dont forget AUSSIE10 for 10% off

    • That is for "BIG BUYS", a different site, although operated by HN.

  • AUSSIE10 does not work, message says "Please enter a valid promotional code"

  • Hmmm I want one… Only if I had some extra money to spend =/

  • +1

Its a worry that I might get a email canceling the order…Pro

  • any good this model compared to DC29? cheers

  • i would like to buy one, just not from HN

    • +2

well, if the price is good, who cares..but then i guess we need to know when not to buy something "tooo cheap" from them…

    • +2

just price match it somewhere else

  • +1

Decent price. It is the old model though. I got the Dyson DC44 animal for $330 from amazon on this deal a couple of months ago- http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/85522

Going to buy my girlfriend one of these, happy birthday baby.

    • +7

I was thinking the same, but for valentines day. Might even get lucky!

      • +5

        One for each arm!!

        • She'll need to build her strength!

      • … and they say Aussie men are not roomantic! >.<

    • +1

Just make sure you use her credit card.

  • How can something this small be any good though?

  • Just jumped in the car to get one as soon as this post came in.
It was advertised as being $380, reduced. And after the clerk couldn't find it in the system and then finally found it on the website, she went on to reserve one for herself as well.

    • How big is the box it came in? Could it be taken on public transport easily?

      • +1

        Yep. From memory it was about 30cm x 30cm x 80cm.

Note though, that I got a cheaper price than this from Good Guys just before Christmas, so I'm sure they'd be able to beat it on request.

        • How much cheaper?

        • $279, although I actually ended up getting the DC35 Animal instead for $299.

  • few similar models, any differnce?

  • Arrrgghhh. I want a deal like this for the DC44! I'm thinking of trying to get this price matched at Masters then using the Masters Gift Card from the other deal to bring it to $279. But I wanted the DC44! (First world problems much.)

    • So, ended up going into Masters. I was going to try and haggle a good price for the DC44 but the guy wouldn't have a bar of it. Basically told me that the price on the sticker was the best price at $468. Pfft.

Ended up price matching the DC35 Multi Floor to $299 then used the gift card from this - http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/89623 - to an end price of $279. I'm content.

For those considering this as a gift. You have to watch this for a laugh.

    • I think I'm a regular there. Fridge for Xmas present… I'm so sweet.

  • Will try my luck tomorrow. Happy Australia Day!

  • Haha, i don't really need one, trying to justify it…… hmm $299 isn't really change.
Is this a motor head e.g. powered or is it a turbine head (spins due to airflow)?

Just bought one. Naturally, the shop staff had no idea it was on sale and when I told them how much it's currently being sold for (which still isn't even that cheap) I was met by stunned disbelief which required a call to the manager. The staff told me "The manager said yes to go with that price" in a poor attempt to actually make me feel like I got a special deal, haha. Gotta love (to hate) HN.

You'd honestly think the staff would be briefed on the prices their stock is being sold for. It's a poor showing when they don't even know what's part of a widely publicised Aus Day weekend sale on TV!

    • +2

Called a few to make sure they had stock. All were surprised as they looked up the price without my prompting.

  • +1

Thanks OP, Just went down to HN and got one of these as my old dustbuster finally gave up last week. Same story as wasabinator, staff had no idea they were this price and had to check online and after about 10 mins finally sold it to me as though they were doing me favour. I was just about to leave and get it pice matched somewhere else..

Picked mine up at HN Bundall. They were marked at $299, maybe a bit more on the ball there. But I got the last one. Went looking at coffee machines before I paid for it and heard numerous others asking for one, only to be disappointed..I feel lucky, been wanting one of these for ages and don't care that its not the newest version! Thanks again Ozbargain!

    • +2

Well that's the key element a lot of these retail stores seem to miss: If they get their act together and ADVERTISE the sale price in store, people might actually buy. Evidence is in the fact that you got the last one, whereas in the store I was in there was still plenty of stock remaining.

I've lost count on how many of these stores fail the mark their own stock correctly (HN) or fail to put prices on anything completely (numerous instances at Myer). Good to see you managed to nab the last one at a competent store :)

      • Sometimes the stores just don't know about special pricing, they may have not been told…

I have bought Target clothing, and it's scanned cheaper than shelf price, countless times. I bought a Panasonic handycam for around $80 off shelf price at DSE, because I saw it online cheap. No ticket in store.

      • They actually do it on purpose not to advertise the sale price. The higher the price they sell, the bigger the commission.

  • Going into the store to pick it up after purchasing it online yesterday, only to be treated with extremely bad service.

Never again will I walk into that store again.

    • Can you please tell us what happened?.

  • +1

Just bought one today at $299. Again the staff had no idea of that price. She told me she couldn't buy it for that price ($299) herself. HN had it att their cost price $374 on the computer. I showed her the page on my phone, she went and got permission and I purchased it. She was going home to add OzBargain to her bookmarks!

    • HN had it att their cost price $374 on the computer

Hahaha, never believe their cost price. You can buy one from Bing Lee for $314. If $374 is the cost price for HN, someone at HN is pocketing the change.

Kinda weird behind the thinking of HN running this deal. Who were they supposed to attract?

I'm not complaining, I got one, but you wouldn't know it just browsing at a store.

  • Strange price matching policy at Masters-I tried to get one of these from Masters and they refused to price match saying Masters everyday price is lower than HN's everyday price and as this is a special they wont price match. Had no problems matching price at David Jones, showed the webpage on my phone and manager was happy to match.

    • +1

They should match it. No questions asked. Ask to speak to a manager next time.
