  • Link says $3,999, is there a code for $3,899 ?

    • Sorry fixed the title, it should be $3999.

  • +11

and still cheaper than a 5090 smh

  • +3

What's the point of buying this when the savings is so little? You might as well buy each part separately and purchase the ones you want when you are dropping that much on a higher end build

    • +16

Build cost/time + you get customer support from 1 place. Not that important for some but I think there are ppl that having money and want a full PC sent to them without any other hassle.

    • +3

They don't factor in delivery costs either and the time to source those parts yourself at a low cost is time which is money

  • +14

    The 5080 is quite underwhelming

    • +9

Agreed! 4070Ti in a ~$2K build seems to be the bang for buck for 1440P.

    • At this price it almost makes me regretting not getting that HP 4090 deal months ago :)

    • Underwhelming compared to what other GPU? Am looking to upgrade my 3080…

      • +4

Compared to the 4080 and 4080 Super. Check out the review by Hardware Unboxed

      • +2

It's barely faster in raster than the AMD Radeon 7900 XTX and only a smidge better than RTX 4080 SUPER. I believe at most 15% faster in certain games.

Steve from Hardware Unboxed jokingly calls it the RTX 4080 TI SUPER because of how small the performance gap is.

For 3080 owners: it's a pretty big jump in performance, roughly 44% faster in 1440p and 50% faster in 4K.

        • +2

Unfortunately the jump in price from a 3080 is more than the jump in performance

          • @shodan: Not that much if you buy 3080 in the midst of covid lol

      • Mainly compared to 4080s. It's basically a 4080STi

    • That OC though… Wonder if Nvidia left headroom to slot in other cards later, and to make the gap to the 5090 wider to justify the price of it. Haven't seen a 12-15% uplift on OC in many a year!

  • +1

pcpartpicker link is for the wrong system?

  • -3

Any 5090 builds? Keen for that!

    • Doubt it. There's barely any stock for 5090 at the moment.

Microcenter in the US only got like 200 units of 5090 across the whole of the US

  • +5

    5080 only 4-11% better than 4080 super…. such a disappointment.

    • -1

Yeah but the 5080 overclocks comfortably for a further 15% uplift making it not far off the RTX 4090 in terms of straight rasta performance making it a better proposition than dropping a further $2K for an RTX 4090 or 5090 I guess

      • +1

4090 can be overclocked as well so the difference will always be there!

      • -1

Can you overclock 5080 vram into 24 gb? We all know even 40 series graphics card already at its limit.. You can only squeeze very little out of this new card.

        • Yes you can, jayz2cents overclocked a 5080 375/500 stable for a roughly 20% performance boost.

  • +3

If you don't care for raytracing, buy a 7900XTX. best decision i've ever made.

    • -1

best card is 4070ti super - it runs cool, uses less power and now gives you DLSS4, plus you can use frame gen as well

      • i have a 4090 and have zero respect for frame gen. Its rubbish. Maybe its because I play FPS mainly, but its awful. DLSS is impressive, it gives you almost DLAA levels of quality with its wizardy and a nice bump.. but I cant use frame geen at all.. yuck.

        • Some games it's ok , some like stalker you just have to use it on because they are so badly optimised but most i wouldn't bother

  • +2

Don’t even bother. 5080 is a disaster. Buy a 4080 Super or 7900XTX if you can get them cheaper.

    • -1

buy 4070ti s - when it was around $1100 its a steal, 50% cheaper then this fake frame shit they are selling now

  • -1

Will this be powerful enough to play Tic Tac Toe, and Pong?

    • No. I think it can manage CRYSIS though.

  • +1

Happy with my 9800X3D + 7900XTX. Best bang for buck if you're one of the few like me that doesn't care about Ray Tracing.

