Yes, a great gift for my 94 year old father in law!

My 85-year old grandma got freaked out by the changing pictures. We had to leave it at just 1.

      • Yes, low resolution is no longer a problem for him.

    • -1

Low resolution, a waste of time and space.

      • for the price it would be Ok, you obviously expect a lot more for that price.

  • Thanks op:), some stock in wynnum, Carindale (QLD).

    • a bit less stock in Carindale now :)

      • Bugger - no stock Carindale!

These things always have a bad resolution and hurt my eyes to look at :/

I got given one once but couldn't justify the electricity wastage and so its collecting dust in the cupboard.

    • +4

Oh so that's how you really feel? The truth finally comes out. You seemed pretty ecstatic when I gave it to you…

      • +1

The truth hurts.. Sorry have a hug

Thanks. I cleared out claremont quarter and fremantle (one each)

    some at perth cbd still

  • Thanks OP, seem to be becoming a regular visitor to the North Sydney store - power boards, record players, blu-rays and now this … where will it end !

  • Great deal, I think I paid about $100 for mine a while back but I'm not sure if it's the exact same one. Nice homework with the availability list too!
These make an effective, but fiddly to set up, alarm clock. I've got a picture of a rising sun on mine, and some mp3s. Set it to automatically play music when it boots, and set it to come on at the time you want to wake up (don't use the "alarm" setting) then turn off automatically an hour or so later. At that time the "sun" will come up and light up your room and the music will play. The only problem is you need to reset the clock if you lose power. It will also only play the last song that was playing on it instead of being random at boot but that doesn't worry me too much.

is this the same model as yours? From the spec and manual, this can only play JPEG? if it play music, can it play video?

      • They look the same, but may not be - you'd think they'd advertise mp3/video capability if they had it I guess. I think mine plays video but haven't tried.

  • Great stuff…. Thanks the availability

  • I dislike Click & Collect now since they took my local store away.

  • Low stock everywhere in VIC, need to call store for products :(

  • Thanks OP, i reserved one via click and collect at Northland Store, the in laws would love it !

cheap but 480X234 is terrible resolution

    • +1

Yes. What's the point to purchase something cheap but doesn't display the photos clearly? We buy photo frames to see photos, not to browse blurry objects.

    • +1

the 8" is $21 but at least it's 800x600 resolution.

I'd pay another $8 for a better resolution ratio.

      • only if it's in stock

  • no stock around my area … oh well saved myself $13 lol

  • +1

    Add these to list:

    Macarthur Square (Large)
    Bowral
    Narellan
    Menai Central

  • Just ordered 2 to collect from Narelen, Thanks to Steptoe

  • Can i use a 4GB USB drive?

  • I'm not very familiar with digital frames, if you have pictures of a higher resolution loaded, does it scale them down to its own resolution or just not show the picture at all?

    • They get scaled down, so the whole picture will be shown, but in a low resolution. Some frames have a limit on how big the picture can be that will still work, not sure about this one but for regular cameras it'll be fine

no stock anywhere like usual DSE deals :(

  • +1

low resolution, no point to buy

  • plenty of stocks at hobart store..lol

  • after a bit of thinking, i dont think i need one. if someone is interested to pick up from victoria garden melbourne,PM me.
i will email the click and collect reservation. . first come first serve.

went to the store and checked the display one. Terrible design and screen, regular price is $16 and now $13.5. Better to purchase the $21 10' one, much better.

  • I bought a few the low res ones as a gift for people overseas but my god the pics looked really bad,
    Not worth the bother imho.

Maybe ok for a 94 year old with poor vision , but for everyone else, give it a miss.

  • disappointed. display product with scratch, finger print. one or two years on display i guess.

  • I got one but the deal breaker for me is that there's no randomisation of photo display order.
So I have 2000 photos on a USB stick but every time I power it off (not even at the power point, just stop displaying pics) it goes back to the start…. seeing as I don't plan to leave it running constantly I'd just end up seeing the same photos most of the time.

Does anyone know a digital frame with a randomised display ability?
