  • tempting… cause its cheap

    • I'm tempted to buy one to reenact that scene from The Pink Panther.

Doubt it is playable at such a cheap price. For music instruments, cheap price iis not enough.
    Cheap first, trouble later.

Its cheap but playable, the wax they provide is hard and turns to powder, the bow is cheaply made, the strings break easily, I bought a new set of strings as well. I can play 2 or 3 tunes before it needs to be re-tuned, the strings don't hold. For the price I felt it was ok, the violin was crafted well…

If I bought my kid a Stradivarius, it would not sound any better than this.

    For kids up to 1.6mm

Not true, my daughter is about 150cm and is just now getting a full sized. (4/4) Moving up from the used 3/4 I paid $800 for to a full sized used one for $4k.

The bows are apparently very expensive. Her teacher bought his for $10k several years ago and reckons it is worth $20 - $30k now. He is also playing a $4k violin, with the expensive bow.

I'd say give this a miss. Buy a second hand one for around $200 if you are that hard up.

Or advertise for one on freecycle. You never know what might come up.

Thats some expensive horse tail, didn't the horse ever poo on it or something.

Geezuz that's cheap… cheap enough to buy purely as decoration! Buy ten of the black ones and glue them in a line to a wall of a funky bar or buy a couple to smash up to make a statement piece for your home. Just sayin'….

exactly! Bar owners would want this for their music-themed bar….

1.60 cm is a very small student.

  • i'm gonna get one to get the ladies
i hope they dont ask me to play D:

    • Just bandage a finger that you "broke", and look very sad and in need of consolation if they ask you to play.

  • Is this for children? I'm considering getting one just to muck around with when I'm bored…is it worthwhile?

Hi, The violin is 3/4 size for learners about 160cm. Children can play it and adult also. It depends on your length and your height.
