Xbox 360 4GB Console + 2 Games + FREE Delivery $169 (after $100 Cashback)

2510

EDIT The price is now $199.(25th DEC)

EDIT 2…The offer is back. (26th DEC)

EDIT 3…Out of stock (27th DEC)

I think this one trumps all the others guys.
grababargain's comment got me curious whether the Microsoft store is included in the promotion.
Ringing up, I found out that it does qualify, so long as I purchase between the promotional period.

Currently there's also an offer for 2 FREE games, although the rep couldn't guarantee if it would still be available on the 26th. Although I would assume it would, as the fineprint states: "Offer valid from 15 November 2013 until 14 January 2014, while supplies last."

EDIT: You have to print out the emailed receipt from the Microsoft store as well as the page(s) from xbox360cashback.com.au and mail it to them no later than the 31st of January.
The cash back will be deposited into your selected bank account in 8-12 weeks.

    • Don't know what the second status means, but searching Toll's website, "MDT" seems to stand for "Mobile Data Terminal", so it's possibly on a delivery truck somewhere. "No early delivery" might mean it'll be delivered in the afternoon. :)

I just got my two games delivered; no invoice included, just a packing slip.

      • I just got my two games delivered

What was the ETA on the tracking site? You can find this by clicking 'Show more details'.
        Are you in Sydney too?

        • @leonheart1 Yes, I'm in Sydney. My ETA says 31/12/2013 (I got an SMS saying so on the weekend), but it ended up being delivered today.

        • Yeah ditto with the SMS. Hopefully I'll get mine today too!

        • Called them and they told me it's actually going to be delivered tomorrow even though it was sorted early in the morning.

      • Got my 2 games too an hr ago in Sydney.

Just got off the live chat on MicrosoftStore.com.
Was about the cancel the order, but the rep said the following,

"And just double checked this with one of our Superior and told me that since it
was our fault that we cannot deliver the Xbox 360 on time, you should still be
eligible to the $100 cash back."

I got a ref number for the conversation.

    Thoughts?

    • Where is this Livechat option on the Microsoft Store? I'm trying to find it in order to discuss my order, but can't find a link…. any help would be appreciated

      • +1

I was checking the order status in my account, and the live chat window popped up automatically.
        You may try http://answerdesk.microsoftstore.com/msusa/en-us/answerdesk, though.
Please let's know how you go.

        • Never got the live chat window pop up…tried to access the Microsoft Store on IE instead of chrome, and no difference. No idea why.

Tried that link you posted(chose LiveChat on top right), and that got me to a person who sorta answered my questions, and raised a case number for me.

        • How do you talk with them? I had LiveChat, but a man don't give me any case number, and told me, they are US, not AU… The other man told me that he is the store, just for sale, he ask me to talk with MS…

        • Tried to reproduce the live chat pop-up, but it seems the whole Microsoftstore.com has been down since last night.

Their technical incompetence, poor order handling together with the ridiculous cashback T&Cs make this offer look like a scam, although it shouldn't be the case.

I called up Microsoft and did Live Chat and I received information that is very different from the Cashback website.

The important thing to note is the dates are completely different!!! I clarified this four different times with two different people and got the same response so it seems to be legit and the promtional date is different than what is advertised.
    I hope this helps!

EDIT: On a side note the website lists the 26 December to 31 December which is different again!

    • +1

Think they're getting confused with two different offers. The November to January offer period applies to the 2 free games offer. On the microsoft Store website(http://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msaus/en_AU/pdp/Xbox-360…), both offers are listed 1) 2 free games offer and 2) cashback promotion. For the cashback promotion, the website lists the 26 December to 31 December like you said(which is different from the cashback website promotion period…)

  • But I live chat to microsoft, they told there is us microsoft , he ask me to contact the AU microsoft…

  • Got my console. Hurrah.

    • Congrats! My games are arriving today.. not the console :(

I'm going to keep tabs on this thread all the way till the end of February. I want to see if it all ends well for you guys getting it from MS store, or if it leads to clusterf*ck of the year, untold hatred and eternal boycotting/downvoting of their site.

They've kind of bungled this promo up pretty hard as it is.

    • Don't see why it wouldn't end well. Have had confirmation from them that 1) the Microsoft Store is valid place of purchase and 2) the time difference on order date making it seem out of promotional period doesn't matter, it'll be honored.

