he raises a valid point. cheap asian phones are destroying the australian mobile phone manufacturing industry

        • Which brand, may I know, belongs to Australian phone manufacturing industry?

this is definitely the cheapest 3G dual core Android phone i've seen so far, but the 512mb ROM is a concern, could you even fit Android 4.1 into that small storage? you need space for the Android image + app storage
ps love that name, sounds very similar to a swear word in Greek… :O

    • That's around 250mb for system partition, leaving you about 250mb for user apps.

That's about on par with many budget devices like a Huawei sonic.

  • Network frequency: GSM 900/1800MHz WCDMA 2100MHz

    This is a worry…

    • Not really, like I posted on another chinese phone post - I'm currently using only 2100MHz and it's exactly the same as when I had my 2100/900 phone since I never go far out enough for it to be a problem.

      • Dual band GSM means you're pretty screwed if you ever travel.

        • It's actually 800/850/2100 so I'll be fine.

    • Is there a way of selecting WCDMA 900/2100MHz on their website? Been looking for a cheap phone that may last 2 years but need GPS and Android 4+.

Might have thought about this if I didnt already get a G526

Better off spending $36 more to get it local with a better brand, better specs and 4G support:

    • Too late for that one.
But I don't generally see the point in importing a no-name phone with no warranty, when you can get a brand-name one locally, subsidised as a prepaid, and unlock for little or nothing. Unless it has something special that you want, like dual-SIM.