    • Ray Tracing is ridicukously beautiful on games that have it.. so i have nvidia, but, realistically i play COD mainly and ive actually heard amd cards are better with COD

    • +9

Not the company's fault that's all nvidia

      • -6

        what about the other parts?
        CPU AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D $928 @JW - this was $799 at launch
the MB you get is trash
        cooler? wont even comment that

        • +2

The CPU price has increased significantly due to shortages and fluctuations in the AUD/USD exchange rate.

The B650 Eagle features a 12+2+2 power phase design, providing ample stability for the CPU, and we haven’t observed any overheating issues with the motherboard.

While the Jonsbo TG360 is a basic 360mm cooler, it performs adequately and is sufficient to handle the 9800X3D, which has a 120W TDP.

        • +3

I don't get your angle. They are being transparent as per PC part picker.
I don't think it warrants a neg as it's a better price compared to PC part picker but if you think you can build a better system using the same CPU and GPU for less, show us.. but for now it feels your neg is not justified.
If your neg is for the components used being problematic. That's a different story

          • -1

@maverickjohn: these guys can do it for $700 less so yes, its a bad deal
            https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/891317

            • @botchie: Ok but this build has faster cl30 ram, has double the SSD, has more fans to increase airflow.
The cooler is a 360mm vs the other 240mm (probably overkill but still costs more)
You need to be fair for the neg it just doesn't appear fair. Anyway after the hype settles all the deals will probably be better than this

              • -2

@maverickjohn: its worth $700 to you?
we are here commenting on "deals"
i stand by my neg, if you think its a good deal buy it

                • @botchie: I won't buy this or the other. I don't think they are good or bad deals. However both are deals at the current ridiculous prices that the market is selling them for. No more no less. I don't particularly think the other deal is really good at this point either. And the $700 is subjective to what people would value. But I would go for faster RAM and I would go for more storage. Also I build my own PC and I prefer itx so my costs are higher than both of these builds to accommodate SFF.

        • Is this Ozbargains, or OzPCPARTPICKER? Are you negging it because it's not a bargain or because you don't like the PC parts?

  • +2

Just curious no one concern about the B650?

    • +4

and the cooler? $50 cooler for that $950 CPU

    • Curious what your concern is with the motherboard? I'm not an expert so genuinely asking. I thought the general rule was if don't know why you'd want or need a higher spec mobo, then a lower spec should suffice?

      • Good to go as long as one won't need hardware expansion in the future.

I guess I'm not the target customer haha

  • +1

What is the timeframe for these builds to be delivered? I'd have assume that every last 5090/5080 has already been sold with next deliveries, some time away.

    • +1

Hi! Our current lead time is 3-4 business days. We have all the parts in stock and ready for assembly.

  • -4

prebuilt companies are the reason for the RTX 5000 launch being a paper launch - dont support this

  • Imagine posting this then Luke at Techfast comes in and destroys your deal LOLOL

    • +2

not hard to destroy the deal when it was crazy expensive from the start
we had 4080s deals with 9800x3d before for $3k - say new card is $200 more - so its obv that for brand new card you should be looking at $3200,$3300 range

i still think we are being screwed by someone on the 9800x3ds - they cant go up $250 in 2 months - amd hasnt increased the price and aud hasnt tanked that much

      • its because that CPU is all sold out in most places. its hard to get here and ppl boosting price because of that.

  • 5080's aren't worth it. Only a few fps more (10-15 percent over 4080, mainly 5fps in most 4k games)

Only gain is using multi frame gen according to benchmarks

    • +1

They're worth it if you're upgrading from anything lower than a 3070ti.

Whilst you could spend $1k less and get a 4080S.. it's a personal choice heh

    • It was inevitable that we would eventually get to the point where GPUs are at their limits and can't be pushed further. With Intel we already see only 5-10% improvements with each new gen.

      • +1

We are not at the point mate. These are just shit.

It's the lack of competition at this top end. Nvidia will just sell you what the 5090 was supposed to be next generation.

  • +1

Now with even more fake frames! 5080 is basically a 4080Ti.