As long as people have the purchase receipt that lies between the promotional period, I don't foresee a problem, even if they don't receive the xbox by end of Jan. Could be wrong, but seems to be pretty straightforward to me.

      • Well there is that clause in the T&C which says stock waiting to be shipped doesn't qualify. I don't know if the word of someone at MS store in email will legally override what's written in the T&C.

        • Ok I'm not in that situation as I managed to get my order in right after midnight on Xmas morning so I only confirmed the issues pertinent to me, and I got those confirmed by the promotion people themselves, not MS Store rep

        • Do you think MS will not take any responsibility for their staff actions.

Clause might only apply to pre orders before promotional period awaiting delivery but I could be wrong.

        • Any house or car contract you sign will have a clause that anything written in its T&C overrides anything spoken or written by anyone else. So someone could promise you one thing, and be wrong, and their word will not count if the T&C contradicts their word.

  • Anyone else ordered a console during the promotion window and its on backorder? Does anyone have an ETA?

    • I ordered on 26th and it clearly said will be shipped on 15/1/2014.

  • hmm I've got no idea what TOLL IPEC are doing, my 2 games have been scheduled for delivery since the 31st December

    • Its the public holidays atm…

      • There's been only one public holiday since the 27th. Given it started in Melb (according to their location tracking) there's really not much reason for it to take a week to deliver.

        • Bought mine on 26th. Picked & sent on 27th & got Toll tracking no. on shipping notice email. Received on 30th in Syd.

Whereabouts are you? They may still have a backlog of late Xmas parcels left over to deliver.

        • Melbourne (Eastern suburbs).

        • I am in the same area and they tried to drop it off today but I was not home.
It should be pretty soon for you.

    • Mine were marked 'Sorted to destination' on the 27th (Friday), and 'Sorted for delivery' on the 30th (Monday), and still nothing…

      • I suggest you call them up before COB tomorrow. No point delaying chasing it up.

  • well my 2 games finally arrived, lucky I was waiting right near the door as the dodgy IPEC driver was literally out of the front gate to leave with my parcel 2 seconds after knocking

  • To my shock & awe today, I was doing some banking & noticed I got my money refunded for my order, but my order is still active & I already received my 2 games last week!

Looks like I will be getting a free xbox 360 (if it still gets shipped on 15th) + 2 games + $100 free (if they pay up)! Woohoo!

Can anyone else confirm this has happened to them?

    • Free games, maybe yes, but not the $100 cashback, because they're the one who run the cashback promotion. They can easily tell if the transaction has been cancelled.

      • What ever happens, I'm not out of pocket & no loss. Only gained 2 games which resell a ~$30-40 each.

    • I just checked my bank statement and found the payment never got taken out. Perhaps what you saw was just a holding payment which expired, and they'll take the payment out when the actual Xbox 360 gets sent?

      • I recon so. Similar thing happened to my paypal payment history.

      • Hmmm, maybe…got a bit too excited there. :D

All will be clear on the 15th.

        • Got the amount deducted again from my account. Guess the order is going ahead to be shipped on 15th or maybe even tomorrow.

  • I don't know if anyone else is in this position, but I'm still waiting on this Toll IPEC mob to deliver the games. Their ETA was Monday last week, and I've called up 5 times now (with the last time being on hold for an hour) asking to find out what's going on, with 3 times being told that I'll be called back with more info, yet have never been called back. It's even been listed as onboard with the driver since yesterday morning and I still haven't received it.

Safe to say if I ever use a courier myself it won't be Toll IPEC.

    • It's even been listed as onboard with the driver since yesterday morning and I still haven't received it.

I've come across many dodgy delivery drivers so far from some of the big name couriers. Once they have attempted delivery 1st time (but failed) they are too lazy to even write & leave a consignment note/card (even though they claimed they did when Q'd) & just leave. Which leaves you having to call them & chase it up. What I do when calling is to ask for the mbl no. of the driver as they have one per specific area & talk to them directly. Make sure you call early morning & not arvo as it may get pushed to next day (which may cause 'rinse & repeat' of undelivery).

Safe to say if I ever use a courier myself it won't be Toll IPEC

Worst I've had to put up with is CouriersPlease.

      • I know of others who've had problems with CouriersPlease, but when I've had deliveries from them they've been ok. This is by far the worst I've had.

    • The games finally arrived. It took Toll IPEC almost exactly two weeks to delivery a small box from Melbourne to Melbourne…

  • They replied to my query today.

