  • Is that one transaction of $250 or combined?

    • The T&C suggests that it is a single transaction.

…and spend $250 in an Eligible Transaction on…

      1. Register your eligible American Express® Card
      2. Shop at Woolworths Online, Masters Online, Big W online or Dan Murphy's online.
      3. Once you've spent $250 at any combination of participating online merchants you'll receive a $50 statement credit back to your American Express® Card.
      • does it means we can purchase $100 at wollies, $100 at big w and another $50 at dan murphy?

        • -1

You can do that by purchasing a wish gift card I suppose?

        • "The following are not Eligible Transactions:

          • Purchasing the merchant's goods through a third party, such as through a department store, concession store, online aggregator such as Paypal or retailer
          • Purchasing gift cards from a merchant
          • Transactions that are subsequently cancelled or refunded
          • Purchases of smoking and tobacco product and accessories
          • Woolworths Online delivery fee
          • Online Gift Cards or Vouchers are excluded from the qualifying amount."

      • @ Fishy, where did you find the exact description as "at any combination of participating online merchants"?

      • I can't see where it says you can split up transactions either.

      • +2

so it is ONE transaction or any COMBINATION? it is very important.

          Emailed amex got this response

          Dear Sir/Madam.

          Many thanks for your email.

I apologize that this was not made clearer ,

Please be advised that the offer is cumulatively, so multiple transactions are fine.

          Kind Regards

    • thanks.. that worked :)..

now.. whats on sale at Big W?

  • So I can buy a ps vita from big w online and claim back $50? Sounds good.

    • Yes

      • Do you have to register first or after you've made your purchase?

        • +1

Register first, then buy things then in a few months or so you will get credited

        • Only valid transactions made:
          1. on your Registered Card;
          2. after the date you register your Card; and
          3. Directly at Woolworths Online, Masters Online, Dan Murphy's online and/or Big W online stores are Eligible Transactions.

    • Not a bad idea, brings it to $218 (3G)

  • can I buy gift card? :)

    • I think so. Previous campaigns have worked for this

    • The following are not Eligible Transactions:

      • Purchasing gift cards from a merchant

    • T&C says Gift cards are not eligible

      • ahhh my bad… allthough how would they know?

the receipt and the amex txn will say woolies purchace.

        • Woolworths & Big W don't have Gift Card online

not sure abt Dan Murphy's & Masters… but im sure they can track it

$50 Credit Back Online stores ONLY

        • +7

oops , didnt see that coming

I should learn how to read :D

  • Cool. I hope it works.

  • Time to stock up on some grog

  • -2

    • Woolworths Online delivery fee [excluded]

Dont online delivery fees mean you need to minimise the number of purchases since each one eats into the potential $50 profit? Or are store pickups available?

Because I wouldn't buy groceries online. Short of someone already wanting to buy a big ticket item at Big W, I can't see this as worthwhile. Sounds good on paper, doesn't work in practice.

    Another amex fail.

    • click and collect, Dan Murphys

    • Or think of it as $50 worth of free delivery fees.

    • I buy groceries online all the time. I normally spend over $300, so for me it's $50 for no change in habit. Just because it doesn't work in with your current spending habits doesn't make it a fail. After all promotions are usually to get people doing something they weren't before. In this case getting people (you) to spend over $250 online.

please add this to the description - this deal not going to last long

Participation is limited to the first 2,200 cards to be registered. The Offer is limited to one statement credit for each Registered Card.

    • So supplementary cards shouldn't bother registering if the primary card has already registered?

      • +2

        Supplementary cards work
All the previous AMEX offers, my supplementary card worked

        • ur supplementary card got different ending numbers to ur primary card?

        • +1

          yes

        • Also says….

The Offer is limited to one statement credit for each Registered Card.

        • ic… mine are all the same except the name on the card… doest matter which card i got… master, visa or amex…

        • Mine too..

          This is on their page:
Please note that this registered Card number is the only Card that can receive the offer. Any other eligible Cards (including those linked to the same account) must be registered separately.

Must mean that supplementary cards will work too.

        • Yep that's my reading of it….register both cards, use both cards, get $50 on each….$250 @ DM = $200 = 25% off. Just in time for Grand Final weekend.

        • I just went to register my card which is the main card after the misses registered the secondary card and got the error message;

"Oops, our records show that you've already enrolled for this offer. We limit the number of times that a Cardmember can enrol for each offer. "

        • Did you use different names, email addresses and card numbers? I did that, and didn't get that message.

        • worked for my supplementary card

        • My supp card has same number, thats why.

  • Wonder if the new iPad 5 will be release in time for this?

    • JUust register and see. no harm in registering

      • +1

You can't purchase iPad from online store from either BigW or DSE.

        • DSE isn't in this deal

        • I don't see why not.

        • seems can order and pay online and pickup in nominated bigw store?

        • +1

          DSE isn't in this deal

          I don't see why not

DSE is not owned by Woolworths anymore…

        • +1

DSE is not part of Woolworths any more

        • Yes you can…

EDIT: No you can't, Click and collect only in Sydney

  • what is worth buying from bigw? any good deals?

  • +1

If you were to spend your $250 at Woolworths online, there is also 5 Membership Rewards points per dollar. I have not read the terms and conditions so do not know if they stack: https://www.americanexpress.com/australia/bonus-partners/det…

    • I think it is stackable and single use only so it cannot be abused.

"The Bonus Points offer is applicable only once, on your first eligible purchase between 1 September 2013 and 30 November 2013, up to 10,000 points. Gift Cards purchases are excluded. "

flybuys do the triple, 5x points thing monthly or fortnightly too so Woolies must compete.

    • "Unfortunately this campaign is by invitation only. Please visit http://www.americanexpress.com.au/more for other fabulous offers."

      • Do you have an American Express issued Amex?

        • Yes, and I get the same refusal.

        • Actually, no I don't. Mine is bank issued.
I'm not sure what I was thinking.

    cani buy iphone 5s tommorrow?

    http://www.bigw.com.au/electronics

    • why not?

      • I don't think so. iPhone 5 is not available online currently

        • what about tomorrow at 8

  • +5% staff discount

  • +trs claim

  • ok, so what is good to buy?

    • I'm still deciding…

  • What about a PS4? Will it work on this?

    http://www.bigw.com.au/offer/ps4

    • Release date of PS4 is after expiry of the amex offer

      • Yes, but can you pay and then pick it up later when it actually releases?

At the moment the PS4 has no options for this.

        But the Xbox One does:
        http://www.bigw.com.au/entertainment/video-games-consoles/xb…

      • it is not smart to save up only $50 for something that may cost around $600. it is certainly cheaper to buy from other places.

  • What's the deal with Dan Murphy's click & collect? You wait 2 hours and then go and pick it up? Do you get an email or something when it's ready?

    Edit - Nevermind

"We'll send an SMS when your order is ready for collection."

    • Can't buy it online.

  • +2

    • Yes, that would be my bargain of choice for this offer too, a Nexus 7 (2013), but I don't think BigW sells them. At least not yet?

    • +1

OK in that case you buy a Tab 3 8" for me and you get the $50 credit :)
