UPDATED (Full 800 SKU Included See Update 2) Deal Extreme - 50% off Hundreds of Items!

38215
AUDirect0515

Deal Extreme offering 50% off a huge selection of items!!

There's Quad Core Tablets (under $100)
http://dx.com/p/freelander-pd30-quad-core-8-ips-capacitive-s…

Exynos 7" tab for $88
http://dx.com/p/freelander-pd10hd-7-ips-exynos4412-quad-core…

THL W8 Quad Core phone ($116)
http://dx.com/p/thl-w8-android-4-1-quad-core-bar-phone-w-5-0…

Update:

http://dx.com/mayhalfprice?utm_source=dx&utm_medium=cdn&utm_…

According to this, they will be rotating the deals throughout the day (800 SKUs with total quantity of 40,000) to cover a bunch of other products too. Check back whenever you can to see if theres anything new!

Update 2:

http://dx.com/mayhalfprice/Default/ShoppingList

They have pushed out another list of more items! It does verify the theory that the initial page was for DX AU deliveries whilst this is the International 50% off section. Please be aware that there will be longer delivery times for this since it needs to be shipped directly from China as opposed to the DX AU (which apparently has warehouse in Perth).

Update 3:
Offer is pretty much officially "Ozbargained" with the only remaining stock to be either very specialist products (Spare battery for product x), Seasonal products (Christmas), or stuff that not many people want. The only thing I am hoping for is that they can fulfill all orders so everyone is happy.

DX has subtly stated however, (Broken English) "If the customers who participate in this activity are more than expected which results in lack of product supply, we have to process refund for the oversold items, please kindly understand." which may account for some people's Paypals reported refunded against.

Update 4:

Have to apologise in advance to anyone who doesnt get the stock for this deal. Despite being the OP and putting the order through before others, I have now received a cancellation against my two orders (W8 and PD10). It is seemingly like a lottery to get stock. Very very disappointed. :(

Update 5:

After a disappointing weekend, DX has now come back to affected customers with a voucher that's worth 15% of the original total order. So, if your order was $200, then they will give you back $30 worth as a rebate in compensation to be used in DX. Apparently the stock is still available - but not it has changed to a different SKU but they are offering 15% off the original price. This is pretty beneficial if your original order was expensive (and hence you can get back a higher rebate value) - but typically most would only have done a $200 order with $30 rebated.

The new link is here: http://dx.com/l/au-direct/2013-02/special-items.aspx

As you can see, the deal is nowhere near as good as before. However, it is up to you as an individual to see if it is still good value enough to continue making the purchases.

    • It all depends on the bitrate of the file (An iTunes WEB-DL is going to be lower than a standard scene release Blu-Ray rip, which in turn would be lower than, say, an HDB internal, which would be way lower than a Blu-Ray remux) as well as your wireless strength/interference/etc.

Remuxes aside you typically you only need 5 to 10Mbps of actual throughput which is perfectly acheivable over for 11g.

I have noticed other listings of the DITTER V12 claim it has 11n (example: http://ebayitem.com/251264059237 ) so who knows what it actually has. If it sucks you might also be able to plug a (better) wifi adapter into the USB port.

For those who bought THL W8, here is the instruction how to upgrade to 4.2.1v of Android. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2249808

    • +3

i almost tought W8 means windows 8… or maybe dual boot win 8 and android

      • I wish, but I think it's not possible to run Windows on an android based phone

  • is the ditter V12 good? dont want to spend and ended up dont use it as it too lag or useless

  • With the LED lighting strip RGB 5050 can these be daisy chained to create a longer strip and are power extension leads for the connector commonly available?

    • Even at 5m, they are dimmer at one end. You should supply power every few metres. Decent guage speaker wire will do it. Connectors are easily available if you do not want to solder.

      • Thanks manic

  • Btw, does anyone know why there are occasionally duplicates of various items with a couple of bucks difference in price?

