How is this a bargain? Most of them off a "free" photo shoot and then skin you with the photo prices…

$100 credit to use towards any portraits of your choice.

So there is no minimum purchase? You get a free shoot and $100 free photos ??? Can you confirm?

      probably like $150 for a basic 6x4….

that would make it…. $50! savings!!!!

      /sarcasm

Hmm, yeah I realise it's a bad deal now.

I didn't check for how much they charge the photos, thinking $100 should be sufficient for a few.

        Silly me.

  • But its upwards of $100 for one photo anyway.

/\ Photo price list, oh and may I add Bahahahahaha!!!!
Do people really drop $245 for 1! 8x10 photo?

This is a joke right? Am I on candid camera?

Do people really drop $245 for 1! 8x10 photo?

That's unframed. $120 extra for framing that 8x10!

      • u can bargain with them but they won't drop the price much unless you are making a big order

    Yeah photos r expensive there.

I had previously bought a $29 online voucher deal for one free photo for my partner.

Did the photoshoot, obtained that ONE photo. Anymore photos would cost $100+

  • Photoshoot is free and quality of service is great, until you get given the pricelist.

A 10x12 photo unframed will set you back $300 or more, no negatives either so you have to go back and pay another $300 for a second copy.

No deal for me. Though I wouldnt neg.

  • I got another one in the mail last week …

I had 'won' a competition and have 3hrs Hair & Make up session & $200 credit towards photo's

Each print Photo is $250 each!!

are these Photography companies copying each other ?

are people really that nieve to fall for this crap?

    • devils advocate here - but you see now a lot of new massage parlours in shopping centres charging $80-100 / hour and they have little in terms of outlay on equipment.

however a photographer is supposed to work for an hour and get paid less than that?

  • So is it really a free professional hair and makeup session?

Assuming you don't buy any photos?

  • Stories from my two friends they ended up paying $600 for buying the photos. (poor guys, yeh they are the one paid)

yes they actually do a professional hair and make up and take many photos and throw it you in 30 minutes all the photos will engourage you to buy or your partner will insist you to buy them.

from the stories for me its not a deal

  • read the contract carefully and ensure you're not granting them any rights to the photos you take with them…

  • Book the photo shoot before you have a big event like a wedding - get the hair and makeup take some snaps and walk out all glammed up!

  • at the end, can we no buy any photo?

    .

  • Have to neg this … don't like this type of advertising where you think you get something for free but actually have to pay high prices when you want a product. The prices start at $245 for an 8x10 print unframed … so when you only want only one little pic you have to pay $145. A unframed 20 inch portrait picture would set you back $525. Three hours … hair & makeup … different outfits will create lots of beautiful pics —> So you might end up paying a lot for your photos. (prices here: http://starshots.com.au/cms/presentation_gallery/9ad1d1fc6ff…)

I know that good photos are expensive, take a lot of effort to create and the equipment is expensive. When you are after a hair and makeup session and want to spend 3 hours + photo viewing time for it … go for it … I guess it is possible to do this. When you are after some nice portraits and pictures I would suggest to find another deal.

  • Can anybody recommend a similar service that is affordable?

Heres a similar service that is affordable… http://aastudiosinc.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/06/booth_11.…

    :)

I'm a photographer (I dont do portraits) but its standard practice to work like this. Your hourly rate has got to pay for the studio, all your gear, stylists, etc. I agree, though that it shouldn't be on Ozbargain.
