPU have graphics?
I notice the shipping box is a tad damaged, on the bottom corner

And if I have to send it back it will be another few more weeks till I get it back.

        • 9800x3d does have integrated graphics as far as I know. So HDMI to the mobo should work.

That will at least confirm that it’s “just” the GPU that’s the issue. Maybe you could just send that back.

Again though, I’d be trying a bunch more times to reseat the GPU.

          • @MunkyAU: Ok it displays when it's to mobo but not to GPU. GPU or motherboard is broken? I'm scared I might make things worse if I have to keep reseating the GPU
I done it 5 times already, it feels like its not going in all the way, but I hear the click. it looks like its pressing against the silver heatsink on motherboard.?

It boot cycles three times, fans stop spinning and no display when connected to GPU. and I hear a very soft wine sound coming from somewhere, could be from GPU or CPU cooler. its fine unless its broken.

            • @Rukiata: Not sure sorry mate. Hopefully someone else can help more.
Seems like it’s definitely the GPU that’s the issue at least.

              • @MunkyAU: I cant even screw down the screws in the case to hold GPU, it just keeps spinning. I'm using ifix tool kit too. so proper screw driver. and they are the two they put there.

              • @MunkyAU: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1-0vqm9QF3GqsTvvZff35B4h5J9U…
There seems to be a power issue? but I just noticed this, I don't think it was doing this before. or maybe it was. here's a video, two fans work, one is very slow, another does not work at all on the case. gpu fans still don't spin

  • +2

Hey everyone!, just received mine, putting on windows. Everything seems great and in working order. Fairly well built. More details later or you can ask.

Hey @luketechfast and in the post it says “ All cards come with support stands as they are chonkariffic” but mine didn’t come with any I can see.

Is it still supposed to be included?

    • +2

Just in time for the weekend, lucky you! Great to hear they are trickling out though.

What day/time was your order? Will give us in the queue an idea where they are up to.

      • +2

        Thanks!

I ordered about an hour into the post around 1:30. Took 2 days for shipping including today so the build was ready to ship on Wednesday.

Also I got a DeepCool PSU, RAM is Predator Vesta 2 RGB, cpu AIO is MSI 240mm (with a pretty audible and somewhat annoying water pump -or- radiator fan whine). Ah, also the SSD is HP FX700 (should have seen this one coming with all the low cost “HP” branded SSD’s haha, but they have to save costs somewhere for this amazing deal. Again totally fine and doesn’t bother me and will be just fine as any other SSD I am sure.

It feels like they mixed up the PSU and AIO brands while ordering lololol. Just felt funny psu was deepcool and cooler was Msi haha.

Case Fans are Antec and actually quite without load. Haven’t tested under load yet. GPU is also relatively quite without load.

Cable management is “it’s behind the panel mate”, but doesn’t bother me for now.

        Ask away any other questions.

        • +2

Thanks for sharing, really useful to know what is getting shipped. Haven't purchased a 'trust me bro' high end pc before.

It's a worry that it has taken almost a whole month to only be up to shipping orders that were made an hour after the post.

I am having doubts that they actually had the stock on hand. I think were working off an allocation they were expecting but didn't receive… Or they literally build 2-3pc's a day.

          Anyway happy gaming!

          • @Dogemode: No worries, I am happy to help. I know how it feels to be wait with excitement and wanting to know exactly what you’ll receive.

I mean it’s really just 2-3 working days off from their estimate. I think this is probably why some people complain, the estimate is “10-15 working days” for the build + post (which takes 2-3 days to major cities)

I think people see that and just think “ah yeah, 2 weeks right?” I think for a what essentially is a custom (with all the changes people can make to their systems), water cooled such high value/but low cost system this is expected. I rather they take their time and do the build right with no damage or bad build quality then otherwise. Imagine getting your build but something is damaged or you aren’t happy with it or your card gets damaged and they literally can not get a new card to get you your pc at all for much longer while. Anyway, that’s just me.

Also from comments, it looks like everyone must have ordered 1 hour into the post, so likely all orders came around the same time. I don’t think they would post a deal like this knowing it will be super popular and not have cards on hand. But I don’t know of course.