    Thank you for your email.

We can confirm that your claim is eligible for the cash back in this promotion.  As per the terms and conditions of the promotion, you can expect to receive payment for the cash back by 28th February 2014.

    Kind Regards,
    Microsoft Cash Back Team

    Coolio.

    • What exactly was in your query if you don't mind me asking? Just so we're clear on how they've deemed you eligible.

  • well, just received a email saying that my orders been cancelled. Weird thing, from the email, it makes it seem like i cancelled it. Gonna email ms now to query that.

    • may I ask when you order?
My CC shows pending transaction, looks like mine is getting processed.

      • just called them and its because there were insufficient funds, i think its for the best, with all the issues surrounding the cashbacks, i can't really be bothered now.

  • Back in stock now. Still $169 bundled with 2 games.

    • $100 cash back is no longer available though.

  • my Xbox 360 4GB console from Microsoft store has shipped

    • Same here. Sould get it on Thursday.

    • Same here, got an SMS in the morning suggesting Friday Delivery!

  • Toll driver turned up was giving me wrong parcel.
Told him its not mine went back and got another someone else's parcel.
Now says he can't find mine and will come back tomorrow.
What a mess its not looking good.

    • Once again confirms how much I would never want to use these guys myself… Mine was marked 'Sorted for Delivery' at 4AM this morning. Let's see if it takes 2 weeks to arrive like the other package…

      • Mine said
4:02 am - 'SORTED FOR DELIVERY'
10:48 am - 'ON FOR DELIVERY'

Will wait and see what happens.

    • Toll driver turned up was giving me wrong parcel.
Told him its not mine went back and got another someone else's parcel.
Now says he can't find mine and will come back tomorrow.

Wow thats dodgy. Who hires these ppl? If it was a genuine mistake, then its acceptable. You'd think that they would make sure that the parcel was actually in the van/truck before going to that address (unless the driver is not the one who loaded the van & was just going off the system status)?

      • Current status shows

3:55 pm - UNDELIVERED (DRIVER LEFT CARD)

Looks like Melbourne's heat wave got him

Dodge driver no idea what he's doing.

Funny thing was he wanted to open one of the parcel to get some barcode which clearly was not addressed to me.

        • mine not looking good have been waiting all day
          and got this status

Thu 16/01/2014 9:41 AM MELBOURNE 1 UNDELIVERED (DRIVER LEFT CARD)

no card left no one came today 100%

  • My console will be delivered at 20th :(

  • Toll drivers wow, what a pack of dicks!
I had someone waiting carefully ALL DAY for the bastard. Door was open, and we were expecting the delivery as the SMS scheduled it for today. So it was being listened/looked for. Somehow the dodgy prick stealthily placed a card in the security door and did not press the bell. There was no car in the driveway but there was obviously someone home. I think he did the card in his van and was in and out in two seconds.
And… their number is useless. It has been permanently taken "more than the expected number of calls" all freaking afternoon - cant get through.Grrr useless!

    • AHHHHHH
I cannot get through on their phone number ever. There is always the "unexpectedly high call volume" message. EVERY TIME.

      WORST. COURIER. EVER.

      • Even I have been trying and get same message.

  • My console just arrived. Really wasn't expecting it given their tracking doesn't mention it's on for delivery. 2 days is a whole lot better than 2 weeks, but I still wouldn't choose to use Toll IPEC…

  • The Toll IPEC driver rang the bell once and spent literally 2 seconds at my door before heading off, and I just managed to cut him off before he went out my gate! I guess I should count myself lucky he actually bothered to come to the door at all! ;)

Let's hope Microsoft comes to the party with the cashback. :)

  • Not happy Jan.
I really tried to have somebody ready to collect mine at the door as I didn't want a kicked around multiple handled (dropped etc) re-delivered item.
That is if I ever manage to get through on their utter joke of a "customer care" line.
TOLL/iPec are totally taking the piss with these two-second-at-the-door-then run drivers PLUS the comedy phone line.
    Whankers.

    • Try email message on https://www.tollgroup.com/contactus

I left message and got a call back within 1 hr.

was told will be delivered tomorrow - fingers crossed.

      • Thanks. I gave that a go- lets see.

      • No delivery today :( Toll did it again.

