I’ve never heard of an MSI claw so googled it

    This review is scathing

Goddamn, at that price I'd buy one just so my Steam Deck has someone to play with when I'm at work.

    The Verge review !!
Wow ! It could not be worse !!!

No one should buy an MSI Claw. It’s not technically broken: the first 7-inch Intel Core Ultra handheld gaming PC doesn’t regularly crash or anything like that. But the Claw falls so far short of the competition that it’s effectively dead on arrival.

In almost every way, the $750 MSI Claw feels like an inferior clone of the Asus ROG Ally — except it costs more, not less! You could get a far better experience while saving hundreds of dollars if you choose a Steam Deck OLED instead.

i dont know whether it is good or not, but to be fair, that review was written at a $750 USD price point, that is $1200 AUD, this is half that price

Can you just use a USB-C dock/hub with it and use it at a mini PC at home?

    • +1

Sure, it's a full Windows PC. Just don't expect amazing performance.

$599 at Bing Lee for non Costco members.

    • Better off getting it from JW, same price but 1TB storage.

    I'll do it for 100

    • lol you can keep dreaming

  • How are you supposed to know if there is stock or not?

  • Where did you see this? Can't see it on the Costco website

They had them in Casuarina costco in WA. Grabbed one. So far it feels ergonomically well designed.

One thing is forsure, the storage is light at 512G NVMe.. any on sale atm? 2TB should be goo enough to have fun with a few games. Other then that about a million updates.

Feels good so far connected to external screen and keyboard. Not sure if thats the way it was intended but it wasnt setup to use on the touch screen off the bat, and i had no choice but to connect externally.

Once the updates and patches are applied i will install some games and see how she runs.

    • 1TB's on sale at Kogan

  • Anyway so there's one left at Coomera and another one on display.

MSI software is really, really bad, but performance seems okay so far. Will probably use it for emulation. Speakers are surprisingly good.

Epping seemed to have a bunch of placards for them, but don't know if that reflects the quantity available.

After all the updates (BIOS, drivers & Windows) I'm really surprised & happy with the performance. All the games I've tried (top down, sidescrollers, arpgs etc) have run well. Not a fan of fps on controller so haven't bothered with any.

Wish the screen was OLED but it looks nice all the same. Unit seems well made. Controls feel good overall. Speakers sound great for what they are. Battery life kind of sucks (but I hear they all do) and the haptics are kind of meh.

Can't be disappointed at this price compared to the competition.

    • Yeah i agree.

  • No stock at Auburn despite having the cards on display.