            • +2

@Larsson: Shipping time was never included in their estimate. This is direct from Techfast’s email:

The estimated time from placing your order to dispatch is 10-14 business days

Also take into consideration that Luke in the original post said:

I anticipate quick shipping for these closer to the front end estimate mark of the business days we are listing on the website.

So not including Jan 31st, it’s 20 business days now with zero progress for me. Bare minimum it seems like 3-5 days once it’s “picked” until shipping.

So no, not really “just 2-3 days off”. That’s a substantial delay. I’m happy for you that you got your order quickly but the rest of us absolutely have a right to complain.

              • +1

@MunkyAU: Oh yeah, 100% in your case mate. It’s well beyond their estimated time and I do agree, I also pointed out Luke said shipments would be on the earlier side of the estimate!

I was talking about my case in specific. But I was also dubious if they could keep the timing from beginning and mentally prepared myself for a later delivery.

But yeah I would say yours is a bit longer, I would absolutely be complaining here already haha.

                • +1

@Larsson: Ah my bad, I misunderstood.
It is encouraging to see people starting get their PCs at least.
Have you put the PC through its paces yet? How’s the noise under load?

                  • +1

@MunkyAU: I did a little bit actually! Had an event yesterday so sadly didn’t get to play much outside of Friday, but:

I played COD: Modern Warfare (2019) multiplayer on it.

I am coming from a RTX 3070 (gigabyte eagle), 5900x and all noctua fans (was a techfast PC I modified along the way). Both tested at 4K screen. I let both be optimized by Nvidia app, so they are absolutely not even grounds unfortunately.

The 5080 (exact build as the post) gets
                    Without DLSS: 115 frames
                    With DLSS (performance): 196-205 frames

The 3070 gets (Nvidia app optimized settings):
                    Without DLSS: 70 frames
                    With DLSS (performance): 113 frames

Same settings as 5080 (except Vram usage goes above max)
                    The 3070 gets:
                    Without DLSS: 55 frames
                    With DLSS (performance): 96 frames

The fans are actually not loud at all, but the MSI AIO pump I have does have an annoying, almost whine like sound to it. I am comparing this to my noctua fans, so I think that’s pretty good. On full load, I do hear a coil whine also, unsure if it’s GPU or some other component. In my 3070 rig, the Gigabyte eagle card is the loudest component though and it also has an annoying coil whine, so it’s nice to see Palit 5080 is quieter in comparison.

Also noticed on HWInfo the CPU tempt just 90+C despite most of the time keeping around 65~ishC

Overall it’s quieter than my Noctua 3070 Pc(admittedly not so well optimized fan curves)

                    Happy and impressed!

You ordered in the first hour and just received your pc? I ordered exactly 2 hours after the deal was posted.

If the backlog delay scales linearly I still have another 28 days to wait 😢.

          • @Spun: I highly doubt that to be honest. See above comment. They are barely just out of their estimated build complete day of “10-15”
Business days. That’s 3 weeks normally without waiting for the post… 3,5 weeks considering post. So they were only 2-3 business days late.

I think everyone order around the first hour (it’s a big purchase after all, I think people paused and thought about it first.)

Anyway, hope yours comes soon too mate!

I also ordered 2 hours after deal came up and received my order yesterday morning. Was picked(Build) on 20/2, Testing on 25/2, Shipped 27/8 arrived in Melbourne 28/2 11:30am my place -great and fast shipping. Just for context, I ordered the 5080 system, upgraded Case to Antec C3, CPU to 9800x3d and 1000W PSU. Build wise, I can’t complain on the rest of the parts as the deal is too good to be true price wise, and it runs really well. Thank you @techfast and @luketechfast for this amazing deal. P.s. upgrading from 2080ti 9900k system and overall extremely happy with the system I received.

I ordered 2 hours from the deal being posted but I upgraded to the bigger cooler 360mm a few days after - does that mean I got pushed to the end of the queue? Disappointing if that's the case, still stuck on "order placed"

Oh I forgot to mention I also upgraded to 360 AIO cooler. Maybe yours is coming up next since I got mine already?

The upgrades aren't supposed to effect your position in the queue if your order is still in "Order Placed" status, but honestly only Techfast can answer that for sure.

  • @luketechfast

Are you checking for missing ROPs ?

  • I have emailed support and im still waiting for my DOA PC to picked up or anything or for this to be sorted, I have not heard back. I really wish you guys had phone support. frustrating.
