Xbox 720 is next installment from Microsoft which will out-date & replace the current console. Soon developers stop/reduce making games compatible to Xbox360.
Yeah but no one knows what the 720 will cost at launch. $129 is affordable for a lot of people (especially parents) and the collection of Xbox 360 games currently available and those that will be released in the upcoming months, is nothing to scoff at. Plus, there will be a lot of sales with stores trying to get rid of Xbox 360 games to make way for 720 ones. There's plenty of life left yet in Xbox 360.
Think of it from a present/gift point of view as well. $129 for one of the best consoles that's currently available with a vast selection of games is an incredible present.
Why does this deserve a neg? Product cycle on this - around 8 years. Buy now, it's superseded in 6 months. Buy the new model in 6 months, it's superseded in 8 years. So 6.25% waiting time - phone analogy based on 1 year cycle - would you buy a new phone if it were to be superseded in 3.25 weeks? Obviously not talking about prices differences.
New xbox is not going to be $129.. roughly 1/5th the price of the new model?
To use your phone analogy.. i would purchase a Galaxy S3 for $120 in a heartbeat

How can that not be a consideration? Not everyone can afford the latest and greatest and more often does not require it. Also, with the Xbox 360, sure, it'll be superseded by the 720 but that doesn't make the 360 any less of a good purchase at $129. The deal is very good. Obviously it's not for someone who can afford the 720 when it comes out, but that doesn't change that the 360 at $129 is still a great buy.
Of course it is, but it doesn't mean that devang153's comment was worth a neg. He's correct and so are you. It's worth it at $129 for some and for others it's worth waiting. That was my point in the end - not worth negging.

Me too, GTA is a legend and also waiting for Dragon Age 3.
Ps4 gonna release end of this year, so i would expect to see the next gen xbox in 2014. The price gonna be lower for xbox 360, however, i dont think it would be lower than $100 this year, next year would be possible.
PS4 will most likely be 2014 for Australia. Also, new and old consoles are still actively sold in parallel for a long time.
Take this PS2 for example, that thing sat at the $199-150 price point years after the PS3 starting being sold.