This whole thing is like an adventure game.
        Stage 1 : 2 x games delivered - complete
Stage 2 : Console - mine still in progress
Stage 3 (Final) - $100 cash back - this stage will be hardest hope we all complete this by 28 February 2014

        • Hahaha same as me.
Promised delivery today after being booked in over the phone. Zip nothing and nada.
Another day screwed around and wasted.
          Phuck them, they are useless.

        • Finally got my Xbox today.
          Now moving to final stage.

        • Third day in a row promised between 9 and 5pm but not delivered, no SMS, call or email.

Toll IPEC = THE WORST COURIERS EVER. Just unbelievable.
          They are outright liars.

        • +1

Finally got my battered, opened package.
I had to call Microsoft and have them chase it up. No thing the call center said was ever true, on the few occassional after hours of waiting that I got through.

TOLL iPEC are hopeless. They are outright liars and totally dodgy. They simple so not come at the arranged times.

In the future, I will avoid this company like the plague.

  • +2

Now that most of you finally got your consoles, who wants to coop gow?

  • Now to think about where to get a second controller.. Ebay has genuine ones for around $50 and non-genuine ones for $30.

  • Got mine today.. hohoohoh

  • Got an invoice in an envelope sent from malaysia apparently. No idea what the purpose of it is considering it's available online.

    • Anything mentioned anywhere in the letter about the cashback?

      • I threw away the letter but IIRC, no it didn't. Just your standard receipt.

  • hmm I have zero faith that I'm going to get my cashback, I've just received a email saying that they couldn't read my purchase receipt details and that I need to resend the details so they can read them, a lot of bullshit as it was a pdf of the exact receipt from the Microsoft store purchase, pdf's image quality is a exact copy of the receipt issued not some dodgy arse scan that's illegible ,they have had 2 months to request the purchase receipts again but leave it until the last minute with 2 days remaining , coincidence I think not

    • Maybe they didn't accept the screencapped/print to file vers? If so, we're all screwed…

For the record I did a scrolling screencap in snagit saved in BMP. So far haven't received any email about what you mentioned.

Some PDF printer SW stuff up the formatting of page so it doesn't appear the same as in print preview.

Guess now you could just scan the invoice you got with the 360. Takes 30 secs + 1-2mins to email to them.

They stated they'd pay up before the end of Feb (28th?) so fingers crossed.

    • -1

WHat was the email address ( the part after the @ ) where it cam from? I still think this is a scam to collect CC information, or whatever you do upload ….

      • I still think this is a scam to collect CC information

You're seriously suggesting that Microsoft are struggling that much to get information from users that they need to set up a cash back scam?

      • "xBox360CashBack" <[email protected]

  • this is the email they sent, bloody pdf met all the criteria

Thank you for your recent submission as part of the Xbox 360 $100 Cashback Promotion.

We have received your claim, however the receipt you have uploaded has not been clear and as such we have been unable to process your claim.

In order for us to process your claim, can you please resend to us a copy of your purchase receipt which clearly shows the below information.

    · Store Name

    · Date purchased

    · Product purchased

    · Total amount paid (no balance owing)

Please note that this needs to be received by COB Monday 10th February in order for your claim to be processed.

    Kind regards,

    Microsoft Xbox Cashback Customer Service

  • so no one else received the email?

hmm they haven't even replied to confirm if my receipt I resubmitted is satisfactory , all a bit dodgey and ordinarily handled, I don't think I've had a rebate promotion ever go smoothly ..grrr

    • Nope, haven't received anything from them…

      • Me too. Still waiting…

        • Ditto, haven't heard a word from them here.

If there's any issue with Microsoft honouring this, we all still have recourse through the ACCC, state fair trading departments, and state consumer tribunals. A few years ago, HP tried to cheat me out of ~$300 cashback — after many months of being ignored, I filed a dispute with the VCAT in Victoria and HP sent me my money not long afterwards — just before it went to a hearing. Turns out I wasn't the only one to have issues with HP — the ACCC received over 190 complaints about that particular HP promotion: http://www.accc.gov.au/media-release/hewlett-packard-changes…

  • Received confirmation regarding my eligibility to the cash back, but they are really taking their time eh?

Do they have to wait till the last day (28 Feb) to actually process the cash back?

    • I think it's pretty typical that they don't start processing these things until a few days after the last date for submissions (which I believe was 31st Jan).

    • -1

Do they have to wait till the last day (28 Feb) to actually process the cash back?

I think most cashback promotions take their time on purpose, just so they can milk as much interest as possible.