    • different suppliers, often the products can have small differences that might mean a lot such as firmware that isn't a buggy piece of junk.

  • Long time lurker finally signed up just to thank OP. And everyone for advice throughout this thread. Great deals.
Plonked down some cash for the FREELANDER PD80-HD 9.7"

    • That's what I brought, super bargain…even better than the Sony tablet S.

  • They're really having a 50% off I already spent over $300 on cheap phone, tablet, android player and flash lights. Excellent!

  • Can't decide between the PD80 or PD30 for the kids. The PD80 is much nicer resolution, but maybe too big for 3 and 5 year old hands? USB charging would also be easier in the car - any idea if USB actually charges whilst the tablet is on and being used?

      Just buy what you need.

      • +13

I can't imagine there'd be anything on DX that anyone actually needs…..

'Wants', yes definitely…. 'Needs', I doubt it :-)

    • I got the bigger one for the kids, having seen my toddler with an iPad as well as an iPad mini, he just plonks it on his lap anyway, it's not like they're using it in bed or anything. I find that he likes the bigger icons etc on the bigger screen.

  • :( No shipping to my postcode.

  • Forgive my lack of knowledge with Android and these TV sticks, however, would it be possible to set the Ditter V12 up so it boots straight into XBMC and reads media off a USB HDD?

    • Not sure about booting directly into XBMC, but reading media of a USB HDD should be possible. Only issue is if the HDD needs power to run, then you'd need a powered USB port (not sure it the Android stick provides one).

    • can it support USB hub?

Is it me or feels like dx jacked up there prices before having this half price promo?

    • from what I can see never more than a very small fraction if anything. DX is usually a bit more expensive than typical ebay price

  • +1

Does the Ditter v12 really not have wireless N? Seems strange Googling it says it should.
Was going to buy one but can't get it if it doesn't.

  • Very good price. Just bought the phone and Ditter.

Can the OzBargain experts please suggest any tablet with 3G option and not just wi fi? Was looking at the PD80 but doesnt have the 3G option. Appreciate it. Thanks.

Guys I am trying to find this type of adapter on DX http://store.apple.com/au/product/MD098ZM/A/apple-digital-av…
I have failed in finding it, if someone could help me out please. The ones I have seen have output of HDMI and USB, but I want HDMI and 30-pin socket so I am able to charge the ipad and have it plugged into tv

We're more Android inclined on this site I have to say…

  • does anyone know if DITTER V12 work with a USB hub?

if it does, I will buy

    • It should work, I don't see why it wouldn't

  • sale about to start :)

  • Woo MK808B on sale- $23.95

    Bought already!

  • +1

Forget the Ditter V12, the MK808B is now on sale!

    Edit: beaten by ycon.

    • Almost identical to me. You can check the reviews for more info.

      • A few reviews for failed and doa for the mk809, might better for the mk808

    • +2

can you explain why MK808B is better than Ditter v12? I actually like the fact the Ditter has the male HDMI so I don't have to carry an extra cable.

      • +1

I actually like the fact the Ditter has the male HDMI so I don't have to carry an extra cable.

        Same here…

  • +2

On the Ditter V12 … generally what do you guys use it for? Can it be used to access movie via internet streaming e.g. accessing youtube, etc.

  • Got myself a PD10HD
    Wonder how many were sold.

  • anyone suggest a tablet for about $50 or under… i know they would be shite but looking at the best of the worst if that makes sense

    • I think the quad core for $60 is worth the extra $10 on your budget.
Otherwise, the dual core ones will not be too bad, but steer clear of the single core $35 ones.
If it has to be under $50, I think the $41 freelander PD10UP is the best option as the PD20 is limited to 800x480.

  • bought the mk808b

  • I'm going to get one of the wireless IP cameras for $31.50, just finished going through all the pages, that's all I want I think. Anyone else?

    • +1

Be aware some of them have issues connecting to wireless networks.

