Dammit, succumbed to temptation (again) and bought one.

  • I guess they mean it is wireless USB?
I got the Bluetooth version (which uses 2.4GHz RF) and it is good.

    • is the bluetooth one on sale as well?

I bought this one last time,I am not very happy with it to be honest. This calculator chews alot of battery.

    • How can you be posting on ozbargain, and not heard of eneloop batteries? Perfect for such applications.

    • So what's the solar on it good for then?

On some calculators, the calculator can run from the solar cell, even with interior lighting inside an office. I have a couple of such calculators, I took the battery out years ago and they still work.

In cheaper calculators, the solar cell is only sufficient if the calculator is in direct sun. I have a $30 HP calculator like that, rather disappointing. Battery still needed. The above deal is probably such a calculator.

In junk stores you can often find $5 calculators with a "solar cell" on them. I took one apart, and found that the solar cell was a piece of printed cardboard.

        • I'm guessing running the wireless radio off the solar cell would be a bit of an ask.

        • Correct. Solar panel for calculator only.

  • Thanks - just ordered 2

Note: no postage discount, so $7.98 each no matter how many you buy. Max purchase is 5, but I only have 2 hands.
