Awesome was feeling hungry and too lazy to head out in this cold weather :)

  • +2

I received this code in an email from Menulog & voucher graphic states "$10 Takeaway Voucher".
But under the voucher: "Terms & Conditions: Voucher is valid until 25/03/2013. Voucher can only be used once per household. Orders must be payable by credit card. Delivery only."
    Very confused offer!

    • -3

How is it confusing? Makes perfect sense to me

      • +1

They give you a $10 Takeaway voucher for delived food only?

        • It's $10 off the cost when you select home delivery only, can't use the coupon instore and you must pay by a mastercard/amex/visa card online.

        • +3

Yes - we all get that.
But the (large) voucher graphic in the original email says "$10 Takeaway Voucher: D7C2AD".
Thats why I said this offer is confusing - a large green Takeaway voucher followed by small print ending in Delivery only??
When on is a Takeaway Voucher not for Takeaway orders?

Have the original email offer (received yesterday) in front of me…

Well it makes perfect sense, you're just nitpicking at the wording :)

Btw, you can neg this comment, but it's true, he is doing nothing but nitpick over something so minor.

        • +1

The wording IS the offer! You have seen the original offer? It is contradictory.
Normally these offers are Delivery only. Was happy to see it is a "Takeaway voucher".
I am just saying it may be for TAKEAWAY as well!! Try it! It may work - but probably not.

        • +3

takeaway/takeout - Food cooked and sold by a restaurant or store to be eaten elsewhere. not what you believe it to mean.

        • -1

MenuLog bills itself as "Australia's largest takeaway and
home delivery website!" from this email offer. They specify the difference between takeaway & delivery. This was an offer of a "Takeaway voucher". But was not one :(

  • +2

Sorry if this has been answered before but does menulog pay the restaurant the $10? I feel bad getting an order delivered and only having to pay $2~ dollars.

    • I'd like to know this also :)

      • +3

Receipts from the restaurant always have the totals showing before the discount. I'd suggest that Menulog pay at least a portion of this.

    • +3

Every time I've seen a receipt from the restaurants it always shows the full amount so I'm guessing Menulog pays.

    • +8

you are on the wrong website to be worried about that :)

    • +4

I have never seen a restaurant bat an eyelid when I have used a voucher, I get the impression that they do not even know that I have used a voucher.

      • -6

Previously used 9 x $10 of free vouchers at 1 restaurant at 1 time - they weren't concerned.

        • +3

          HOW?

        • -4

They failed to put a minimum order in conditions, so ordered a lot of $10 entrees & drinks to take away. I put in the orders for all of us - we all have accounts.
It was posted months back. Deal only lasted for a short time. Hey this is OB!

        • A little excessive but I guess if they didn't make any conditions it's fair game. My receipt always shows the full price so I am sure the restaurant gets paid the full amount.

        • +2

Edit: forget it, not in the mood for an argument.

        • +2

don't be greedy. You should be grateful that Menulog didn't notice or take any action on this. According to their terms of use (http://www.menulog.com.au/menulog_terms_of_use):
          4. Voucher Terms
If you use voucher at checkout…….Specific voucher conditions will always be attached to the voucher when it is sent out. Menulog reserves the right to charge the value of the voucher to your allotted credit card if we determine that the voucher was redeemed contrary to the terms of use.

        • +2

LOL negs! Was not greedy - just a large order for many people - all wanting their $10 discount. No Broden Effect!

Just was saying I was the bunny who presented tbe 9 orders to collect for everyone. Order did not show any discount has been applied. So no problems, just a strange look for all those small orders.

No different than a group of friends placing individual orders (on separate ML accounts & CC) from same restaurant with this deal. Otherwise placing 1 order for 9 people only gets 1 $10 discount. Not tbe OB way.

That deal was via the App - different T&C, takeaway, & no restiction on number of orders placed with $10 discount. But would have met current T&C also. http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/86437
And like good OBers, we all had menulog accounts & paid by different CC.

Upon checkout MenuLog say "Menulog pays the restaurant the full amount of your order with its credit card."

  • Thanks just what I was looking for for tonight

  • +1

Thanks for sharing. Tried to place a pick up order using the coupon code, no luck.
$10 off for delivery order is a bargain.

  • Appreciate the share - saves the misses cooking tonight!

  • +4

Good to see Menulog rewarding existing customers too. If I get good service tonight, I will be more likely to try it again.

  • Did any one else get a call from an Indian call centre to confirm their menulog order?

    • that could just be the indian food you ordered

      • Nah only ever seen Italians from this place.

  • +1

    $5 family pizza delivered!

  • Typical. Just ordered a meal off there only an hour ago…

  • +2

    Just ordered a $30 Indian Meal - free delivery, $10 off - paid $20
Used the same Indian restaurant that's linked with Delivery Hero / eatnow.
I hope they all have rotating vouchers so there's always something to use each weekend!

    • +1

Same thing here, I work on a night shift once a week and we always get food delivered from the same place so $5-10 off is a solid saving every week. Just have to check which ones have the best voucher that week!

  • Minimum order is $20 minus delivery. You're never paying less than $10 or am i missing something here?

    • Minimum order is $20

      is this true?

      • +2

In our area, the minimum order is $40.

  • +1

there's a joint im interested in trying right, it says 25% off first order - when i go to the check out it doesnt take any money off???

    can i combine the 25% off & $10?

    • -3

"there's a joint im interested in trying right"

We don't smoke that kind of stuff around here, young man.

    • +1

actually ive answered my question, it says it cannot be used with other offers but it still doesnt deduct the alleged 25% off at the check out… weird.

      • -1

        Call MenuLog?

        • -2

you must be new to online ordering… the concept is you dont have to actually speak with anyone, you place an order and your food arrives… it's like magic. if i wanted to jerk about calling people, i would have just contacted the restaurant and ordered my food the traditional way. thanks for the suggestion though

      • +3

Pretty sure it should work. The individual restaurant offers are usually treated separately to the vouchers issued by Menulog.

        • +1

youre absolutely on the money mate, i ended up getting what i needed with 25% discount + $10 off… thanks for sharing OP !!

  • Thanks for dinner syd!

  • awesome

  • Saved 10 bucks and free delivery.

  • Thanks!!!

  • Is this valid for just a week/until voucher allocation is exhausted? I want to save up for my special $10-15 meal in a couple of days.

  • +1

Haha, damn it! Just ordered menulog lastnight but googled a $5 coupon instead! Thought the odds of one coming up on ozbargain within the hour since i last checked would be pretty low… apparently not!

  • I received a $6 voucher for my next delivery order. Did any one else get this?

    • No, but I've been using Menulog for 2 years and never got sent a single coupon until they started coming a few months ago.

  • 25% off and $10 off coupon stacked fine for me.

    Thanks OP.

    • +1

      Heh spoke too soon.

Got a medium pizza instead of the large as ordered and receipted..

Got garlic pizza instead of the calzone as ordered and receipted.

Still…. $12.62 delivered. I can live with it.

Won't be ordering again with menulog or Crust Gourmet Pizza Bar - East
      Gosford.

  • Yummo!

  • I also got the 25% off plus $10 coupon saving me $21.18 off my order.

  • For extra saving (& hassle) choose one of the CASHBACK options below the description.

  • Yeah $0.22 for half tandoori chicken and 2 papadums!