I have one that connects to my network and one that doesn't (different supplier, same product)

      • Yeah I went through the reviews are most were decent, fingers crossed, cheers for the heads up though :)

        • +2

I bought one ages ago for around $70. Bricked itself after a few hours, couldn't connect to any network. Sent back to DX for warranty and because I didn't get tracking when I sent it back they claimed that they never received it and that they couldn't help me. They told me that within 15 minutes of me sending it. They didn't even wait to see if it came. It's obvious they stole my camera, got it fixed and resold it.

They're crap, don't waste your money.

        • Alright I backed out of the purchase, it had favourable reviews 4/5 average, but after reading these ozb comments and seeing how long and difficult it is to update the firmware decided not to bother.

  • Been through all the pages- don't seem to be many (if any) SIII accessories. Was hoping for their extended battery pack and an FM transmitter. Ah well…

Any suggestion on a good case for 9.7" and 7' tablet???

    $15.75 for Sandisk 32GB MicroSD Class 10…

    • +2

Great price I bought one. That deserves a mention in the description!

      • I bought 4 of them…

They only let you add 1 to the cart at any time, so I had to place 4 orders. But units 2, 3, and 4, I combined with something else.

        All up I got:

        4x Sandisk 32GB MicroSD Class 10
        1x THL W8 phone
        1x Freelander PD80-HD
        1x Ditter

I really hope things get here in a timely fashion and I don't end up sweating it out for 2+ months due to no stock…

        • wow that's like nearly $300

        • Do you get a discount for combined orders?

        • Do you get a discount for combined orders?

          No.. are you supposed to?

It wasn't possible to order more than 1 SD card per order so I had to break it up.

        • Not that I know of. Was just wondering.

        • i'd buy a headband illumination if i were you.

        • +1

          I bought 4 of them…
          4x Sandisk 32GB MicroSD Class 10

I doubt they'll ship you 4 memory cards. If they find out you broke the rule, they'll cancel all your orders.

    • good find - damn missed it, sold out - too many pages to click through :(

      • Same! Got to the final page of payment…then it said "Order failed"!

  • Bought PD80HD.

    • You and I and a thousand others. How many in stock?

  • grabbed one of the pd10hd as well
was about to buy a nexus the other day
will be fun to see how it goes.

  • Which tablet would be best for travel?
Looking for something with a good screen, can play hd movies and has a decent battery life.

    • +1

None of these in my opinion, get a proper branded tablet.

  • so which android tv stick is the best to get now? MK808, 809? or ditter?

    • I think the MK808B is the one to get, since it's got a bit more support for roms.

    • +2

excuse my noob-ness, but what exactly do all these google TV sticks give you?

      • +1

bascially, it's useing your tv as a screen for the Android OS to run on it hence you need a wireless and mouse combo in order to get it work.

    • 808 or 809 seems more support than the ditter. I'm going for the 808 but no specific reason between the two as they seem similar.
Any idea what sort of remote would work best?

    • Been looking for a while and I decided on the MK808B which I just ordered with the air mouse/keyboard "Mele F10 Fly Mouse 3-in-1 2.4GHz Wireless Air Mouse + Keyboard + Remote Control - Black" (as well as a 32gb microsd ;) )

  • Any recommendations for an 8inch 4x3 tablet?
Mainly want to use it for reading PDF documents. Ideally big battery life while being light weight

    • I've ordered the 8in quad core for $60. Screen res is not super and no IPS, but great price.

      • Ok I've made up my mind for the Freelandia PD30
Seems the best one out of the lot

    ip camera is so tempting.

$18.50 cheaper than kogan and looks to be the same thing, except for international power adapter

    • 18.50? It's almost half price, Kogan is $59

    • These are bad, don't work very well at all.

  • Just bought the mk808b & measy rc11 air remote for a total of $35.10. Glad I waited for the sale awesome price.

    • Sh*T! Missed out, out of stock!

    • I've never had this thing before…. and would also like to know if this Android Stick work with LCD Mon only with DVI-D and VGA plug?
